A guy dressed as Santa comes in and kills the vibe. It's Glen. He owns the bookstore, and he's very passive-aggressive about how no one in this town comes to his bookstore. Glen has a past. He's banned from the diner, and everyone seems to hate him. He gives presents to everyone and tells Emily that he picked this one specially for her—it's rare he finds a fellow mystery lover.The night continues, and Emily sees Glen in his Santa suit scurrying quickly outside. She goes to follow him, finds his hat on the floor, and then sees a car speed off. Just as that happens, she hears a scream. She runs inside and sees Sue, who was throwing the party. She's crying as she looks at Glen, who has been stabbed in the heart.When Emily gets home, she opens the gift. It's a special green edition of A Christmas Carol. We get a flashback of Emily visiting the bookstore and meeting Glen. She tells him about this edition of A Christmas Carol that her parents used to read to her. He remembered and tracked the book down. As she opens it, a letter falls out, inviting her to a very special event at the law offices tomorrow at 8 p.m. What is Glen up to?!So, she goes to tell Sam, and he says, “How would you feel about me being a plus-one so I can take a gander?”They show up, and the video plays—it's Glen, predicting his own death and setting up a treasure hunt. Sam tries to get everyone to give him their books so he can search for clues. They're like, “Nah. There's treasure to find!”It doesn't take Emily long to find the first clue using a UV light on her book. She thinks the other books have clues too and that they all need to work together on it. She gets two others on board—a hot dog stand owner named Harry and Brooke Carmichael. But Glen's nephew, Fred, says he and his wife don't want to participate (mainly Fred's wife—she didn't like Glen).To make matters worse, there's one book still missing. She thinks maybe he gave it to the diner owner, Sue, but Sue says she threw the book out.Sam finds out that Glen had Huntington's disease. After Fred finds this out, he decides that they want to participate. Even though they're missing one book, they decide to put all the clues together and try to figure out what they're pointing to. It has something to do with a precious memory. Fred says, “The only memory I can think of with Glen is him reading Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Emily says, “Go see if he has that book in the bookstore. Maybe there's a clue.”As they're walking towards the store, Emily sees the car that sped off and notices a letter that clearly came from Glen in the front seat. Just then, Fred realizes the bookstore is unlocked. Sam goes in first and finds a guy there.It's Fred's brother Noah. They haven't seen each other in a long time. Apparently, when their mom got sick, Noah left. Sam takes Noah in for questioning and presents him with some pretty tough evidence—they found Glen's Santa suit in the trunk and the USB drive with Glen's video on it from the lawyer's office, which was stolen. He gives reasons for all of it, but it's not looking great.Fred tells Emily that he did finally go find the book and found a USB drive! They agree to all get together tomorrow to watch what's on it.As Emily's going home, an SUV speeds at her, and she has to tuck-and-roll out of the way.The next day, they all get together, and it's another video with a very cryptic clue. We find out that someone is sitting in a car, listening in on their conversation.Later, the group gets back together, but Fred is nowhere to be found. Turns out he was attacked from behind. He says he doesn't know who did it. Sam gets a call—they found Fred's wife's DNA on the Santa suit. She says she found out that the first editions were missing and went to talk to Glen. She found him dead and knew it wouldn't look good that she found him, so she put the suit on and ran out.Emily finds Noah in the diner—he's been released. She convinces him to join the group in solving the mystery. He comes to her store and sees there's a hole in the wall—she has a leak. He says he thought maybe it was one of the secret compartments these old buildings have. That gives them the idea to look for one in the bookstore, and they find it! Inside is a suitcase—a go-bag, if you will. They discover a folder with a plane ticket to Switzerland for the day of the party and a brochure for a place in Switzerland for end-of-life care. He was planning to leave and die in Switzerland. Emily recalls that the tape says, “If you're seeing this, that means I'm gone.” He didn't know he was going to be murdered. He was just planning on disappearing.They find the final clue and watch the video. Suddenly, Harry, the hot dog guy, is gone, and so are all the books. Emily puts it together—he killed Glen and was just trying to solve the mystery. She goes to confront him in the cemetery where the final clue leads to. We find out that he showed up to steal the first edition A Christmas Carol and threatened to kill Glen to get it. Glen laughed in his face, knowing he was dying. That offended Harry, so he stabbed him.Emily then fights him, takes him down, and puts him in plastic cuffs to get the treasure! She figures out it was the lawyer who hired this guy, and he gets arrested.She gets the group back together and hands out what Glen left for everyone. It's very sweet.The movie ends with Emily coming down to her store and seeing Sam fixing her wall. They end up making out HARD!!! She says, “Let's go for a walk in the snow.” She has to go change, and that's when he gets a phone call—he's been investigating Emily and noticed some discrepancies in her story. He got a call from his higher-up to drop any and all research into her. So, clearly, she isn't who she says she is. The episode ends with him asking her, “Who are you really?” Fade to black. Nick is leading a historical tour when he hears that the Coast Guard needs help with a rescue. Being an ex–Coast Guard officer, he takes a boat out to assist. Suddenly, Ella appears in his boat — she's been transported from 1905 to 2025!They're both shocked, but Nick sails them back to shore. Ella threatens to turn him in to the authorities, but she's clearly confused — this is not the Newport she knows. When she introduces herself, Nick is thrown off. He asks what year she thinks it is. When she answers “1905,” he's like, “Uh oh.” He assumes she's just an overly committed cosplayer. Then she spots an inflatable snowman and faints.When she comes to, she heads back outside and is horrified to see that women wear pants. She walks to what she believes is her home — but there are strangers living there. