The ATP could not be happier to finally bring to its loyal listeners an away victory podcast.  Everton execute the counter attack to perfection and dismantle DeZerbi's Seagulls 5-1.  James and Ryan bring you all the joy from the AMEX, with a victory that finally gives Everton a bit of breathing room, albeit temporarily.  In a massive shocker, Sean Dyche finally put Yerry Mina into the lineup and his performance in defense was match with a very focused and organized counter attacking approach, from the forward line. The duo gets into a lot of tactical discussion, but also take a bunch of listener comments and most importantly, have a lot of fun walking through 5 fantastic goals from the Toffees.      LINKS: linktr.ee/usatoffeepod Intro: Steve Barkwill Production: James Boyman Outro: Kenboib

Did Everton do enough to win?  Was Everton hard done? Was Sean Dyche to blame for the lineup and lack of subs? The ATP and its listeners have their say. It's a sad day in ATPland - not to be confused with Hoogie Boogie Land - as Everton fall apart in the 2nd half vs. Fulham at Goodison Park. James and Ryan try to make sense of all the madness in a match that featured dramatic swings in form. It just seemed an ominous match from the announcement of the starting lineup to the eventual downturn in performance early in the second half all the way through the end of the match. The ATP goes through some of the tactical issues as well as some of the individual performances that led the disappointing result today. But more importantly, the dynamic duo take a hard look at whether or not Everton can climb to safety and if so, what will it take. Do they need to bring Mina into the fold? Should it be Godfrey or Mykolenko in the back line? If DCL comes into the side, what does it look like? As usual, conversation is driven by several of our listener comments, which we very much appreciate. The full trio is back to bring you all the highs and the lows (mostly lows) from Everton's loss at Goodison. It's hard to argue that 2-0 wasn't a harsh scoreline as there were some very good signs from the Toffees, but ultimately, a couple large mistakes and some below standard officiating even for the PL did Everton in. Alex, James, and Ryan digest the finer details of the match and try to answer some of the bigger questions surrounding the performance and the future. How can Everton create more chances or score more goals? Is this all on the lack of a CF? Is firing crosses into Maupay the right approach? Can Dyche adapt and/or was the higher press a tactical example of him doing just that? How much of Everton's defensive issues are the result of Conor Coady? While it's looking grim for Everton, the performance wasn't all bad and the trio also look towards the future with a bunch of listener comments. While we celebrate the newly wed Alex back into the fold to reunite the full power trio, unfortunately it is to capture the gory details of a poor Everton performance in a 1-0 loss at St. James Park in Newcastle. The ATP does attempt to uncover what when wrong tactically and technically as well as the usual individual performance reviews, but we also attempt to answer the questions as to why Everton is struggling to create chances and what the club can do to fix the problem if anything. We discuss the changes in the midfield over the past 3 matches, the combination of Gray and Gordon, and the limitations of the existing backline. We bring in a bunch of listener comments to help guide the discussion and believe we arrive at some plausible solutions. Feel free to give it a listen and give us your own takes – we'd love to hear them. For the first time in almost 2 months, Everton are defeated in a 2-1 loss vs. Manchester United on a rare Sunday night match at Goodison. James and Ryan are here at the ATP again this week as Alex is still heading back from his honeymoon. While the duo gives their own take on tactics and performances, they go heavy on listener feedback this week due to an exceptional number of insightful comments (thank you!). But ultimately the ATP tries to answer the question of what went wrong - was it just a matter of time and Everton's luck had run out? Or was it tactics and organization? Perhaps Everton simply suffered some uncharacteristic performances? Give it a listen and find out! The ATP is proud to bring you all the excitement of Everton's second PL win in a row at St. Mary's. Much like the famous voyage of the Mayflower, which left from Southampton approximately 400 years ago, this match had long periods of inactivity with some intense moments. All three goals occurred in a 5 minute span with the Toffees responding brilliantly after going down. James and Ryan get into the tactics, the subs, as well as the good, bad, and ugly of the 2-1 win. They also bring in a ton of listener comments on things such as the announcing, refereeing, and even why we seem to come out flat in the 2nd half so often. They also attempt to answer the ultimate question - did Everton deserve to take all 3 points? Listen and find out!   LINKS: https://linktr.ee/usatoffeepod Intro: Steve Barkwill Production: James Boyman Outro: Kenboib Learn more about your ad choices. Everton begin the season with consecutive losses for just the 2nd time in the PL era after falling 2-1 away to Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa side. Stateside Toffees who woke up early for this one likely felt a certain amount of regret after an uneventful first half was marked by a Danny Ings goal to put the Villains in the driver's seat. Buendia added another late in the second half which looked to effectively end the match before a Lucas Digne own goal injected some life into the Blues as stoppage time approached, where they nearly grabbed an equalizer. Ryan, Alex and James get into all the details: Doucoure's injury, Coady's first start, Onana's debut, Frank's questionable subs. As always we get some great comments from our listeners that help drive the discussion, including the critical importance of additional business being completed before the transfer window closes.
