The Avengers: Doomsday trailer has fans convinced there are two Doctor Dooms in this movie, and that one of them might not be Robert Downey Jr. at all. Frank and Squeaks break down the eye color, the two suits, and the Cillian Murphy voice theory, then look at what happens to Marvel when Kevin Feige's contract runs out in 2027. From there it turns into a full state of the franchises. The Feige succession list runs from Brad Winderbaum to Louis D'Esposito to one genuine wild card pick, before Star Wars gets put on the table: the Ahsoka trailer, Thrawn's return, Starfighter, and whether the Rey movie ever actually happens. Then Pirates of the Caribbean, where Disney is reportedly writing two competing scripts, and Frank pitches the real seventeenth century pirate queen whose story would beat both of them. Plus a Dungeon Crawler Carl check-in and a Question of the Week about how you would prove someone is an alien. 0:00 Intro and BlizzCon Countdown 1:34 Question of the Week: How Do You Test for an Alien 3:16 The Two Doctor Dooms Theory 11:05 Who Replaces Kevin Feige in 2027 22:36 Star Wars Without the Skywalker Name 29:33 Ahsoka, Thrawn, and the Sequel Era Gaps 34:15 Pirates of the Caribbean and Its Two Competing Scripts 46:22 Dungeon Crawler Carl Check-In Key takeaways: The two Doom theory rests on three small trailer details: the eyes reading green in one shot and closer to blue in another, two distinct suits, and a voice some fans think sounds more like Cillian Murphy than RDJ. There is precedent too, since dueling Dooms from different universes is the current main story in Marvel Rivals. Frank's argument for a recast is about longevity. RDJ's betrayal only works once as a surprise, so if Doom is meant to carry the MCU past Secret Wars, you need an actor you can keep around. The Feige succession shortlist: Brad Winderbaum brings television experience and would likely greenlight Midnight Sons immediately, Louis D'Esposito is the operations veteran who would need a creative partner like the Russos, and Frank's wild card is Iman Vellani, who is now writing comics for Marvel and Image. Both hosts want Star Wars to break from the Skywalker name completely, with Dave Filoni doing for the sequels what The Clone Wars did for the prequels. Frank also makes the case that Ahsoka, not Rey, is the real heir to the Anakin lineage. Disney has two Pirates scripts in play, one led by Margot Robbie as Red and one featuring younger versions of the original cast. Squeaks calls the Red version predictable, and Frank counters with Zheng Yi Sao, a real pirate commander the Chinese government eventually had to negotiate with instead of fight. Frank: "I'd actually respect Marvel for keeping a secret for once." Frank: "I've been hurt too many times by Kevin Feige." Squeaks: "It's time to go away from the Skywalker in total." Frank: "The true descendant to Anakin is not Rey. It's not even Luke. Frankly, it is Ahsoka." Squeaks: "That's the same thing we see everywhere. Find something new." All news discussed on this episode comes from GeekFreaksPodcast.com. If you have a theory about which Doom is the real one, follow the show on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and leave a review so more people find these breakdowns. D23 2026 wasn't just about the future of the Disney Parks. Disney also unveiled a massive slate of movies, animation, television, and more—and there was so much to discuss that we're splitting our Entertainment Showcase coverage into two episodes! In Part 1, we dig into Disney's upcoming movie and animation slate, including The Simpsons Movie, Lilo & Stitch 2, The Bluey Movie, Ice Age: Boiling Point, the live-action Tangled, Oswald, Incredibles 3, Coco 2, Gatto, Ghost Market, Romy & Michele 2, Frozen 3, Zootopia 3, Hexed, and Clay. Which announcements actually got us excited? Which sequels feel justified? Which originals caught our attention? And how deep into its enormous library of characters and franchises is Disney willing to go? Along the way, we start noticing an interesting pattern: for all the talk about Disney relying on sequels and familiar IP, both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation are still putting original movies on the slate. That raises a much bigger question we'll be coming back to soon. And we're not finished with D23 yet! Part 2 continues with Marvel, Star Wars, streaming, games, and the rest of Disney's Entertainment Showcase. What are your thoughts? Email us at show@magicourway.com, call or text  815-MOWICAN (669-4226), or slide into our social media DMs. Every thought and opinion will forever be welcome on this Disney fan podcast. Using glass as a medium to capture and refract light, David Yeshia seeks to freeze moments of transition, combining myriad elements to manipulate their visual and symbolic effects. Also a metaphor for his life at the time, Yeshia was smashing glass and rebuilding the fragments into something beautiful. A new breed of "artrepreneur," he emerged from the Covid pandemic bringing art out of the gallery and into the public marketplace by developing accessible and affordable works.  