Welcome to the powerful conclusion of our three-part series, "Switch Hats, Not Values - Leading with Clarity and Sanity!" In this reshared episode of the Leadership Sandbox, Tammy J. Bond brings it all home by diving into the crucial concept of the various 'hats' leaders wear and why understanding them is paramount for effective communication and healthy team dynamics. Tammy reiterates and expands on the five distinct leadership hats: the foundational Values Hat, the visionary Leader Hat, the decisive Boss Hat, the often-tricky Friend Hat, and the action-oriented Just Do It Hat. She explains how each hat plays a crucial role in your leadership style and how to navigate the challenges of transitioning between them – especially when moving from peer to leader. This episode provides practical insights on balancing different leadership styles with clarity, ensuring your values guide every decision, and ultimately building stronger team trust and empowerment. Don't miss this wrap-up that brings the entire series together! Key Takeaways for Leaders: Diverse Roles, Different Hats: Recognize that leaders wear different hats that represent distinct leadership roles and responsibilities, all influencing team dynamics. Navigating the "Friend Zone": Learn the challenges of the Friend Hat in leadership and why setting boundaries is essential to avoid confusion and maintain professional respect. Urgency & Action: The Just Do It Hat emphasizes the importance of decisive, urgent action when the situation demands it. Building Trust: Consistently wearing the appropriate hat and communicating clearly enhances team trust and fosters a positive work environment. In This Episode, You'll Learn: An overview of the five essential leadership hats and their significance in team dynamics. How your values serve as the bedrock of your effective leadership. On Day 3 at Wimbledon, the tennis continued to be dramatic, with more seeds falling in what is rapidly becoming the major theme of this tournament. In part 1 Catherine, David and Matt begin by discussing the defeat of a weary-looking Jasmine Paolini by Kamilla Rakhimova. Emma Raducanu impressed against Marketa Vondrousova, but what chance does she have against Aryna Sabalenka? We also talk about a strong performance from Madison Keys, Matt's getting excited and nervous about Amanda Anisimova's draw, and we cover disappointment for Boulter who once again lost a match at Wimbledon when she was the favourite. In part 2 (40m34s) we look at the men's draw, which has opened up further with the loss of Frances Tiafoe to a revitalised Cameron Norrie, and Lehecka to an inspired Bellucci. There's excitement about the match that's been set up between Fonseca (who beat Brooksby in arguably the best match of the day) and the resurgent Nicolas Jarry. The prospect of Chilean against Brazilian fans in round 3 is tantalising. And Taylor Fritz will finally get a day off tomorrow after delaying the pod once again with his late night five-set victory over Gabriel Diallo. There's also plenty of coverage of Carlos Alcaraz's victory over plucky Brit Oliver Tarvet. In part 3 (66m58s) we look ahead to tomorrow's order of play, in particular Dan Evans getting the chance to take on Novak Djokovic on Centre Court. Join Lionel Birnie, Graham Willgoss, Rob Hatch and François Thomazeau for the first part of The Cycling Podcast's bumper Tour de France preview. This episode focuses on the first half of the 112th Tour, which will take the riders from Lille in the north east, across to Normandy and Brittany before cutting down through the heart of France to the Massif Central. The head-to-head battle between Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard is currently tied at 2-2, with the Slovenian winning in 2021 and 2024 and the Dane taking back-to-back victories in 2022 and 2023. But, as closely-matched as they often seem, none of those four clashes has been particularly close and, as we saw at the Dauphiné last month, Pogačar seems to have the upper hand at the moment. So, will we see a battle royale between the Three Tenors – © Rob Hatch – with Remco Evenepoel one of the riders most suited to a punchy, scrappy opening week, especially with a time trial to contend with? François breaks down the route and explains what we have to look forward to before the first rest day after ten stages. Part two of The XL Tour de France Preview will be online soon... INTRODUCING VAN RYSEL, OUR TOUR DE FRANCE SPONSORS We are very pleased to welcome Van Rysel as our sponsors for the first half of our Tour de France coverage. The Tour gets underway in Lille, the city where the company was founded and has its headquarters. The city is steeped in French cycling history and heritage, not least because the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix are on the doorstep. Van Rysel supplies bikes and kit for the Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale World Tour team, who feature Felix Gall, Bruno Armirail and Aurélien Paret-Peintre in their line-up for the Tour. If you are going to Lille for the opening weekend