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE?!” she yells. The family explains the history of her estate and how she's actually a famous historical figure. Ella is stunned. She decides she has to get back home — and what better way than by boat?But when Nick inspects the boat, he's shocked: none of his modern equipment is there, the carvings are different, and the name on the boat has changed. It's clearly her boat.To prove who she is, Ella shows them a secret hiding spot containing her belongings — including a diary no one knew existed. They finally believe her and agree to let her stay at a local bed and breakfast. One guy, Francis, theorizes, “What if the present and the past are happening simultaneously? I believe her. 1905 Ella hasn't started The Giving House yet, so clearly she must make it back.”Nick tells Ella that he thinks she's time-traveled. Ella mentions that before meeting him, she saw a comet — maybe that's connected.Nick takes her to see the town's Christmas tree lighting, and she's absolutely blown away. But when she spots a monument dedicated to The Giving House, she's shaken. As she reads it, Nick gets word that Ella is beginning to disappear from old portraits — and right before their eyes, the text on the monument starts to fade. They realize they need to get her back to 1905 before she vanishes completely.Nick researches the comet and learns there's a “Christmas Comet” that appears every 20 years. Ella confesses that when she saw the comet in 1905, she wished for a different life. The good news? The comet is coming again — in just five days. The bad news? That gives Ella and Nick more time to fall for each other, which they definitely do.As they stroll through town, Ella notices a man who looks vaguely familiar. She later learns he's the man her father bought the boat from. Nick's like, “Wait — that's the same guy I bought the boat from.”They track him down, and he introduces himself as Rex. Ella is stunned — that's the man she's supposed to marry. Rex admits that her father sent him out to rescue her after she ran away… but something went wrong, and he was transported to 2005 instead.Rex explains that when he arrived, he found a letter leaving the boat to him, with instructions to eventually sell it to Nick. He doesn't know who wrote the letter, but he figured out the Christmas Comet is the key to returning home. The twist? He's not sure he wants to go back.Ella's torn. She knows she's destined to marry Rex, but her heart belongs to Nick. Rex confides that he's built a life in the present — and even fallen for another woman. Ella admits she kind of wants to stay, too.Nick tells her she has to return — it's her story, her legacy. She pleads, “Why can't we be together?!” They share a kiss, but Nick pulls away. “We can't do this,” he says.It's the night of the big Christmas ball. Ella and Nick dance and confess their feelings. Then, right as Rex walks in with his fiancée, the Christmas tree begins to disappear — reality is collapsing. They rush to the boat. Nick gives Ella an ornament to remember him by, and they share one last hug and a soft forehead kiss before she sets sail.As she spots the comet streaking across the sky, Ella cries, “Why did you let me fall in love — but please, take me home!”It works. She's back in 1905. She bursts into the Christmas ball and tells her father she refuses to marry the man he chose. He insists, “But he's come all this way!” When Rex is introduced… it's Nick.Back in 2025, her portrait has returned. Nick explains in voiceover that as Ella was sailing off, he realized if Rex wasn't going to go back, he could. Knowing Rex had no family, he took his place — no questions asked.They kiss, and above them, the Christmas Comet twinkles once more. After a training session, she spends time with her dad, a Sergeant, who's hoping for a more traditional Christmas this year since Blaire's mom has passed.They go to the Marine Christmas festival party, and Blaire is shocked to see Josh Cannon there! He's now a company commander. The two immediately start arguing and, naturally, decide to compete again — right then and there. In their rush outside, they knock over the party cake. Their commanding officer is not amused and assigns them to Christmas duty — meaning they'll be spending 24 hours straight together.Meanwhile, a huge snowstorm is threatening to delay the children's Christmas gifts, though they're still expected to arrive by Christmas Eve.When Blaire and Josh show up for their Christmas duty, Josh has brought his own decorations — including an inflatable Santa. But when they find out the toy delivery has been canceled due to the storm, they agree to team up to save Christmas! Their plan: figure out what all the kids want, take a five-ton truck that can handle the roads, and track down the gifts themselves.As they travel, they start to open up. Blaire shares about the loss of her mom, and the walls start to come down.At their first stop, they discover the employee forgot to pull all the gifts. It's… weird, but yay for