"Who would do this? Next to the dumpster was a statue of the Virgin Mary. She was broken in half, hands missing, laying on her back and covered by dirt and garbage. And I heard the voice of Jesus saying to me, 'Will you deny me? Will you deny my mother?'" ---------- Former Chicago radio legend Kevin Matthews discovered an old, broken statue of the Blessed Mother that most people would have thrown away. Instead, "Broken Mary" became a powerful reminder that God doesn't discard broken people--He transforms them. In this episode, Kevin shares how a damaged statue helped reshape his faith, while Trapper Jack reflects on a broken white cane during a Medjugorje pilgrimage, recent vandalism of sacred statues there, and the surprising ways grace flows through life's fractures. If you've ever felt damaged, wounded, or beyond repair, this story offers a beautiful reminder: in God's hands, brokenness often becomes the beginning of something holy. Kevin Matthews will be speaking at St. Colette Parish, Brunswick, OH Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 6:30 pm (Rosary at 6:15) ---------- Join Us October 2026 for a Pilgrimage to Medjugorje We invite you to embark with us this October 10th to 17th on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje--one of the most grace-filled and spiritually uplifting places we've ever encountered. Is your practice generating more revenue while leaving you with less money? Are the team members you hired to create freedom actually increasing overhead, creating bottlenecks, and draining your profit? Dr. Lauryn sits down with Dr. Mark Mouw to examine why growing a practice does not automatically mean building a profitable or sustainable business.Dr. Mark shares lessons from more than 24 years of hiring associates, replacing himself in patient care, expanding services, and developing a high-performing team. They discuss compensation models, meaningful KPIs, transitioning away from a personality-based practice, and using virtual chiropractic assistants for insurance verification, lead follow-up, scheduling, and administrative work. This conversation will help clinic owners reduce payroll bloat, protect their in-office teams from burnout, and build practices that provide greater financial and personal freedom.Key TakeawaysPractice growth must be measured by profitability, not revenue alone. Clinic owners need to understand their payroll, cost per visit, average collections, profit margins, and meaningful KPIs before adding more people or services. An associate doctor cannot succeed without the right positioning, systems, and compensation model. Patients should be introduced to another qualified doctor, not “the associate,” while the owner remains responsible for creating demand and transferring trust.Expanded services can improve both patient outcomes and practice profitability. Laser therapy, decompression, supplements, and other offerings must remain congruent with the clinic's philosophy while helping patients receive better results.Virtual chiropractic assistants can reduce payroll bloat and employee burnout. Insurance verification, lead follow-up, scheduling, administrative work, and other non-patient-facing responsibilities can be delegated so the in-office team can focus on relationships, leadership, and patient care.Guest BioDr. Mark Mouw is a chiropractor, practice owner, and business leader with more than 24 years of clinical and entrepreneurial experience. After building a successful patient-centered practice alongside his wife, Dr. Mark developed extensive experience hiring associate doctors, creating scalable systems, expanding services, and building teams that allow a clinic to grow beyond its owner. As a co-owner of Chiro Matchmakers, he helps chiropractic practices find the right associate doctors, chiropractic assistants, and virtual chiropractic assistants for their specific needs. His mission is to help chiropractors build winning teams, serve more patients, improve profitability, and create greater freedom within their practices.Real People, Real Affordable: Hire a High-Caliber Virtual CA from $9.87/hr. The gap that matters in video production right now isn't between owners who use AI and owners who don't. It's between people who read about it and people whose business runs on it.This episode is sixty days of receipts from inside a video production business coach's own company: the $16,000 website replaced by a $70 subscription, then replaced again by pages he owns outright. The subscriptions cancelled one by one (Otter, Grain, ElevenLabs, Calendly, Typeform) because an afternoon of building now does the job better. A registration page built and shipped in an evening, no page builder, no developer. What you'll learn:Why the boring back office (follow-up