make sure to drop in at Van Rysel House, a pop-up venue and hub for cycling fans. It's located at Hein Estaminet in Place Saint-Hubert a short walk from the Euralille train station. It's a place to have a drink or something to eat and watch the race on TV and there'll be lots going on over the weekend with a quiz night to test your cycling knowledge each night at 8pm. There's also some group rides setting out from there. A chance to see the Van Reesel bikes and the innovation that goes into their design. Visit www.vanryselcycling.com to find out more. Have you found yourself yelling at your child, and being filled with regret?Do you tell yourself often, "I just need more patient." Friend... I'm here to share with you in this short episode, that there are 3 MUCH more powerful P-words that can get you into a calmer relationship with your child.  And these three steps are very simple and doable.  The truth is far more liberating – and easier than you can imagine. The root of our angry outbursts often isn't a patience deficit but what I call "time travel" – mentally jumping backward into regrets or forward into fears about our child's future. This emotional time travel amplifies our reactions, turning minor frustrations into major blowups. But there's a way out that doesn't require superhuman patience. The solution lies in mastering the three P's: Plan, Pause, and Practice. First, create clear agreements in advance for recurring challenges like bedtime or technology use. As one mom discovered, when she established consistent plans and followed through, battles decreased dramatically. Second, master the art of pausing with the "Whoa, Low, Slow" technique – interrupting your automatic reactions, speaking calmly, and creating space for thoughtful responses. Finally, give yourself permission to practice imperfectly, approaching each challenging interaction as a learning opportunity rather than a test of your parenting worth. These practical strategies have transformed countless family dynamics, including one where "knockdown, three-hour screaming fights" have become a thing of the past. The mother's own father noticed the change, commenting, "You've completely changed how you're parenting the kids." This isn't about becoming a different person – it's about equipping yourself with effective tools that work in real life.Ready to break free from the yelling cycle? Jesushas been praying with His disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane when Judasshows up with a “multitude” of the temple guards to arrest Jesus. To get thefull picture of this event, I highly recommend that you read all four Gospelaccounts. John tells us that Jesus “went forth” to meet Judas and those withhim and asked, “Whom are you seeking?” They answered, “Jesus of Nazareth” andJesus said, “I am He”. At those words, God released the radiance of His glory, and it literally knocked Judas and all the mob to the ground (John 18:1-12).  Matthewtells us that this is when Judas gets up and greets Jesus saying, “Hail Master”and then kisses Jesus. Jesus calls him “Friend” and the officers came and “laidhands on Jesus and took Him” (Matthew 26:47-56).Itwas then that the disciples remembered (and misunderstood) His words about thesword (Luke 22:35-38), so they asked Him if now was the time to make use oftheir two swords. Without waiting for the answer, Peter rushed ahead andattacked a man who turned out to be Malchus, a servant to the high priest (John18:10, 26-27). Whydid Peter do this? For one thing, he had to back up the boastful words he hadspoken in the Upper Room (Luke 22:33) and again on the way to the Garden (Matt.26:30-35). Someone rightly said, “Peter had been sleeping when he should havebeen praying, talking when he should have been listening, and boasting when heshould have been fearing. Now he was fighting when he should have beensurrendering!” Petermade a number of serious mistakes when he attacked Malchus with his sword. Tobegin with, Peter was fighting the wrong enemy with the wrong weapon. We mustalways remember that our enemies are not flesh and blood, and they cannot bedefeated with ordinary weapons (2 Cor. 10:3-6; Eph. 6:10-18). In His wildernesstemptations, Jesus defeated Satan with the Word of God (Matt. 4:1-11), and thatis the weapon we must use (Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12). Peteralso revealed the wrong attitude and trusted the wrong energy. While Jesus wassurrendering, Peter was busy declaring war! This reveals that he was dependingon "the arm of flesh." His whole approach to the situation was not atall Christlike (John 18:36) and stands as a good warning to us today. The lostworld may act this way, but it is not the way God's servants should act (Matthew12:19; 2 Timothy 2:24). Jesus had taught His disciples and us that: “love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you,and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may besons of your Father in heaven…” (Matthew 5:38-45). Itis just like Jesus to act in grace when others are acting in malice (Psalms103:10). He showed grace to Peter by rebuking his presumptuous sin andrepairing the damage he had done. He showed grace to Malchus, a lowly slave, byhealing his ear, and He showed grace to the whole world by willingly yieldingHimself to the mob and going to Calvary. He did not come to judge but to save(Luke 19:10).  