We're recapping a wild Walt Disney World weekend that included car camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, trying out Lightning Lane Multi Pass over two full park days, eating our way around property, and finally getting to experience newly reopened attractions like Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster, Smuggler's Run, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Ranger Spin, and Soarin. We'll talk about the realities of Disney car camping, including setup, comfort, requesting the perfect campsite near the comfort station, nighttime campground vibes, and whether we'd actually do it again. Along the way, we packed in a ton of attractions across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios, including Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, TRON, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and more. Of course, there's also plenty of food discussion, including breakfast at Steakhouse 71, drinks and snacks at The Beak and Barrel, flatbreads at Baseline Tap House, dinner at Trail's End Restaurant, and an impromptu brunch stop at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' before heading home. Cheri talks about growing up in a rough house with a lot of kids and a young mom and pretending to escape and maybe grab some attention. She talks about imitating TV shows, soap operas and Joe Cocker. She talks about moving from Pennsylvania to California to pursue dreams of acting after a break-up and found herself in the heart of Panorama City nowhere near Hollywood.  Later she found early success in LA @ A&M RECORDS. In fact she was so successful it was a little hard to give it up when it was time to start performing full time after she became a star at THE GROUNDLINGS. She talks about how her writing at The Groundlings helped her at SNL. How Laraine Newman was always encouraging even while breast feeding. How Matt Piedmont and Will Ferril were great writing partners. How sitcoms are pure fun. And how making charcuterie boards with vaguely dirty names is going to change the world for the better. Bio: Cheri Oteri was born in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia and later moved to LA, where she worked in promotions for A&M Records. She joined the Groundlings, and in 1995, the producers of Saturday Night Live saw one of her monologues, which led to an audition and eventually being hired as a cast member, where she starred for five seasons.  As of late, Cheri can be seen recurring on Happy's Place for NBC, Mid Century Modern for HULU as well as in And Just Like That… for MAX. She has also appeared in several films, including Scary Movie, Inspector Gadget, Liar Liar, Dumb and Dumberer,Shrek the Third, Southland Tales, and Grown Ups 2. In 2009, Oteri became a regular voice on Fox's animated comedy series Sit Down, Shut Up, which later moved to Comedy Central. She also voiced “Esther” on Disney's Puppy Dog Pals. Cheri has made multiple guest appearances on sitcoms such as The CW's My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, TruTV's Those Who Can't, NBC's Just Shoot Me! (in which she was nominated for an Emmy), Hot in Cleveland, and as an emotionally unstable nanny on the Golden Globe and Emmy award winning series Curb Your Enthusiasm. Operation Tidal Wave was a coordinated federal action in which CBP and HSI agents boarded eight cruise ships docked in San Diego and detained 27 crew members allegedly connected to CSAM — child sexual abuse material — based on intelligence provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Agents had identified targets before the vessels arrived. Ten reportedly served aboard the Disney Magic. Four were employed by Holland America. All 27 were deported within approximately two weeks. KPBS confirmed that as of their reporting, federal prosecutors in both the Southern District of California and the Central District of California had no record of charges filed against any of the detained crew.The absence of prosecution raises a procedural question with systemic implications: if deportation without criminal proceedings is the default federal response, no public record is created, no registry entry is generated, and no mechanism exists to prevent the same individuals from being rehired through the same third-party agencies that placed them originally.The prosecuted cases across the industry illustrate what the screening system is failing to catch. A Royal Caribbean cabin attendant was sentenced to 30 years after pleading guilty to placing hidden recording devices in passenger cabins — families with passengers as young as two were among those secretly recorded. A Celebrity Cruises youth program counselor allegedly went undetected for four months while deliberately avoiding security cameras, according to an FBI affidavit. A 6-year-old passenger was the one who reported it. Two Princess Cruises employees received a combined 45 years for pursuing a teenager and exchanging illegal material involving very young children.