emails, lead lists, landing pages, reporting) is where a video production company leaks money, and why that's now buildableThe word-of-mouth ceiling: why referrals stall most video businesses between £80K and £150K, and why that's a systems problem, not a lead problemWhat eleven owners built in a room in London, including a prospecting engine that finds and scores fifty leads while you make coffeeThe tool circus warning: why subscribing to five AI tools this afternoon is the wrong moveAfter eight years coaching 178+ video production companies, this is the fastest shift Den has seen.Thursday 6 August, one hour, live, free, two sittings so nobody's up at 3am. Register here: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/nLks4k8gQWKQzTAn0CEsoAAshwin Shantha joins Steve for a discussion challenging Western narratives on China – particularly the all-too-common opinions that dismiss its socialist character. This episode makes the case that China is a genuine socialist project where the state disciplines capital rather than being governed by it.Ashwin illustrates how China's green industrial revolution—driven by rapid progress in electric vehicles and renewable energy—marks a qualitative break from capitalist development paths. Unlike the Global North's extractive model, China's centrally planned approach prioritizes use-value objectives (clean air, energy self-reliance, and technological independence) over exchange-value maximization. The state constructs markets strategically, using mechanisms like the dual-credit policy to force both domestic and foreign automakers toward sustainable production targets. While the episode isn't focused on MMT, it highlights how China's monetary sovereignty enables fiscal space for long-term industrial planning. The nation's ability to issue its own currency and direct credit toward clean development highlights a crucial distinction from Global South countries trapped in IMF-imposed structural adjustment programs. This self-determined policy space, which is denied to nations like India and much of Africa, allows Beijing to absorb neoliberal shocks while maintaining state control over the economy.China's sustainable growth model is anti-imperialist in two key ways. First, energy independence reduces reliance on imported fossil fuels that expose the country to geopolitical leverage through choke points like the Malacca Strait. Second, technological autonomy focuses on developing indigenous productive forces that break the Western monopoly over clean technology.By keeping private capital subordinate to state priorities, China shows that socialist modernization offers a workable alternative for the Global South, avoiding the de-development and resource plunder that characterizes Western industrialization.China's model may still have some contradictions, but it continues to show what is possible when state power is wielded in the interests of the working class.Ashwin Shantha (they/them) is a doctoral student whose research focuses broadly on the political economy of sovereign development in the global South, focusing specifically on China and South Asia. Some of their existing work has researched South-South development cooperation between China and Pakistan through the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as, more recently, China's state-led green industrial revolution in the electric vehicles and renewable energy sectors. Ashwin is also the host of the International Solidarity Podcast, which focuses on the politics of anti-imperialism and socialism in the global South.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@journalofintlsolidarityInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/journalofintlsolidaritySubstack: https://intlsolidarity.substack.com/

Mark your calendar for the 2026 Blacksburg Field Day on August 24 – 25, 2026 at Virginia Tech and the Turfgrass Research Center in Blacksburg. This year's event begins with an elevated kickoff at Blacksburg Country Club, where we are partnering to bring together the fun of Goatley Rules mixed with tradition golf fun for 9 holes of pure entertainment and camaraderie. The Monday program features a 3:00 PM shotgun start followed by a welcome happy hour and dinner at 6:00 PM. On Tuesday, attendees will gather at the Turfgrass Research Center for breakfast and registration at 7:30 AM, field day tours at 8:30 AM, and a networking lunch at 12:30 PM. This annual event offers a chance to learn, network, and support turfgrass research, education, and extension in Virginia — while enjoying one of the most memorable traditions in the turfgrass community. Your participation in Field Day helps the Virginia Turfgrass Foundation (VTF) continue supporting the Turfgrass Research Center (TRC) in meaningful