Ezra, I guess.On the way back, their truck breaks down, leading to an argument just when things were finally going well. Ugh! Luckily, Josh's sister is a truck expert and walks him through the fix.They get back on the road and return — but late. Mission failed. The boss blames Josh and threatens to discharge them, but Blaire takes the blame instead. Josh feels terrible and goes to the boss to come clean, saying it was both their fault. The boss agrees to let it go — if they deliver the rest of the gifts dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus.When Josh shows up to get Blaire (with his dad in tow), their dads start arguing — but nothing a snowball fight can't fix.They deliver the rest of the gifts, share a kiss (or three), and celebrate Christmas together with their families. It turns out there's already a man there. Her name is Jane, and his name is Justin. Jane is actually the cousin of Justin's ex-girlfriend.Here's what happened: Justin and his fiancée had planned to come to the cabin for their honeymoon, but they broke up. Justin still decides to go, and Jane, assuming the cabin was empty, came to work on a writing retreat. She's a romance novelist, hoping for some quiet time to write. It turns out Justin is there for a similar reason—he's a songwriter.Justin tells Jane she can stay and work on her writing while he does his own thing. He becomes interested in her work, and while reading her book, he imagines himself in her story, picturing romantic scenarios with her. He compliments her writing and suggests they collaborate on a song. Jane writes some lyrics, they sing together, and realize they make a great creative team.Justin opens up about his breakup with his fiancée, Addy. Jane reassures him that he dodged a bullet. Just as they begin exploring their feelings for each other, Addy shows up with her new boyfriend—turns out they also booked the cabin. Justin suggests they stay the night and leave in the morning, but they wake up snowed in.Addy encourages Justin to hash things out with her, and he does, leading to a near-kiss with Jane—though she accidentally falls off the balcony. Meanwhile, Addy begins to notice the chemistry between Justin and Jane and grows jealous, especially since she wants to collaborate with him on music again. When she hears him playing the keyboard, she flirts with him physically. Justin resists, saying he doesn't want to repeat past mistakes. Jane overhears part of this conversation, misunderstanding that he still has feelings for Addy.This doesn't stop Addy from telling Jane that she is falling for Justin again and mentioning the beautiful song they just wrote together. Justin clears things up with Jane, who admits she's nervous because Addy has stolen her boyfriend before.Addy ultimately decides she wants to pursue Justin again, which leads to a chaotic dance battle between Alejandro (her current boyfriend) and Justin, resulting in Justin getting knocked out. When he wakes, he sees Jane and tells her he loves her.Addy makes one final attempt to get back with Justin but ultimately realizes he only has eyes for Jane. She decides to give things another try with Alejandro.Stranded at the cabin for Christmas, everyone shares a holiday dinner and reflects on what they're thankful for. The movie ends with Addy and Alejandro leaving, Jane and Justin sharing a kiss, him calling it a “magnanimous moment,” and her responding, “You said you loved me,” before fading to black. Emily hears some Christmas carolers. She goes out and is kind of enjoying herself... kind of. The lead singer, Debby, is making some choices. Then, suddenly, a giant sleigh falls on her! She's not dead, and apparently, she's not even injured.Cut to Emily waking up once again from a crazy dream of her past life. She grabs some coffee and opens a briefcase. She looks at a picture of what we assume is her family from a past life. She grabs a USB drive that will shield her identity while she does some searching. She's trying to track down someone known as "Ky-Mer-a."Back at the store, Emily is greeted by Brooke Carmichael, who is part of the choir—the Belles. She wants to put up a flyer for their concert and tells Emily that some of the Belles think something is afoot because this isn't the first "accident" that has happened to them, including the death of a member, Clara, who was killed in a hit-and-run.So, Emily goes to check out the sleigh, which Sam is also looking at. He suspects something nefarious happened with the sleigh because of the way it's built.She decides the best course of action is to audition to join the Belles so she can keep an eye on them. She'll rely on Violet, Sam's daughter, to lock up the store at night. I'm sure nothing will go wrong. After practice, she talks to a guy named Lance, who is bummed about Clara because she was the key to their success. He insists that other members were jealous of her.She sees Clara's husband leaving the diner, so she goes to talk to him. He says he knows for a fact that Clara was murdered by the Belles.At the next practice, Debby begins gasping for air, and her epipen isn't in her purse, which she just complained had been moved. She ends up surviving AGAIN!Sam pulls Emily aside and asks for her help. He wants her to keep an eye on Debby. Emily says, "But Debby has almost died twice." Sam replies, "Well... she was also a suspect in the hit-and-run. It's possible she's faking these murder attempts to try to prove it wasn't her who killed Clara."The next day, Debby comes to the shop to thank Emily for saving her life. Emily gets right to work, asking questions. Debby claims she doesn't even have a car anymore; she had it hauled away months ago. Emily suggests, "You should've called Adam to do it." She says, "Adam doesn't like me very much—he showed up at my house late one night demanding I tell him who in