Jay Leno joins the conversation as deputies track a Jeep reported stolen. The show rolls into a big Disney giveaway, plus a wild story of a SoCal couple hit with an $8,000 utility bill. Sizzler is revamping as the nostalgic ’80s chain pushes for a full comeback. They also break down the skyrocketing cost to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge—now estimated between $4.3 and $5.2 billion, more than double earlier projections. Mark highlights the new UCI all-electric hospital opening in December 2025, the first of its kind in the nation, noting he was an early adopter of solar. And Conway ends the hour with some classic “cold-slaps” at Thompson—insults, yes, but allegedly helpful. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this remastered episode from November 2022, we examine the constantly shifting alibi that Alex Murdaugh's defense team presented in the weeks before his murder trial. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell break down how Dick Harpootlian and Jim Griffin manipulated media coverage through strategically timed motions and carefully worded statements that technically told the truth while omitting crucial context. This episode also reveals the five key elements of a Murdaugh defense motion and shows how the defense team planted seeds of doubt through confusing exhibits and sensational headlines. Plus we reflect on what we now know after Alex's conviction, this episode serves as a masterclass in media literacy and the importance of scrutinizing sources—especially when they have a history of misleading the public. This year, there were a few records that delivered less-than-optimal returns on either the Hot 100 or the Billboard 200 – and they all came from former Disney pop stars.  Demi Lovato's latest album peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200, where it spent one week and then fell off; Selena Gomez's record with Benny Blanco peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, but no songs cracked the top 40; and Miley Cyrus's album is her shortest charting project to date. From Back to the Future-style time hopping to EPCOT engineering, this one covers a little bit of everything—so buckle up, because the flux capacitor is… well, metaphorically humming. We kick things off with a big one: If you had one day to time travel to any Disney park in history, where and when are you landing? Parade nostalgia, extinct attractions, retro vibes—nothing is off the table. Then, we get delightfully nerdy as we design a brand-new World Showcase Lagoon attraction and pitch a fresh Skyliner route that Imagineering will probably ignore but shouldn't. Over on Twitter, we tackle what kind of perk could actually convince us to buy direct DVC—and yes, we get honest. Instagram brought the planning heat: Pop Century vs. French Quarter for a June family trip, Skyliner convenience vs. resort charm, and how to tackle Fourth of July fireworks across a three-night celebration.Plus, we wrap up with a festive bite of holiday goodness as we spotlight Columbia Harbour House's Gingerbread Cake—because every Q&A needs a little sugar. Tune in, laugh along, and keep those questions coming!

If you were around in 2006, whether you were an elementary school kid or a high school teen, you were probably watching Hannah Montana. This series was such a massive deal that Bailey was bullied in the 4th grade for not being allowed to watch it.  Hannah Montana follows the chaotic double life of Miley Stewart (played by real life queer icon Miley Cyrus) as she navigates being a “regular high schooler” while hiding her secret drag identity as pop star Hannah Montana from everyone except her very best girlfriend, Lilly. This girl spends 4 whole seasons literally going in and out of the largest closet we've ever seen, a closet she and Lilly go in specifically to transform into their flamboyant alter egos, Hannah Montana and Lola Luftnagle. Miley's wig collection likely rivals Chappell Roan's and we all had a pair of those baggy cargo shorts that Lilly was always rocking while skateboarding into view. Yet, Disney still forced us to watch 4 seasons of Miley and Lilly's chemistry being tossed aside for lame, forgettable boys.  We know one thing for sure, Hannah Montana Should've Been Gay. Don't forget to stream Bailey's debut single, Bittersweet Bitch, for Olivia Rodrigo vibes and a sick Hannah Montana inspired guitar solo.  Stop giving your money away to billionaires and shop small & queer for the holigays at bit.ly/lezmerch! This week Frank celebrates his birthday in the studio with Jon, keeps the vibes relaxed, and still manages to pack in a full slate of geek news and debates. The two kick things off with updates on Shogun Season 2, breaking down the ten year time jump, the politics of feudal Japan, and how Western audiences connect with Asian history and tropes on screen. From there they pivot to Valve's newly announced Steam Machine concept and what it means for the future of consoles, PC gaming, and cloud streaming. Then it is trailer time. Frank and John react to the new Fallout Season 2 trailer and its New Vegas setting, the Super Mario Galaxy movie trailer from Illumination, and the first official images from the live action Legend of Zelda movie. They also dig into Disney's Moana live action remake and use it as a springboard to talk about when fans want faithful recreations and when they actually want a fresh take. In the second half, Frank launches a new recurring bit called Shallow Dives, a timed debate game where one host takes a position and the other plays devil's advocate. Topics this round include whether physical media is really coming back, if critic and audience scores should be hidden for a movie's first