ways. In 2025, that support helped fund a part-time TRC staff position, and in recent years VTF has also provided equipment matching funds for multiple pieces of critical equipment. As research needs continue to evolve, attendance at these events helps fuel the funding needed to keep the TRC moving forward and meeting those needs. The Blacksburg Field Day is more than a showcase of research — it is an opportunity to build relationships, strengthen the turfgrass community, and support continued investment in the Turfgrass Research Center. With Goatley Rules returning in a bigger way this year, it's also a chance to enjoy an unforgettable round of golf while celebrating Dr. Mike Goatley's lasting impact on the turfgrass profession. In this episode, we introduce Camden Bucey's new book, Defending Our Hope: An Introduction to Christian Apologetics, and trace its development from an adult Sunday school class at Hope Presbyterian Church to a twelve-lesson Reformed Academy course and now a beautiful hardcover volume. Camden and Ryan Noha explain why the book is intended as an accessible on-ramp to a distinctly Reformed approach—one grounded in the doctrines of God, revelation, and humanity rather than an imagined realm of neutral reasoning. The conversation returns again and again to the living hope of 1 Peter 1:3 and the call of 1 Peter 3:15. Christian apologetics is not chiefly about winning arguments or mastering a script; it is about bearing faithful witness to Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose for our salvation. Because the power belongs to God and works through his Word, ordinary believers can speak the truth in love with gentleness, respect, and genuine confidence.Chapters00:00 Introduction01:04 Introducing Defending Our Hope02:12 Upcoming Reformed Forum events04:03 The story behind the book04:28 The book and course as an accessible on-ramp07:58 Formed through the local church13:28 Apologetics in the community21:57 Friendship, community, and everyday witness24:31 Ordinary Christians and the hope within us27:09 The apologetic context of 1 Peter 3:1530:04 Always prepared—with gentleness and respect31:37 The living hope of resurrection33:39 Apologetics and evangelism34:39 Why doctrine determines apologetic method41:28 Scripture as the self-attesting Word of God50:09 Starting anywhere in God's world52:36 Faithful witnesses who tell the truth60:56 Using the book with the free Reformed Academy course62:30 Further study and ordering information65:42 Closing remarksResourcesEpisode resources and Defending Our HopeFree Reformed Academy course: Defending Our HopeReformed Forum bookstoreMentioned in this episode:Join Us In Person: Four Upcoming Reformed Forum EventsBefore today's episode, Camden Bucey shares four opportunities to gather with Reformed Forum in person over the coming months: Apologetics and Evangelism Seminar — August 4–5, 2026, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Taylors, SC. What AI Knows Before You Draw the First LineAI site feasibility analysis is changing how architects evaluate land before design begins. In this episode of the EntreArchitect Podcast, Mark R. LePage talks with Gayathri (G3) Venkataraman, Founder and CEO of GeoProspex.ai, about how artificial intelligence is helping architects and developers make better decisions before the first line is drawn. Drawing on decades of AI leadership at Microsoft and DocuSign, G3 explains how practical AI tools can reduce uncertainty early in the design process.G3 shares how GeoProspex.ai combines proprietary AI models with trusted data sources to speed up site feasibility while protecting privacy and improving accuracy. She explains why architects should think of AI as a decision support tool rather than a replacement for professional judgment. As a result, teams can identify opportunities and risks in minutes instead of days. The conversation explores what AI means for the future of architecture, real estate, and construction. G3 discusses how firms can begin using AI today without changing everything at once. Are investors overreacting to rising credit spreads among the largest AI hyperscalers? As companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and Oracle continue borrowing heavily to fund massive AI infrastructure, headlines are warning of "carnage" in hyperscaler credit markets. But does wider credit spread really signal financial trouble—or simply reflect unprecedented capital spending? Lance Roberts & Michael Lebowitz examine what credit default swaps (CDS), bond spreads, and AI capital expenditures are actually telling investors. We'll separate sensational headlines from market reality, and explore whether this is a genuine warning sign or another example of fear outrunning the fundamentals. 