the Belles Clara was having an affair with." She adds, "If Clara was having an affair with a Belle, I would've known about it."So Emily calls Sam. Adam thinking Clara was having an affair is a motive for murder. They go to his house, but he's not there. On the way back into town, they find his truck has gone off the road. Adam is nowhere to be found.They call in a search and rescue team. If he's in the woods, he won't survive the night in this cold.Emily heads back to her shop when she sees a masked man leaving the store. She tries to chase him, but he loses her. She has to call the police. Sam comes to check on her and asks, "Was it locked?" She says, "Oh, yeah, for sure."At the next Belles rehearsal, the leader, Vera, says Debby won't be making it to the Christmas tree lighting, so she'll be taking her place. It's clear Brooke is upset about that.Debby eventually shows up at practice and tries to sing the solo but can't. Vera and she get into a fight about Debby pulling back funding. Vera tells her that her money can't buy her the solo, and Debby leaves.Emily figures out that the key was stolen by a punk kid, so she goes and scares him into admitting it. It's great.Later, she goes to poke around at Adam's place. She sees a covered car. She smells bleach and ends up opening the trunk, cutting her hand in the process. It's Adam. He's dead.Later, while she's talking to Sam, she remembers something that happened earlier—Vera had a band-aid and said it was just a paper cut. But the cut is exactly the same as Emily's.Sam goes and picks Vera up. They test the blood on the trunk door, and it's a match.He begins to question her, and it comes out that Clara was going to leave the Belles for another group. Vera hit her with Debby's car. Adam told Vera that he knew Debby killed Clara and that he found the car. So, she freaked out and drugged him to buy time to wipe down the car. Needless to say, he ends up back in the ER and has to rock an eye patch during his first TV spot promoting the Gingerbread Invitational.He joins Miss Mittons' walking group to go clothes shopping and grab some hot chocolate. Of course, Hope shows up, and the two of them end up leaving together to grab a bite to eat. The night is fantastic — until he gets arrested for breaking into his own car. Then, the next day, he eats a peanut butter cookie and has an allergic reaction. Classic Ted Cooper.Kate is throwing a costume party. She's working overtime, so she calls Dr. Hope and invites her to come early. They look at their yearbook and admit they were both really into each other back then. Ted's like, “I wish we had this conversation in high school!” The party's a blast, and he wants to ask her out but chickens out. He ends up going to her house later that night and finally asks her out — and she's down to clown.They do a Christmas-themed escape room, and it's going great until they need help… but the helper has fallen asleep and doesn't hear them, so they end up trapped there overnight. They talk all night, and right when they're about to kiss — boom, the guy wakes up and interrupts them. But the vibes? Off the charts.The next day, Ted uses a rideshare to get to his news shoot, and a limo picks him up. He accidentally leaves his phone behind. Later, when Hope tries to call him, a woman answers — she's partying hard — and Hope thinks Ted is with her!Ted realizes his phone is missing and goes to leave a note on Hope's door, but the note blows away. Classic misunderstanding.Miss Mittons gives Ted his own track jacket and tells him not to worry — these things happen.Hope gets a call from the rideshare driver, who fills her in on what really happened. She and Ted meet back up, but even though it was all a misunderstanding, it leads to an argument. Hope tells him she wishes he'd fight for himself more — she wants to really know Ted.He takes that to heart. Ted tells her she's right — he's going to do better, he's taking the job he was afraid to take — and then they kiss… ON LIVE TV!The movie ends with a giant gingerbread decoration almost falling on him — but missing him. She suspects his ex-girlfriend, Lizzie Cline, who he was seeing until shortly before getting back together with June, might have been on the wagon ride that night.Emily immediately gets to work, tracking down Lizzie at her job and asking hard-hitting questions—like, “Wagons?!” Speaking of wagons, Emily visits the owner of the wagon rides, Gordon. Something seems to be bothering him, and Emily suspects it's a hangover.Later, Emily heads into the woods and finds scuff marks on a tree, almost as if someone recently climbed it. Sneaky as ever, Emily snaps a picture of the list of everyone who was on the wagon that night. There's one person she can't track down—a man named Joey.While Emily and June are at the diner, June gets arrested. Emily confronts Detective Sam, who refuses to confirm or deny whether they found the poison that killed Marcus in June's house, but his terrible poker face says it all.Emily discovers that Marcus denied Gordon a bank loan, leaving Gordon's business in serious trouble. When Emily breaks into Marcus's home, she finds a USB drive and a bookmark tucked into a pregnancy photo album. The USB contains a document for the sale of Gordon's farm—but it's unsigned. When she confronts Gordon, she spots some suspicious men leaving his house. Gordon reveals that Marcus asked for more time.Before Emily can leave, Gordon collapses. While waiting for the police, Emily has a flashback to a high-stakes moment from her past, where a building explodes behind her. It's clear she moved to Fletcher's Grove to lay low.Detective Sam arrives, suspicious when he finds out Emily called in Gordon's collapse. She insists she's just trying to help her friend. Sam reluctantly asks her to keep him in the loop because, well, it's Hallmark—amateur