A self-taught Canadian glass artist known for his signature fused glass techniques, Yeshia has developed innovative methods including his "Glass Netting" technique, "Glascade" and signature "Free Mosaic" forms exploring glass as both structure and light. He was nominated for the Emerging Glass Artist of the Year Award by the Glass Art Society and has created sculptural works for government commissions and collectors across Canada. His work is sold at Walt Disney World, and his process-focused storytelling has attracted over 400,000 followers across social media, with his videos reaching tens of millions of views. Yeshia attended Concordia University Fine Arts, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Theater and Religious Studies. In 2017, as an exotic mushroom cultivator in Montreal, Yeshia's business was hit hard by the Covid pandemic's impact on the restaurant and food industries. At 30 years old, he moved back in with his parents in the countryside just outside of Pembroke, Ontario—emotionally drained, uncertain about the future, and feeling like a failure. Dejected, without direction, he began to experiment with glass in the stained glass studio of his father, Jeffrey Melamed, an architect turned stained glass artist.  Says Yeshia: "When I was struggling and trying to rebuild my life, my family rallied around me. Their enthusiasm for my work gave me the encouragement and confidence to keep going. My mother began attending markets, my father helped with displays, shows, and accounting, and my sister brought her creativity and many great product ideas." Yeshia's business Artglas has expanded to Markham, Ontario, and now employs a staff of seven. Early on, a pivotal meeting with Disney's Keith Bryan inspired the artist's early series of fused glass art and eventually led to his ongoing contract to design and produce ornaments for Disney. In September 2026, Artglas will return to exhibit in "The Transparent Breath," an International exhibition of glass jewelry held at Venice Glass Week. Specializing in experimental fusing techniques to create contemporary glass jewelry that represents the Canadian identity, Yeshia's Venice collection showcases his unique talents of incorporating 24-karat gold and silver into the glass. "This will be our fifth time at Venice Glass Week. It was an honor to be amongst some of the greatest glass artists of our time, in one of the world's most historic hubs of the arts," said Yeshia. "And it was overwhelming connecting with artists from all over the world, sharing our work and creativity in such an inspiring environment." In 2027, Yeshia's company will also expand its online education and subscriber platforms, open a gallery and second studio space, and create more room for one-of-a-kind and conceptual work. Artglas also has new commercial projects in development, including a Disney concept still awaiting approval. Says Yeshia: "As Artglas grew, I had to learn how to wear many different hats, including artist, maker, employer, marketer, content creator, educator, salesperson, and business owner, while still preserving the meaning, symbolism, and quality of the work."

Ramit unpacks how to stop overspending, stay out of debt, and start building wealth as this couple confronts the spending habits they thought they had already fixed. Three years ago, Mason and Becca finally confronted a financial reality they had been avoiding. Despite good careers and the appearance of success, they had accumulated nearly $50,000 in credit card debt. They cut back hard, aggressively paid it down, sold their house, and moved to Florida. Now they have around $100,000 from the home sale sitting in savings, but they're worried the same habits that got them into debt are starting to creep back in. They still don't properly track their spending. Shopping, expensive date nights and a large “miscellaneous” category make it difficult to see where their money is actually going, while Mason experiments with day trading and considers ideas for generating passive income. On paper, they're doing far better than they realize: they have around $204,000 invested, $124,000 in savings, and a net worth of roughly $326,000. But without changing how they spend and manage their money, Ramit sees a real risk of them falling back into debt. Ramit helps them figure out what comes after getting out of debt: how to stop mindless spending without giving up the things they love, save and invest intentionally, and start building real wealth. They rethink their plans for an $800,000 dream home, confront the scarcity they both grew up with, and discover how increasing their income and investing more could completely transform their financial future. In this episode, we uncover: How Mason and Becca built nearly $50,000 in credit card debt The conversation that finally forced them to change their spending Why they used a 401(k) loan to aggressively pay down debt How selling their house left them with around $100,000 in cash Why having that much money makes Becca anxious Why they're scared of slipping back into their old spending habits How shopping, expensive date nights, and impulse purchases added up Why they still don't properly track where their money goes How their $3,000 Disney annual passes fit into their Rich Life Why Ramit sees a real risk of them falling back into debt What Ramit sees in Mason's day trading and passive income ideas Why their $326,000 net worth surprises them How Becca's childhood shaped her belief that she would never be rich How Mason grew up seeing money as stress and struggle What they want their son to learn about money Why buying an $800,000 house would require major trade-offs How Ramit helps them rebuild