John 3:16-17 reminds us: “For God did notsend His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world throughHim might be saved.” OurLord's last miracle before the cross was not a big flashy thing that attractedattention. It is likely that very few of the men who were there that night evenknew what Peter and Jesus had done. Jesus could have summoned twelve legions ofangels (Matthew 26:53), one legion (6,000 soldiers) for each of the elevendisciples and one for Himself, but He did not. Instead of performing somespectacular feat, He lovingly healed the ear of an obscure slave and thenpresented His hands to be bound. Eachof us must decide whether we will go through life pretending, like Judas; orfighting, like Peter; or yielding to God's perfect will, like Jesus. Today, willit be the kiss of betrayal, the sword of the flesh, or the cup of surrender tothe will of God?Godbless!

Day 2 at Wimbledon was hot, it was humid, and there was havoc as more seeds fell at the first hurdle. In Part 1 we discuss the shock exit of Coco Gauff at the hands of Dayana Yastremska and what it says about the difficulty of backing up a French Open win when Wimbledon is right around the corner. We also lost recent title winner Jessica Pegula and then Zheng Qinwen. Some big names did go through, most notably Iga Swiatek and defending champion Barbora Krejcikova. Finally, we cover Petra Kvitova's last match on the grass courts of SW19. In Part 2 (36m44s) we talk though the matches held over from last night, in which there were very different fates for a fang-tastic Fritz who fought back to beat Giovanni MPetshi Perricard, and a chastened Zverev who went down to Arthur Rinderknech. We discuss some difficult moments in his press conference and what he needs to change to find his form. There were emotional wins today for veterans Dan Evans and Gael Monfils, and whilst Musetti struggled with his post-injury form, big names Sinner, Draper and Djokovic all went through with relative ease. In Part 3 (72m08s) we look ahead to tomorrow's order of play and its tantalising line-up of second round matches, many of which are now not quite what we expected.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! It was a crazy first day at Wimbledon, but Catherine, David and Matt were live to help process it all. Part 1 - Carlos Alcaraz took a scenic route to eventually beat Fabio Fognini. We discuss the potential reasons why and what if anything it means for his 2025 Championships bid. The original Next Gen members Medvedev and Tsitsipas continue to struggle and continue to provide unconvincing responses in press, We will have to wait until tomorrow though to find out the fate of two other members of that group, as both Fritz and Zverev are suspended overnight. The new next generation on the block, however, as represented by Joao Fonseca, was looking good. Part 2 (42m08s) - We discuss Sonay Kartal's unexpected win over an out of sorts Jelena Ostapenko, solid performances for Katie Boulter and Emma Raducanu, and a reasonably comfortable victory for dormant-volcano-due-for-eruption Marketa Vondrousova. Sabalenka made short work of Branstine, but reigning Australian Open Champion Madison Keys had a tough time of it against Ruse. We are concerned about how Jasmine Paolini is looking despite having made it through to Round 2, and an incredible performance by Amanda Anisimova which thoroughly delighted Matt was overshadowed by security concerns around Putintseva and by Ons Jabeur retiring injured from her match. In Part 3 (66m18s), we finally name our strawberry mascot, and run through the order of play for Day 2, now supplemented with matches held over from today.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! They address the unbearable summer heat, the impact of losing a close friend and podcast partner, and the challenges of recording content during the noisy summer months. Focus shifts to the football club's difficulties this past year, particularly the struggles with transfers and the inevitable media frenzy. They evaluate the club's state-of-the-union, potential incoming and outgoing transfers, and the importance of patience for fans during the rebuild process. There is a strong emphasis on the need for a new goalkeeper, striker, and midfielder to enhance the team's spine. Hey Friend! This episode has been on my heart for a while—and it's finally time. I'm sharing something big today: a shift, a stretch, and a step into who I've become and who I believe you are becoming too. If you've ever outgrown a version of yourself or felt that quiet whisper that it's time for more... you're not alone. This rebrand isn't just about me—it's about the space we're creating together. Let's talk about what's changing, why it matters, and how you are invited into this next season with me.