sleuths and cops have to work together. It's practically a law.Emily teams up with a local informant named Ray, who knows all the town gossip. He reveals that Gordon recently had his gambling debt paid off, though it's unclear by whom. Emily also grows suspicious of Marcus's co-worker, Rowan. When she confronts him, he has an explanation for everything. Under pressure, she convinces him to share Marcus's bank statements, which reveal a $40,000 withdrawal just before his death.Emily forms a theory: Marcus paid off Gordon's debt as a down payment for the farm, but Gordon had second thoughts because his daughter believed the farm was hers. Emily pitches her theory to Gordon's daughter, Anna, but it doesn't go over well.One night, Emily confronts Lizzie, who admits she didn't mean for Marcus to get hurt. Lizzie reveals that she's pregnant with Marcus's baby. She wanted to tell her boyfriend, Trent, but couldn't. When she told Marcus, someone must have overheard. Lizzie then received a text demanding $40,000. Marcus got the money and met her in the woods, where they shared a cookie. Emily realizes the cookie couldn't have been poisoned and goes to the police to secure June's release.Emily deduces that Gordon wasn't the blackmailer—he doesn't even know how to text—but Anna does. Anna confesses to the blackmail but denies being involved in the murder.Emily discovers that Rowan was secretly sleeping in Gordon's barn. In his bag, she finds the poison that killed Marcus. Rowan knocks Emily out, and when she wakes up, both she and Anna are tied up. Rowan admits he wanted to kill Gordon to stop the sale of the farm. He poisoned Marcus's flask, which Marcus drank from before confronting the blackmailer. Rowan plans to poison Emily and Anna and frame Anna for everything.Emily reveals that she hid her phone and has been recording Rowan's confession. While he searches for the phone, Emily and Anna spook a horse to knock him out. They escape, call the police, and Rowan is arrested.Detective Sam tells Emily they'll discuss everything soon but is relieved she's safe.In the end, Gordon survives, Lizzie tells Trent about the baby, and Sam and his daughter sing Christmas karaoke. Everything seems fine—until the final scene, where Emily opens a black box from her old life and smirks, hinting at secrets yet to come. The old guy overhears and tries to call for help, but ends up getting smacked in the head.Three months later, missing person posters are going up for the old captain — put up by his daughter.Cut to Gethsemane, who's conducting a choir (and crushing it) while trying to ignore her ghost friend, Eamon. She reveals a new statue to honor a dead guy, but everyone thinks it sucks. After the show, hottie Griff goes up to tell her how great it was — and of course Inspector O'Reilly isn't far behind. Classic love triangle stuff.She's thrilled when her brother, Jackson, gets into town to visit. They sing a song and grieve the loss of their dad, who died a year ago.They head to a pub, where Jackson ends up chatting with the violin guy from the beginning. Jackson, who works at a music store, asks to take a look. The guy says he should be able to sell it and retire. Jackson asks if there are any good bands playing, and the guy says the hotel he's staying at has a piano player — that's about it. He ends up leaving his bag behind, so Jackson goes to return it. When he gets there, the lights go out, someone yells, and Jackson rushes upstairs to find the violin guy on the ground — and a hooded figure running off with the violin. Jackson tells the hotel employee to call the police, which naturally means Inspector O'Reilly.Gethsemane goes to check on her brother, and Eamon shows up saying he might be able to help. He takes her to talk to the ghost of the dead guy. He says the violin guy's name was Ray — paid cash up front but seemed off the whole time. He asks Gethsemane to get a message to his daughter, and she agrees.Inspector O'Reilly checks the security footage, and the hooded figure appears to be a woman.That same hooded figure later runs out of the dead guy's boat when Gethsemane goes to check it out.Naturally, Gethsemane is now on the case — with Eamon's help, of course. There are sketchy art dealers, teachers, and bears, oh my! (Okay, no bears. I lied.)Gethsemane and Griff grow closer and even almost kiss! Her brother figures out she has powers — and he's totally cool with it.Turns out Ray was originally going to sell the violin to a music store owner but backed out for a higher bidder. So she and the harbor master hatched a plan… and now Ray's dead. But don't worry — Gethsemane catches them!She wraps up the case, enjoys the rest of her time with her brother, and yay for love! It's finally here! From what? From whom? While running through the woods, her necklace falls off. A bald dude who's following her picks it up. The little girl makes it to a path and runs into a woman who's jogging. She says, “Don't let him find me.”Cut to author Alice Kerrigan at a reading for her new book. A megafan is asking questions, and Alice drops a bombshell — her next book is going to be a firsthand account of her time with a serial abductor, The Strigoi, who kidnapped her as a kid.This guy has never been caught, but Alice believes that by now he's too old to pose a threat and finally feels ready to tell her story. But between the creepy megafan and her big announcement, Alice gets a bit jumpy.Her cop sister comes to pick her up (very late, FYI), and they finally get to spend some time together. Her sister isn't thrilled that Alice doesn't paint the cops in a positive light in her books — and she's really not thrilled to find out Alice plans to publicly share her story. They get into an argument. It's not great.That night, Alice wakes up to banging and booming outside her room. She grabs a lamp that's