their Conscious Spending Plan Why increasing their income becomes the biggest lever for their future How their retirement projection jumps from around $3.1M to $4.7M How they finally become completely debt-free Chapters: (00:00:00) Introduction (00:02:45) How they built nearly $50K in debt (00:06:39) Using a 401(k) loan to escape debt (00:08:53) Selling their house leaves them with $100,000 (00:11:15) “We just swiped the card” (00:14:37) Their old spending habits start creeping back (00:16:31) They disagree about buying another house (00:24:05) Ramit reviews their financial numbers (00:31:13) Ramit digs into their 71% fixed costs (00:37:30) Day trading and the dream of passive income (00:38:46) How Becca grew up around money (00:47:50) How Mason grew up around money (00:52:43) What they want to teach their son (00:56:41) Ramit starts rebuilding their financial plan (01:07:26) Redirecting their money toward investing (01:11:59) The reality of an $800,000 dream home (01:19:18) Why earning more becomes the priority (01:24:01) Their retirement could reach $4.7 million (01:32:15) Their house timeline changes completely (01:33:25) Mason and Becca become debt-free This episode is brought to you by: Facet | As of the date of this recording, Facet is waiving the enrollment fee for new annual members, and for my audience, Facet is offering $300 into your brokerage account if you invest and maintain $5,000 within your first 90 days. This Week In Startups is made possible by: Odoo https://Odoo.com/twist Quo https://quo.com/TWiST Conservation Fund https://conservationfund.org how old a movie has to be for me to be able to show a part of it on youtube Generally 10 seconds or less of a film clip can fall under fair use for commentary or criticism — which is how most podcasts and talk shows use clips without issue. But there's no hard legal rule based on age. What actually matters more than age is fair use, which considers: Purpose — commentary, criticism, education = stronger fair use case Amount used — shorter = safer; a 5-10 second clip for reaction/discussion is generally fine Effect on market — your clip shouldn't replace the original In practice for YouTube specifically: Most major studios have Content ID systems that will flag clips regardless of movie age — even 100-year-old films if the rights holder has registered them Public domain is the real safe zone — films from 1927 or earlier are generally in the public domain in the US. Some films from the 1928-1963 range are also public domain if copyright wasn't renewed Disney, Warner Bros., Universal etc. actively enforce even very old films For a show like TWiST showing a short reaction clip — 5-10 seconds with clear commentary context is the industry standard and rarely gets actioned. But age alone won't protect you. Today's show: *A humanoid robot ran the 100m in 9.39, breaking the human Usain Bolt's world record, while an entire stadium cheered. Jason thinks Beijing's World Humanoid Robot Games aren't a science fair, or a fun exhibition, but the best AI PR campaign on Earth. While Americans debate the data centers that train the robot brains, China is already turning them into a spectacle and world-class entertainment. Find out what Jason thinks America can do to catch up… and why he believes there will be 1 billion Optimus robots deployed by the year 2036. PLUS on an all-news TWiST, hot takes on the potential $13B Hugging Face sale (to a mystery buyer), why founders should always "buy the threat," analyzing Sam Altman's "I'm listening and I hear you" face, and are kill drones already in operation around the world? We're putting our Disney planning opinions, habits, strategies, and questionable decisions to the test with a brand-new round of Truth or Dare! We're taking turns choosing between Truth or Dare and randomly pulling from a collection of questions and challenges covering Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and general vacation planning. But which ones did we actually pull? You'll have to listen to find out. The possible Truths could have us confessing our biggest Disney planning mistakes, admitting which advice we don't always follow ourselves, revealing what guests spend way too much time worrying about, deciding which experiences aren't worth rearranging an entire day for, or exposing the planning decisions where we are most likely to disagree. And then there are the possible Dares. We could be forced to choose between giving up park hopping or Lightning Lane, pick one Walt Disney World resort to stay at for our next five trips, visit only two parks on our next vacation, choose between three nights at a Deluxe resort or seven nights at a Value, or plan a trip with some of our favorite options completely taken away. Disney Cruise Line could bring tough decisions involving staterooms, itineraries, excursions, dining, and onboard experiences. Disneyland could force us to rethink how we plan a completely different kind of Disney vacation. And the general vacation questions might reveal just how much control we're actually willing to surrender when somebody else is involved in the planning. Those are just some of the Truths and Dares waiting in the pile. Which ones did we draw? Which choices caused the biggest arguments? And what did we reveal that we probably would have preferred to keep to ourselves? There's only one way to find out. It's Disney Planning Truth or Dare!

