A series that documents my experience of psychosis & schizophrenia with the aim of of dispelling some of the myths associated with this disorder & giving people an insight into the strange world of delusions & hallucinations.
In this episode I talk about my journey as a young person dealing with mental health difficulties & my perception of stigma and why it is important to break stigma.
For this episode I'm going to be talking about my experience of hearing voices, how it's changed over the years & where I think the voices come from.
In this episode I will be reading excerpts from the notebooks I filled up in the hospital last year when I was very unwell. What I wrote documents some of the strange beliefs I had at the time during an 8 week involuntary admission in a psychiatric hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
This episode explores my experiences of having psychosis & as the first episode in the series I give an overview of my experience since being diagnosed with schizophrenia & I talk about my first episode when I was admitted to a psychiatric unit in North London. I go on to explore the definition of a delusion & give my own thoughts on how we can define losing touch with reality when reality itself is subjective.