0:00 INTRO 1:01 - Markets Sell of as Margins Unwind 3:48 - What Happens When Moving Averages Are Broken 7:22 - Yields Respond to FOMC 9:42 - What Walsh Didn't Say... 14:01 - Four Things (he did say) 16:01 - No Support for Rate Hikes in Slowing Economy 21:26 - Momentum is the Market Driver (and it's unwinding) 23:24 - Why the 2% Inflation Target? 27:09 - Google vs Microsoft Earnings & Market Responses 30:25 - Hyperscalers & Credit Spreads 36:34 - Oracle is the Problem Child 37:42 - Market Price Narratives are not Realistic 39:42 - The Importance of Risk Management Hosted by RIA Advisors Chief Investment Strategist, Lance Roberts, CIO, w Portfolio Manager, Michael Lebowitz, CFA Produced by Brent Clanton, Executive Producer ------- Do you enjoy our content? Welcome to another episode of the Cookbook Love Podcast. Today, I'm joined by Dora Ramirez. Dora Ramirez didn't set out to reinvent Mexican cuisine. She wanted to uncover the stories, ingredients, and traditions that were already there. Before we get started: If you're a dietitian, chef, or culinary professional who wants to publish a cookbook with a traditional publishing house, I invite you to join my upcoming Grow Your Audience masterclass. You'll learn how to build an audience publishers value — without relying on social media algorithms — by creating a community, sharing your message, and testing cookbook ideas with the people who will eventually become your readers. Register for upcoming Grow Your Cookbook Audience class In today's episode, I talk with Dora about the journey behind Comida Casera: More Than 100 Vegan Recipes from Traditional to Modern Mexican Dishes, her James Beard Award-winning cookbook celebrating the indigenous roots and plant-based traditions of Mexican cuisine. Born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, Dora came to the United States to attend the Culinary Institute of America before building a career as a chef, recipe developer, food photographer, and content creator. Her cookbook grew from a desire to share a deeper story about Mexican food — one centered on history, culture, and the ingredients that have shaped the cuisine for generations. In this episode, we discuss: How Dora transformed her personal experience and culinary background into a unique cookbook concept Why Comida Casera focuses on uncovering indigenous Mexican plant-based foundations rather than simply adapting recipes How she documented recipes and stories from indigenous cooks across Mexico The thought process behind organizing a cookbook as a journey through Mexican culinary traditions What it was like to see her nearly three-year cookbook project recognized with a James Beard Award Dora also shares her new online cookbook club, where she explores historical Mexican cookbooks and brings their recipes and stories to a new audience. Dora's story is also a reminder that a cookbook begins long before the manuscript is written. It starts with understanding your unique perspective, knowing the story you want to share, and building a community of readers who care about your work. If you're a dietitian, chef, or culinary professional who wants to publish a cookbook with a traditional publishing house, I invite you to join my upcoming Grow Your Audience masterclass. What happens after spending a lifetime exploring the supernatural? Paranormal investigator, author, and television personality Amy Bruni joins A Psychic's Story for a conversation that goes beyond haunted places to explore curiosity, history, and what decades of investigating the supernatural have taught her about living with mystery. Amy reflects on the childhood experiences that sparked her fascination with the paranormal, why history is at the heart of every investigation, and how she's become more comfortable with questions than absolute answers. Together, Nichole and Amy discuss skepticism, the importance of honoring the human stories behind every haunting, and what it means to embrace the unknown after a lifetime spent searching for answers. Nichole and Amy also discuss the evolution of paranormal investigation, the importance of balancing skepticism with open-mindedness, and Amy's newest book, Cuisine to Kill For, which combines haunted history, true crime, and recipes inspired by legendary locations around the world. In this episode, you'll hear: How growing up in a haunted house sparked Amy's lifelong fascination with the paranormal. Why more than 20 years of investigating the supernatural have left Amy with more questions than answers. How healthy skepticism and open-mindedness work together in paranormal investigation. Why the history and human stories behind a haunting matter as much as the paranormal evidence. Why living with mystery can be more meaningful than having all the answers.