It was one of the biggest weeks in the amusement industry in years, and Mike and EB have a ton to cover. First up: D23 - Disney's biannual fan convention, which featured Neil Patrick Harris hosting a full award-show-style presentation packed with 33 announcements about the future of Disney Parks and Experiences. The guys break down the highlights, including a Carousel of Progress refurbishment featuring new voices from Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis, a Coco-themed attraction (the IP's first ever), a Magic Kingdom Villains Land finally getting its official name, and Dream Finder and Figment returning to Journey Into Imagination at Epcot. But the biggest surprise of the night: Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom will see the return of The Yeti. (HE'S HUGE! HE'S HUGE!) Then it's Quick Hits, where Mike and EB dig into the opening of NightFlight Expedition at Dollywood and the genuinely mixed early reactions — much of it, they argue, coming from riders misunderstanding the ride's intentionally storybook visual style. Plus a live call-in from the base of Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point, giving listeners a real taste of the launch in action. The back half is a can't-miss exclusive: Silver Dollar City's Director of Content and PR, Joey Thorsen, joins the show fresh off the announcement of Miner's Mountain Express, walking through a full POV narration of the ride, introducing its brand-new skunk and bat mascots, discussing the final year of the beloved Thunderation before it closes in January, breaking down how the new Daredevil Pass connects two previously separated areas of the park, and telling the wild true story of how the ride's real 15-story mining head frame ties back to America's 250th anniversary.

As major entertainment companies like Disney, Hulu, Netflix, and Spotify increasingly invest in video podcasts, the podcast industry is becoming an even bigger part of the streaming wars. In this episode, Travis and Eric discuss what these acquisitions mean for independent podcasters, why major companies may be willing to overpay for established shows, and how podcasters can build businesses and content that are attractive to potential buyers. They also explore the role of production quality, audience distribution, and the possibility of large-scale podcast rollups. On this episode we talk about: Why Disney, Hulu, Netflix, and other major streaming platforms are investing in video podcasts Why major companies may acquire successful podcasts for distribution and audience attention rather than sponsorship revenue How podcasters could position their shows to become attractive acquisition targets Whether high-end production quality can help independent podcasts attract better guests and grow their audiences The potential for companies to acquire portfolios of thousands of independent podcasts instead of spending massive amounts on individual celebrity shows Top 3 Takeaways Podcast acquisitions are about more than sponsorship revenue. Major media companies may be buying established podcasts primarily for their built-in audiences, distribution, and ability to compete for attention in the streaming market. Build something that has strategic value. If you're starting a podcast, creating content around an established entertainment franchise, industry, or audience could potentially make the show more attractive to companies that already own related intellectual property. Production quality can create opportunities, but content still matters most. A polished production can help attract high-profile guests, create better social clips, and make a show more appealing to streaming platforms—but great production alone won't make a podcast successful. The right content for the right audience is ultimately what matters. Notable Quotes “They're not acquiring the podcast for its sponsorship revenue potentially.” “All they're trying to do is win the attention war.” “It's probably going to be the right content for the right person that makes it successful.”Connect with Travis Chappell: Podcast: Travis Makes Money Website: https://travischappell.com Instagram: https://instagram.com/travischappell Other: https://instagram.com/travismakesmoneypod A Word from Our Sponsors: - The most successful business owners don't do it all themselves — they delegate. He then used real emissions data to calculate the extent to which specific fossil fuel emitters increased the risk of extreme weather.SPEED ROUND‍ ‍DuckDuckGo Is Selling Anti Pervert Glasses That Contain Zero AI, Cameras, or Even Electronics Whatsoever Jason Kelce Wants Fans to 'Pee on Computers' to Protest AI Water Use: 'We Want Your Pee' Cards Against Humanity Unveils 'Sad Little Bitch' Elon Musk Monument Near Texas StarbaseFrance bans unsolicited telemarketing calls--$87,000 fine per call I'm the CEO of Siemens.
