Welcome to Growth 4 Educators where we focus on change for the educator so that change in the profession is possible. We are bringing you tactical information to be the best educator and human being possible. Begin working on you, and you relationships with your students get a whole lot easier.
The reality is, we as educators will all expire in the classroom. The question becomes, will you choose your expiration date? Or will you expire and become moldy? I would love it if you would give this article on expiration dates a read. What are your thoughts?
There isn't a right/wrong or black/white answer. It truly is personal and specific for you. However, I do believe most educators are not supposed to have a 40 year career in education. We must work on ourselves to know when/if the time is right to step away from the classroom or building. In this episode we feature two educators who probably need a change of some sort and dive in to what is keeping most of us from taking the leap OUT of education.
In this episode, I talk a little about my first teaching role and how it shaped my mindset about education today. I also talk about having the difficult conversations with educators about when it's time to move on. Maybe they're burnt out and want to do something new. Maybe they never belonged in education to begin with. It's time we start having those conversations.
Episode 1 - The beginning. I take a shallow dive into my background, what I'm up to since leaving education and how we can get education back on track. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to listen.