lying nearby and goes to investigate. She gets downstairs and — surprise — the house has clearly been burglarized. Stuff is everywhere. But then she discovers the necklace she dropped in the woods as a kid, next to a note attached to a brick:“You don't know my story well enough to tell it. Maybe she will.”Clearly, it's The Strigoi. Speaking of Strigoi, I know we all know what that means, but let's say it together:“Strigoi, in Romanian mythology, are troubled spirits said to have risen from the grave. They can transform into beasts, become invisible, and gain vitality from the blood of their victims.”Yes, thank you.Back to the movie: the police show up. Detective Marcus Rosner doesn't believe her story, nor does he believe it's The Strigoi. He points out that she announced her new book today, and that probably made her cop sister mad, drink too much, and leave.So it's up to Alice to figure this out herself. She examines the brick and sees a number: 55868.As Alice is walking around trying to find out more about the brick, she bumps into the megafan, Claire. She immediately decides to open up to her (for reasons I don't understand) and tells her what she's working on — and the megafan is PUMPED.Claire pulls up a blog that lists three suspects for The Strigoi:Dr. Adrian Blake – doctor for three of the missing girlsCharles Mercer – bad guy, convicted of other crimesThe Trenchcoat – a mysterious figure often seen by the railroad tracksAlice is sure it isn't Dr. Blake because he's dead. She's not super sure about the other two but agrees to investigate.They find Charles Mercer playing chess. He was convicted of some icky stuff back in the day, but he claims he didn't do any of it. He suspects someone from the Italian restaurant where he used to work was up to something shady and says she should look there.So they go to investigate. Megafan Claire talks to the owner while Alice pokes around in the back. She finds a box that looks important, but the owner hears her snooping and chases her off. Don't worry — she gets away with the box, no problem.They look at who was working with Charles at the time and zero in on a name: Stephen Gray. That leads them to his family home, which has some weird stuff out back — a bunch of dirt, her sister's shirt, and skeletal remains of animals buried there. It's almost like he wanted her to find it.They go to talk to the woman who used to live there — Stephen's mom — now in a nursing home. She says some things about Stephen that make Alice think they might be onto something. Alice also starts to suspect Claire may be up to something after she randomly bails mid-conversation.When Alice gets home, Detective Marcus Rosner is there. They talk; she tells him about Stephen. They hug (all above board), and then a brick gets thrown from inside the house through the window — something I don't think has ever happened in the history of film. They go in, and no one's there.Alice starts digging into Claire online, through the same forums Claire had shown her. She has a revelation when she sees a photo of a missing girl named Charlie.The next day, Alice is supposed to meet Claire but doesn't show. Claire storms off, furious. Alice follows her by car. It takes her to a cabin in the woods. Alice goes to open the door and has a vivid memory of running out that very door as a child. It's the cabin.She sneaks inside, and more memories come flooding back. As she's creeping around, Claire catches her. Alice calls her Charlie — which makes Claire freak out.She screams, “You don't know how badly you leaving affected him!”Turns out, after Alice escaped, he kidnapped Claire/Charlie and kept her there. She's been there ever since. She yells, “I'm his wife now! We had a ceremony and everything!”The plan was for Claire to get close to Alice, then lure her back to the killer. We also learn he's very sick and clearly dying.Claire attacks Alice and almost strangles her but lets go before Alice passes out — then breaks down crying.Stephen Gray comes downstairs. Alice runs away, jumps in the car, and drives off before he can catch her — and before her sister can make it to her car.She gets pulled over and tells Detective Rosner everything about Stephen Gray. He promises to look into it.Alice hatches a plan. She goes to the pharmacy, knowing that Claire would likely show up to get new meds (because Alice took a vial with her). When Claire gets back to her car, Alice attacks — strangles her from behind, puts her in the back seat, and drives to Stephen Gray's.Stephen calls Claire's phone to find out where she is. Alice tells him, “I'll give you your medicine if you give me my sister.” He agrees to meet her at the rooftop garden — the same place he first kidnapped her.She calls Marcus (okay, Detective Hottie) and tells him what she's doing — that he can't stop her, but he can join her if he wants.They meet. Stephen explains that he wanted her to find all the information about him for her book — but also wants her to jump off the building with him so their stories will end together. Dark stuff.Detective Hottie shows up, Stephen coughs, and that gives Alice enough time to break free and push him off the building.They rescue her sister. Alice goes home and writes a letter to Charlie.One year later, her book is out — and Charlie shows up. They hug. Turns out, they co-wrote the book together.Yay for authors. It's a mess. They agree to lay down some new guidelines for the players. But after another screw-up that messes up a meeting with a potential big donor, Logan talks to the players, and they surprise Cassidy with dinner and an apology.Cassidy begins to learn that being part of a team isn't all bad — especially after promising her big donor that she'll bring back the alumni formal. Then, after realizing the donor is a huge football fan, she comes up with a plan that'll win him