week, and how central cosplay is to modern fandom. The episode wraps with recommendations for Welcome to Derry and a timely revisit of V for Vendetta. Timestamps and Topics 00:00 – Birthday intro, in person recording, and why this episode is more relaxed 01:00 – Shogun Season 2 news, ten year time jump, and how the show handles Japanese history and European trade politics 05:30 – Valve's new Steam Machine concept, console vs PC, and why price point might decide its fate 11:20 – Fallout Season 2 trailer reaction, New Vegas connections, Elvis ghoul Kings, and Macaulay Culkin's role 15:40 – Super Mario Galaxy movie trailer, Bowser in a jar, Bowser Jr, Rosalina, and Illumination's animation style and music 18:20 – First look at the live action Legend of Zelda movie and a deeper talk about faithful adaptations vs reinterpretations 24:00 – Moana live action trailer, shot for shot remakes, green screen fatigue, and who these remakes are really for 28:15 – Introducing Shallow Dives, the 5 minute debate game and how it might work at conventions 29:30 – Shallow Dive 1: Is physical media actually making a comeback or is streaming still king 35:00 – Shallow Dive 2: Should critic and audience scores be hidden for the first week of release 41:00 – Shallow Dive 3: Is cosplay a core part of fandom or its own parallel hobby 46:20 – Weekly recommendations: Welcome to Derry and why V for Vendetta still matters 48:10 – Wrap up and sign off Key Takeaways Shogun Season 2 will jump ten years into the Edo era, exploring what it means for Toranaga to not just conquer Japan but govern it while foreign powers like Portugal and Britain push for control. For Western viewers, Shogun can be a gateway into Asian history and storytelling, with Frank and John comparing it to Game of Thrones style politics filtered through a real world lens. Valve's new Steam Machine raises real questions about timing and audience, but John argues that if the device hits the right price and lives in the living room it could appeal to younger PC focused players and convention setups. The Fallout Season 2 trailer leans hard into New Vegas iconography, from Elvis themed ghoul factions to Roman inspired forces, while doubling down on the tension between Lucy's idealism and the brutal wasteland reality. The Super Mario Galaxy movie and the Zelda live action first look both seem to be chasing a very faithful visual style, keeping game aesthetics intact while polishing them for film, especially through music and world design. Moana's live action remake sparks a bigger conversation about when fans want a nearly shot for shot remake and when they want a reinterpretation, with both hosts skeptical about the flat, overly digital look of some recent remakes. In the Shallow Dives segment, the physical media debate lands on a nuanced middle ground: streaming is convenient, but physical and local digital collections still matter for ownership, longevity, and curation. The discussion about scores leads Frank to explain why Geek Freaks removed numeric ratings from posts, preferring to describe how a story feels instead of flattening it to a single number. On cosplay, both hosts agree that it might be its own fandom as much as a subset of any one property, but it absolutely boosts the sense of community and safety at cons by signaling "you are with your people." Memorable Quotes "I would rather put out a relaxed episode than no episode." "Each vault in Fallout is just a wild experiment, and that weirdness is the charm of the show." "Physical media might not be for everyone anymore, but owning a copy means nobody can pull it off your shelf overnight." "Reviews should tell you how a story makes you feel, not just slap a number on it." "Cosplay is like an instant signal that you are in a safe place to be as nerdy as you want." Welcome to Episode 151 of Wrestling Tonight, powered by G FUEL and Dick Lazers — use code TAVERN for 20% off. Acefield Retro is riding solo this week, and there's plenty to sort through across all three major promotions. AEW heads into Newark for Full Gear 2025, approaching the event as a marker for where the company stands heading into the new year. A steel cage world title match, a women's rivalry reaching its conclusion, the introduction of a new championship, and the lingering fallout from last week's Blood & Guts — including the first women's version of the match — give this show a lot of moving parts. AEW is promoting Full Gear as a "supercard," and the layout suggests they're aiming to steady the direction heading into 2026. In TNA, Turning Point left the company with more questions than answers. Frankie Kazarian's cash-in, the situation surrounding Mike Santana's weekend, and another NXT appearance have made the ongoing crossover angle feel increasingly unsettled. The matches were strong, but the overall perception of TNA's trajectory continues to be a topic of discussion. Over in WWE, the biggest story is straightforward: John Cena has completed the Grand Slam, and the "Last Time Is Now" tournament has begun. A mix of returning veterans, familiar rivals, NXT talent, and established stars are competing for the spot in what is expected to be Cena's final match. With three-hour SmackDowns returning and adjustments happening up and down the roster, the tournament is already influencing the company's direction. This week also brought the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame announcements, always a point of conversation regarding criteria, regional voting, and modern representation. Plus: NXT roster movement, reports of tension in AEW's locker room, Bound for Glory attendance concerns, notable returns on Raw, and even Punk and Roman Reigns appearing in upcoming Disney projects.