As public understanding of neurodiversity continues to grow, evaluators face a shifting landscape when assessing clients whose traits don't match traditional, less nuanced pictures of autism. Many individuals—especially women and girls—learn to navigate daily social interactions through pattern recognition and learned strategies rather than intuitive processing, masking their traits enough to miss early identification. Dr. Jeremy Sharp, a licensed psychologist, founder of the Colorado Center for Assessment, and host of the Testing Psychologist Podcast, joins Emily to unpack the realities of camouflaging and what it takes to catch these less obvious presentations during a diagnostic evaluation. TAKEAWAYS The increasing prevalence of self-identification and online research requires evaluators to look beyond traditional, high-support presentation models when assessing for autism. Camouflaging and masking rely on active cognitive problem-solving and pattern recognition rather than intuitive social processing, creating high internal fatigue that standard testing environments can miss. Structured, one-on-one assessment settings can artificially boost a person's immediate social performance, making ambiguous or unstructured interactions essential during clinical observations. Traditional assessment tools like the ADOS can be less sensitive when evaluating females, who often demonstrate higher surface social fluency and culturally common special interests. Arriving at an accurate diagnostic picture requires gathering broad collateral information from parents, partners, and teachers rather than relying on a single test score. You can register now for our upcoming continuing education course for mental health professionals, Clinical Implications of Late-Identified Neurodivergence: Strategies for Identity Integration and Therapeutic Support. The course will be presented by Dr. Amy Marschall, author of the book Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy, and will be available both as a live event on Friday, August 7 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM Eastern, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Pacific, and afterwards in video form. Both versions are worth 1.5 hours of APA and NBCC-approved CE credits. Register here. Dr. Jeremy Sharp is a licensed psychologist and Director at the Colorado Center for Assessment, a multimillion-dollar private practice that he founded in 2009. He specializes in psychological and neuropsychological evaluation with kids and adolescents. As the host of the Testing Psychologist Podcast and consultant for clinicians, Dr. Sharp provides private practice coaching for psychologists and other mental health professionals who want to start or grow assessment services in their practices. In 2020, Dr. Sharp partnered with a seasoned software developer to co-found Reverb, the premier AI report-writing platform for testing psychologists that helps clinicians write faster, better reports and get their time back for what matters most. Dr. Sharp earned his undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina before getting a Master's and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University. I was working with a beloved client recently, a powerhouse entrepreneur and mama of three. She's already built a successful career as a PR strategist for authors, and now she's feeling the pull to bring that same gift to more heart-led non-profits. At the end of our session, I pulled a card like I often do. A woman on her hands and knees, birds circling around her. Faith in the Process, from Alana Fairchild's Sacred Rebels Oracle deck. That night, I shuffled again, just to check. Same card. The next morning, before we recorded this episode, I shuffled a third time. I pulled two cards, just in case, because apparently I still don't fully trust my own inner knowing (working on it).