Let's be honest—sometimes we have questions that feel too awkward or embarrassing to ask out loud. So, we hide behind the phrase, “just asking for a friend.” Most people know it's really our question, but saying it that way gives us a little cover in case it sounds silly or uncomfortable. The same thing often happens in church. We hesitate to ask tough questions about faith because we don't want to seem foolish or unspiritual. In this next series, we want to put an end to that, and for the next five weeks we are going to be in a series called Asking for a Friend.  We will be looking at some of the tough questions of the Christian faith and trying to answer them from Scripture. This week Pastor Jeff Moes leads the discussion from a question we've all had at one time: “Why would a loving God send people to Hell?”  We will dive into why God would create a place such as Hell and what the purpose behind it was.  Even more importantly, we'll talk about how you and I can have confidence that we'll never end up there.--WebsiteFacebookInstagramSunday SetlistConnect with us!

Catherine, David and Matt were back for their second live show with news from media day at the Championships. Part 1 – Men's Draw. We discuss what the top players said in press today, including Jannik Sinner's reluctance to state his reasons for changing his team right before a major tournament. There's further chat about the apparent “blind date” nature of the US Open doubles partnerships, and about a cheerful Carlos Alcaraz being beaten by Andy Murray – at golf. Novak Djokovic showed he's clearly still hungry for big titles, and we discuss whether a professional and mature Jack Draper is feeling the pressure to succeed on home turf. We've spoken as well to Matteo Berrettini, Alexander Bublik, and Alexander Zverev, and an emotional Dan Evans gave us a insight into the internal struggles that can loom over you at the end of your career. Part 2 – Women's Draw (36m28s). How long and dark a shadow has been cast by Aryna Sabalenka's post US Open press conference? We talk about how both Sabalenka and Coco Gauff feel about the situation now and their reactions at the time. There is concern about where Ons Jabeur is with her game these days, and fears about Emma Raducanu's fitness as well. But there was cheer from an unexpected encounter with Marketa Vondrousova. Part 3 – Results (56m49s). Jessica Pegula wrote herself into the narrative by winning Bad Homburg, beating Iga Swiatek. Is she now firmly in the mix for the Wimbledon crown? And there is huge news from the women's tournament in Eastbourne as Maya Joint defeated an emotional Alexandra Eala in a hard fought final, leading to a big Backhand List announcement.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop! In our first live show from Wimbledon in 2025, Catherine, David and Matt are here to dissect the men's and women's singles draws. Part one - Men's draw. We discuss Jack Draper's tough route which could involve facing Alexander Bublik in R3, Novak Djokovic landing in the top half along with Jannik Sinner, the news that Sinner has suddenly split with his fitness trainer and physio, the dream path facing Carlos Alcaraz in the bottom half, a potentially tricky two weeks for Alexander Zverev, and Taylor Fritz's grass court scheduling. Part two - Women's draw (33m03s). It looks like a tough road ahead for top seed Aryna Sabalenka. We cover the names which could stop her from going deep as well as Sabalenka's practice session with Coco Gauff and what that told us about their relationship after the Roland Garros final. There's also a bold Amanda Anisimova prediction, Iga Swiatek coming in under the radar for once, and lots of intriguing round one matches. Part three - Results round up (54m34s). We cover the intriguing Eastbourne final between Alexandra Eala and Maya Joint, discuss Swiatek's run in Bad Homburg in more detail, and look ahead to media day on Saturday.Become a Friend of The Tennis PodcastCheck out our new merch shop!