Taylor Scott is a hospitality lifer turned leadership coach who cut his teeth at Walt Disney World, led sales at Disney Vacation Club, and earned his MBA from Cornell's Hotel School. He's the author of Lead with Hospitality and the leadership fable Give Hospitality, translating world-class service principles into practical playbooks for teams. Susan and Taylor talk about connection, culture, and coaching. What You'll Learn About: • Why "don't reply to everything" is terrible leadership advice. • How sales and leadership mirror each other: build trust fast, influence behavior faster. • The Connect–Serve–Engage–Inspire framework you can run on a busy lobby shift. • LEAD as a service checklist: Listen, Educate, Act, Deliver. • The mindset shift from SOP security blanket to entrepreneurial trial-and-error. • Grad school's real ROI: "building shelves" in your brain + a global network. • How to lead high achievers with the 3 C's: Choice, Competence, Community. • "Guest first, team always" and "Purpose over policy" as decision filters. • Turning fear-based flailing (hello, mushroom panic) into guest-centered choices. • Why the next leadership frontier is re-teaching human connection in an AI world. Our Top Three Takeaways 1. Leadership and Sales Share the Same Core: Connection and Influence Taylor makes the case that sales is leadership, and leadership is sales. In both roles, success depends on making people trust and like you quickly, then inspiring them to take action. His "Lead with Hospitality" framework — Connect, Serve, Engage, Inspire — provides a clear path for achieving this in daily operations: connect with people on a human level, serve them first, engage with generosity and purpose, and inspire them through storytelling and authenticity. 2. The Best Leaders Create Environments for Motivation Drawing from the self-determination theory, Taylor explains that people become self-motivated when they experience choice, competence, and community — his "three C's." High achievers, in particular, thrive when leaders give them autonomy, recognize their expertise, and foster a sense of belonging. Leadership isn't about control; it's about designing the conditions where people can thrive. 3. Purpose Over Policy: Leading with Humanity From his experiences at Disney and Cosmopolitan, Taylor emphasizes two enduring leadership mantras: "Guest first, team always" and "Purpose over policy." Great leaders prioritize people and purpose over rigid rules, empowering teams to make guest-centered decisions. As hospitality evolves with AI and generational change, Taylor predicts the next frontier of leadership will be relearning how to connect on a human level — teaching empathy, conversation, and connection in an increasingly digital world. A Day in Disney's Animal Kingdom: A Complete Guide to Adventure and AweArriving early is one of the best ways to experience Animal Kingdom. As you walk across the bridge from the Oasis toward the Tree of Life, the park begins to reveal itself slowly. Birds call from hidden perches, foliage rustles, and the elaborate carvings on the Tree of Life seem to come alive in the morning light. If you plan to experience the attractions in Pandora, heading directly there is wise. The Wait time for Avatar Flight of Passage is shortest in the morning and gives you a breathtaking ride through the landscapes of Pandora. For a gentler but equally beautiful experience, Na'vi River Journey offers a serene boat ride through bioluminescent forests.Once the initial rush settles, the park becomes a haven for exploration. The Kilimanjaro Safaris ride is a must. It is one of the rare theme park experiences where no two rides are the same, thanks to the movement and moods of the animals. Morning to late morning is a great window, as many animals are active before the heat of the day.Exploring the walking trails, such as the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail or the Maharajah Jungle Trek, brings a quieter appreciation of the park. These trails allow you to move at your own pace, read interpretive displays, and spend time watching animals in habitats that feel remarkably open and natural. If you are hungry, Animal Kingdom has some of Disney's best food options. Satu'li Canteen offers customizable