The guys are back with episode #185 of our Underachievers Podcast series! We're without Brian, but the show goes on. Starting it off, the guys have a mini sports tangent on the Philadelphia Phillies and Nick Castellanos. Next, Jeff shares what he's been up to lately, including visiting the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. This gets Witmer to ask what their go-to thing is at Renaissance Fairs. Lastly, Witmer shares how his brother's recent wedding went. So, come along and hear how the guys are this week!

For the second year, the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair will take place at the Mount Hope Estate and Winery. Yuletide at the Pa Renaissance Fair opens on Black Friday, November 29 and runs Saturdays and Sundays through December 15, 11 AM-4:30 PM. Candance Smith, Director of Sales and Communications at the Mount Hope Estate says the venue is very excited about it. "It kind of grew out of something that we did for several years. It was just an open house where we would open the mansion and allow people to walk through the the ground floor and look at the decorations. And we would have special beverage sales and we'd have carolers and things like that. And it was a free event, but we wanted to make it kind of a continuation of the actual Renaissance Faire because the Renaissance Faire goes for 11 weekends and is so popular. People are really sad when that last weekend comes. So we thought, why can't we just kind of. Light it right into the holiday season and kind of bring the two together." This is a family friendly event, that offers a new theme each weekend. "For instance, okay, we have a fairy weekend, we have a wizarding weekend, we have a time traveler's weekend. And the the the patrons really do support those weekends with their costuming. And it's amazing what guests come up with as far as their costume. And a lot of Comic-Con type costumes come in. So it's really it's really neat. We also see the traditional renaissance period costuming and the Knights and the Pirates and that kind of thing. So I like to say it's just a big playground for everybody just to come and have a good time." Welcome to the York Story Slam podcast, where we feature select stories from our monthly open mic storytelling events in York, Pennsylvania. On November 19th, the ten winners from our monthly open mic story slams returned to compete for the title of Best Storyteller in York.  The theme for the evening was NO REGRETS. We heard stories of loved ones lost and found, and the fear and exhilaration of taking a step forward even in uncertainty. Mina Edmondson won with her story of mischief that she and her siblings got into as children.  Mina took home the trophy and bragging rights as the Best Storyteller in York. Next up we have a story from Matt McDunnell, who talked about making difficult decisions in the best interest of  loved ones. Our final story on this month’s podcast comes from Ash DeVoe.
