The Visiting Artist Seminar is a unique course for students who are aspiring artists and/or intend to work in the field of visual arts after completing school. It is designed partly as an introduction to the work and ideas of our School of Art's Visiting Artists who come from across the country and abroad. These artists represent a diverse range of cultural perspectives and artistic practices. This course also includes the topic of artists’ professional practices and critical writing. Because we always have different visiting artists each semester, the content of this course changes each semester. Visiting Artists: Our visitors include long-term and short-term Visiting Artists. Three long-term Visiting Artists will teach the class for either two, three or four week segments and also present a public lecture. Long-term Visiting Artists may incorporate hands-on studio work as part of the seminar class in addition to readings, lectures, and discussions.