over and help the arts — build a new football stadium.Cassidy starts to enjoy having the boys around and, let's be honest, is really starting to enjoy Logan. They end up slow dancing and kissinggggg.But things take a turn when Logan agrees to help her with the presentation to the big donor — and then shows up late. The donor backs out because the proposal lacked key details, and Logan was the one who had them. When he finally arrives, he explains he was at a ceremony for his dad, and on the way out, the head coach at Buckeye State offered him an assistant gig.The boys move back to their dorm now that the pipe's fixed, and Cassidy's house suddenly feels very empty. Before the next game, the players demand that Cassidy give their pump-up speech. Afterwards, Logan tells her he's not going anywhere.After the game, the big donor shows up again. He says the coach called him, persuaded him to come, and he's looked over the full proposal. He tells Cassidy and Logan they make a great team — and he's in.The movie ends with Cassidy telling Logan that the team's going to do family dinner at her place every Sunday — and she wants him there, but is also totally down to hang out one-on-one anytime. Bill puts his prized possession on the mantel—a signed Babe Ruth baseball.The next day, Scotty runs to the nearby baseball field to see if he can make some friends. A fly ball comes right to him, and it doesn't go well. As he fumbles for the ball, he's terrified by this… Beast… on the other side of the fence. The kids give him a hard time for not knowing how to throw or catch. Scotty goes home, asks Bill to teach him again, and ends up with a black eye.The next day, despite the other kids not wanting him to play, the team's best player, Benny, says they should give him a shot because they need a full team. Benny teaches him to throw and catch, and soon Scotty starts to fit in.One day, Ham smacks a home run into the Beast's yard. When Smalls asks about the Beast, the boys hold a sleepover and share the legend of the terrifying dog who lives beyond the fence.The boys become best friends and do best friend stuff—like hanging out at the pool and celebrating the Fourth of July. But at the end of the day, it all comes back to baseball.One afternoon, Benny absolutely crushes their only ball. With Bill out of town, Smalls thinks he's got the solution: he'll grab the one from the mantel. What Smalls doesn't realize is that the ball is signed by Babe Ruth. When he hits his first home run with it, he proudly tells the guys it was signed by “some girl named Ruth.” They freak out once they realize what he's done.The boys quickly forge Babe Ruth's signature on a new ball as a temporary replacement while they try to get the real one back. But the Beast doesn't make it easy.After a dream where Babe Ruth himself tells Benny about being a legend, Benny decides to take matters into his own hands. He hops the fence. The dog—who turns out to just be a big, playful pup—chases Benny all around town. Eventually, Benny makes it back, but the Beast crashes through the fence and gets stuck. Scotty and Benny free him, and the dog gratefully licks Smalls' face before leading them to his stash of baseballs.The boys meet Mr. Mertle, the Beast's owner, and are shocked to learn that he knew Babe Ruth personally. Mr. Mertle gives Smalls a ball signed by the entire 1927 Yankees in exchange for weekly baseball chats.The gang eventually grows up and goes their separate ways. Smalls? He's revealed to be the sports commentator from the beginning, still best friends with Benny, who goes on to play for the Dodgers. Unfortunately, Bianca is struggling with acreative slump and needs help managing her booth. While Holly assists Bianca, she also secretlydisplays her own art under a pseudonym and her vibrant work becomes a surprise hit,overshadowing Bianca's work and challenging the fair's traditional norms. Holly does everything shecan to help Bianca without giving away her identity while also growing closer to Jack, but unfortunately Walter, a news reporter, discovers the mystery and outs Holly, shattering her relationship with both Bianca and Jack. Big ones.Celeste finds herself not only getting into birds, but also getting into John. She's falling for him for real. And it's clear he's falling for her too—until the big dance. When he won't confirm whether it's a real date and declares it's all just present, Celeste gets frustrated, and leaves early.John realizes he's messed up. So, in true Hallmark fashion, the movie ends with him showing up at Morgan's art show to confess that he stopped pretending a long time ago. To make matters worse, Billy curses out an ump in front of his mom.When his mom decides to go out with Lou for her birthday, Billy spite-benches him, which leads to a losing skid. Eventually, Billy admits he's not having fun anymore and tells his mom he's tired of being a grown-up. He apologizes to the team and reinstates Lou.The Twins bounce back, and after winning their last games, they face Seattle in a one-game playoff. Down to their final out, Lou steps up to the plate. Before batting, he tells Billy he asked his mom to marry him, and she said, “Ask Billy.” Billy tells him he can marry her whether he hits a homer or not.Lou faces Randy Johnson and smacks a long fly ball to center—it looks like a home run, but Ken Griffey Jr. robs it. Season over.Billy tells the players he's officially stepping down as manager. They push back, but he insists he'll still be around as owner. She grabs her gun and finds a wounded Yankee outside. Even though helping him could get her in trouble, she brings him in and stitches him up. He falls asleep, wakes up, and hears her sing O Holy Night—after which he just casually mumbles that he loves her.They eat and sing Up on the Housetop together, which somehow inspires her to decorate