Take Flight with flight attendant Chris Harding! Learn more about your new career in aviation.
The advice I received that changed my life in how I dealt with anxiety. It will change yours too.
We as flight crew have been trained to calm and reassure others. All to often we find ourselves taking this habit into our own lives. In both our job and in life we will experience turbulence. As you well know, it is the leading cause of injury in our industry. And we can find ourselves being hurt by it in both our personal and professional lives. Know that like in an aircraft, it is okay to occupy the jumpseat. It is okay to not respond to every call button when it jeopardizes your safety. And know that safety always comes before comfort. If you become incapacitated or injured, you will not be able to adequately help the others around you.
In this Episode I talk about a recent group/movement created to combat depression in the aviation community.
In this I talk about some tips on what you may want to be financially prepared for going into this industry. And some potential expenses you may want to look into when choosing a company and location.
In the “If I Had To Do It Again” series I will be talking about what I would do if I had to start the entire process of becoming a flight attendant over again with the knowledge I have now. Today’s topic is: Finding The Ideal Company!
Stop comparing yourself to others and focus on being a better version of yourself! Rather than being intimidated by what people have accomplished, choose to learn from what they have accomplished. If they have forged a road to what you wish to accomplish, do not reinvent any wheels, find mentor ship, and you should reach the destination even faster than they have if you avoid hitting all of the speed bumps (mistakes) they had on the path to where they are today.
So you are looking at becoming a flight attendant? Great! I would love more than anything to be the first to welcome you to the friendly skies! Today I will be giving a basic intro about me, Importance of finding mentors vs listening to outside influencers, advise on where to get started with this hiring process, and the future of the podcast!