bowls that are fresh and flavorful, while Flame Tree Barbecue delivers hearty classics with scenic seating by the water.By afternoon, it is time for some excitement. Expedition Everest is the park's signature roller coaster, blending speed, storytelling, and one infamous guardian of the mountain. Even if you do not usually seek out thrill rides, Everest has a unique charm that comes from its details and immersive queue.Nearby, Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond provides a beautifully staged musical break inside a cool, dark theater. For an even deeper dive into nature and culture, Festival of the Lion King remains one of Disney's most celebrated live productions, offering breathtaking vocals, acrobatics, and choreography inspired by the film.If heat or crowds rise, this is a great time to pause with a cold drink or take a slow walk through Discovery Island, stopping to look at the often-overlooked animal exhibits surrounding the Tree of Life.As sunset approaches, the park transforms. Pandora's glowing plants begin to pulse with color, and the atmosphere shifts from lively to enchanting. This is a perfect time to walk the pathways between the floating mountains, taking in the sounds and details that are easy to miss during the day.Dinner options like Tiffins or Yak and Yeti offer relaxing, flavorful meals to close out your exploration. Afterward, enjoy a final walk past the softly lit Tree of Life. The nighttime awakenings, featuring projection shows with animal themes, are subtle but magical, offering a reflective end to the day.A day in Animal Kingdom is not just about rides or shows but about stepping into a world that celebrates exploration, conservation, and imagination. It offers a pace unlike any other Disney park, encouraging you to slow down, observe, and connect with the stories and animals around you. Whether this is your first visit or your tenth, the park always finds new ways to surprise and inspire.

This week's episode is a full buffet of sports takes, random debates, and pure foolishness. Felix and Beav start by wishing the Brothers of Omega Psi Phi a happy Founders's Day and thank everyone who came out to celebrate over the rainy weekend. Beav then kicks things off with "Dre's Top 5". Then we slide into Quick Hits, headlined by LeBron officially returning to the Lakers, because of course he is—L.A. property taxes need him. Meanwhile in Inglewood, the Clippers new signing  Bradley Beal is hurt again. Then things take a left turn into food anthropology as the fellas argue "How do you eat a taco?" Thanks to Skattabo, we learn way too much about folding technique, structural integrity, and the philosophy behind biting etiquette. From here, we enter Rule Breakers, and the segment does NOT disappoint: A 50-year-old father and his son suiting up together for Compton CC like it's a Disney+ special nobody asked for. A Michael Jordan impersonator furious he wasn't cast for something, reminding everyone why impersonators usually stay impersonating. Cam Newton pulling up on HBCU leadership 15 dudes packed in one car to go rob somebody—an operation so inefficient even GTA would glitch. And finally, a man who got tackled in the middle of church, proving that the Lord may forgive you, but security will not. It's sports, it's comedy, it's chaos. Another week of takes you didn't ask for, but absolutely needed. Enjoy!

In this November 2022 episode—remastered with updated context—Mandy Matney dissects one of Dick Harpootlian's most shameful pre-trial stunts: publicly insinuating Curtis "Eddie" Smith of being the "real killer" based on a failed polygraph test. Watch Dick spiral through desperate theories—from Eddie to groundskeepers to anyone but Alex—while Creighton Waters finally fights back against the media manipulation. Learn about the crucial evidence: high-velocity impact spatter, Paul's phone video destroying Alex's alibi, and the timeline that placed Alex at the scene. This episode also tackles Judge Carmen Mullen's alleged abuse of power and captures the moment Dick compared himself to... Abraham Lincoln...?With trial just weeks away, Dick's chaos strategy was in full effect. Spoiler: it didn't work. The jury saw through everything within just a few hours of deliberating.