Title: This Scheduling Secret Changed Michael's Life Host: Michael J. Maher Guest: Solo Episode Description: After an unexpected emergency appendectomy, Michael J. Maher was reminded just how important relationships truly are. In this solo episode, Michael shares how ChatGPT helped him recognize that he may need emergency care, while also explaining why artificial intelligence can never replace genuine human connection. Michael addresses three major concerns affecting professionals today: the decline in meaningful relationships since 2020, the tendency to confuse learning with productivity, and the habit of scheduling tasks instead of people. He reveals the scheduling secret that changed his life: put people on your calendar first. By intentionally scheduling conversations, events, appointments, and relationship-building activities, professionals can strengthen their businesses, deepen their connections, and make better use of their time. Michael also explains how Time Mastery helps people begin with the schedule they have today and gradually create a more intentional life centered around the people and priorities that matter most. Everyone says they're comfortable with investment risk—until markets actually decline. Lance Roberts & Jon Penn discuss why true risk tolerance isn't measured during bull markets but during periods of fear and uncertainty. We explain the difference between financial capacity and emotional tolerance, why investors often overestimate the amount of volatility they can handle, and how emotional decisions can permanently damage long-term returns. 0:00 INTRO 0:53 - Markets Building Downward Pressure 4:00 - Semi's in Momentum Trade 8:39 - Investor, Know Thyself 11:00 - Investing is Supposed to be Boring 14:02 - Waiting Until the Market is "Safe" 15:47 - Risk Knows No Age 21:06 - TOD vs POD - What's the Difference? 23:55 - What is Per Stirpes? 27:34 - Lance's Treasure Hunt 28:03 - Diversity of Accounts Is Not a Good Thing 28:03 - Diversity of Accounts Is Not a Good Thing 34:58 - The Value in Consolidation of Accounts 36:42 - SIPC Insurance and Bankruptcy 45:04 - At What Age...? Walking with a teenager through body image struggles is a powerful discipleship opportunity, but oftentimes, it is hard to know how to connect it to God's Word. How do we offer hope and comfort when we hear teenagers‘ cries of despair, anger, anxiety, or self-hatred about their bodies? This workshop will explore how the Bible's storyline of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration speaks to body image concerns. Using this framework, we will connect teenagers to why God made them, what happened to our relationship with our bodies in the Fall, how Christ redeems our thoughts about our bodies, and what restoration looks like. Together, we will see how the weightiness of body image struggles provides an opportunity to display the power of God's Word and the beauty of the gospel. Last week I told you the story of everything that led up to launching ClickFunnels — my original “One Funnel Away.” I ended it like the hero coming home victorious with the elixir. But here's the thing about a hero's journey: it always has a sequel. And the sequel is where it gets real. This is the final episode of The Russell Brunson Show — I'm winding it down and relaunching as a new podcast called Bootstrap Secrets. So to close it out, I'm giving you part two: “One Funnel Away: Evolution,” the presentation from the last Funnel Hacking Live about how we scaled ClickFunnels past a billion dollars in sales. Not the highlight reel — the real version, with all the ups, the downs, and the moments it nearly fell apart. Key Highlights: ◼️The launch that almost killed the company — two years and every dollar of savings gone, a “reverse launch” that stalled out, and the five failed attempts before one event with Mike Filsaime finally cracked it ◼️The “booth babes” funnel — told I could speak at Traffic & Conversion but couldn't sell, how Dave Woodward funneled a hallway of people into the most talked-about room at the event (and how Dave hired himself on the spot) ◼️Why DotCom Secrets became “the doctrine of the movement” — the book that finally made people get ClickFunnels, and the explosion from a few hundred members to twelve thousand ◼️The London meltdown — landing overseas to thousands of messages (some of them literal death threats) with ClickFunnels down for hours, and the one thing I did instead of hiding that flipped the whole community from rage to support ◼️Why I turned down $110 million — the private conversation with Moz's Rand Fishkin about VC money, depression, and control that made me walk away from the check Looking back, none of it was sunshine and roses — and that's exactly the point. Every high came wrapped in a low I didn't see coming, and the business only survived because I had a team and a community carrying it with me. Like Gary Halbert said, one idea, properly exploited, is worth more than ten lifetimes of hard work — and I've watched that one idea change more lives than I ever thought possible. So as I close out this chapter and step into the next one, here's what I'll leave you with: what's the one calling you've been carrying that's worth getting punched in the face for… and who's in your corner for when it happens? ◼️FUNNEL HACKING LIVE AI: The last Funnel Hacking Live ever is this September in Las Vegas — a smaller, one-time, AI-everything encore, and the room where this whole community comes together one final time. How can we overcome what holds us back from making the right big moves? Well I am pleased to welcome back to the show someone who has lived out and navigated this problem. My friend and world renowned expert in communication and negotiation, Kwame Christian! Kwame Christian, Director of the American Negotiation Institute.