for Christmas. There's something off about this guy, but I can't quite place it. Then he recites A Visit from St. Nicholas and asks her to sing again, so they do The First Noel.That's when he breaks the news: her grandpa isn't coming home. He says they spent hours together by a fire, had a heart-to-heart, grandpa wrote a poem to God…and then died. To cope, she sings Silent Night. Naturally.They have a quick “nuanced” conversation about slavery and then immediately slide into What Child Is This. She says goodnight, and that's when he drops the bomb: he actually killed her grandpa after grandpa shot him in the back. Oh, and by the way, they knew each other as kids and were first loves. He gives her another letter from grandpa, and they cap it all off by singing a slow version of Jingle Bells.He proposes, she says yes, and they celebrate on the porch. Then—plot twist—it turns out they're in one of Krampus' snow globes, and suddenly everything makes sense. This brings Frank Jr. to tears.Mae admits she's worried she's like the men in her family. Jay reminds her that she's more like her momma, and that's enough for him. He proposes again.Nancy is relieved when she finds out Frank Jr. is safe with Gus, and he finally gives her a proper apology.Amanda and Sergio make it through the night without kissing, and just when it looks like they might finally lock lips, they're interrupted by Frankie.The episode ends with Mae stepping out of hiding, shocked at the devastation the storm has left behind. Gabriella runs a café that doesn't serve cappuccinos in the afternoon, so they keep bumping into each other. Friction turns into sexual tension, and Jackson even builds her a new website. But he insists, “Nothing is going to happen between us,” hesitant to love again after his divorce.When his sons visit, they encourage him to go to a masked dance. Hesitant at first, he ends up dancing with a masked stranger—and it's hot, hot, hot. He even dips her! But he leaves before discovering her identity.The next day at the café, Gabriella slips, and Jackson catches her—dip style—realizing it was the same woman from the dance. They talk it out, and she admits she didn't realize it was him. When the car breaks down, they walk back together through the city. He opens up about his past, and she admits she knew it was him at the dance all along. Just as they're about to kiss, a sprinkler goes off—because, apparently, wet kisses are forbidden.Jackson joins Gabriella for dinner at her father's house and initially doubts their relationship can work. She reminds him, “We'll always have that dance.” Realizing he's been foolish, Jackson decides to stay—and they finally kiss.The story cuts back to Betty, the narrator. Milo shows up and confesses he's loved her since they were kids. They get married, everyone gives endless speeches, and then they all dance. Finally, the groomsmen perform their special dance again. During the game, the opposing team hits a home run… and, naturally, Henry throws it back. But this isn't just any throw—the ball rockets all the way to the catcher!The Cubs' management is shocked to learn the incredible throw came from an 11-year-old boy. Desperate to save the struggling team, general manager Larry “The Fish” Fisher recruits Henry. They sign him to a contract and, in front of a sellout crowd, make him pitch in the first game. It doesn't go perfectly… but the Cubs still win.Before long, Henry starts hitting his stride. With the wins come sponsorships, fame, and attention—but he begins to drift away from his friends. Realizing he's lost sight of what matters, Henry decides to retire at the end of the season. They reveal that Scrooge himself was murdered, and now the four of them are bound together, dependent on one another for redemption. Oh, and Fan? She's Scrooge's sister, though he doesn't remember her.They wander around purgatory for a while, collecting mirrors that let them glimpse the soul they're meant to save: a woman named Angel.Cut to present-day Oklahoma. Their mission begins at a bar called The Boar's Den. Scrooge is immediately tossed out, so they seek out Angel's mom to learn more about her. Eventually, they track Angel to her workplace—a thrift store, oddly enough, run by a young version of Ebenezer Scrooge. Angel is fired for being too kind.Out of options, she goes to The Boar's Den for a job. The shady owner assures her he can “find something that'll work for a beautiful woman like you.” Bad vibes all around.Since Angel's true dream is to become a singer, Scrooge and Fan work to make it happen. They rescue her from the big bad guy and connect her with a local music manager. On Christmas Eve, Angel gets her chance to shine at a showcase—and she nails it. Everything seems perfect, and they're both very impressed.At dinner, things get awkward when the staff starts arguing. Reagan, the on-site cop, begins questioning the company's hiring practices. But soon, it's game time — and the tech is mind-blowing, featuring Bluetooth phone integration and even a hologram. Jason and Emilia dive into solving the puzzles, but then chaos strikes. A tiny dart shoots out of a bookshelf and hits Reagan in the neck. It's tipped with honey — which she's allergic to. Moments later, their Bluetooth game box explodes. When they return to the room where Reagan collapsed, her body has vanished.One by one, more people “die” — three victims in total — yet none of their bodies are found. Emilia realizes she was the actual target, since she too is allergic to honey. Determined to solve the case, Jason and Emilia hunker down with their trusty whiteboard to crack the mystery.In the end, the shocking twist is revealed: it was all part of the game. No one really died, and Mystery Mountain remains murder-free. Relieved, Jason and Emilia celebrate the victory with their long-awaited first kiss.
