"M. Byrd found himself in a wholly foreign place upon becoming a father for the first time. Enveloped by the moment, the German singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer transfers this energy onto his 2025 full-length offering, A Better Place [Nettwerk].""He took the first step on this perpetual journey as a kid obsessed with music back in Germany. During 2020, he introduced his sound with the single “Mountain,” eclipsing 10.9 million Spotify streams and paving the way for the Orion EP. The latter boasted another fan favorite “Morning Sun,” which gathered 6.2 million Spotify streams. 2023 saw him serve up his first full-length LP, The Seed. Along the way, he incited tastemaker applause from EUPHORIA., 1883 Magazine, OnesToWatch, and more.""Around the same time, the onset of fatherhood turned his world upside down in the best way. It effectively divided the writing process of A Better Place into two halves—physically represented by his young family's move from Hamburg to Denmark."“There are all of these songs before the birth and all of these songs after the birth,” he affirms. “I was able to reflect on myself and what was happening. I said, ‘Goodbye', to a lot of friends in Hamburg and started a new life in Denmark. All of these changes happened, and I was really trying to put them into songs, so I would have them with me forever.”"Ultimately, M. Byrd soundtracks the most universal experience of all: change."

Seed corn package diversity is more than relative maturity. Hybrids build yield in a variety a ways - ear length, ear girth, kernel weight. It's important to know how each product gets to the finish line and what package can work best on your acres. On today's podcast, the Wyffels agronomy managers discuss our yield component trials. Wyffels has conducted research to better understand how individual hybrids express their yield components. Hybrids are planted at low and high populations to determine how hybrid yield components change, or "flex", in response to stress. Ears are collected to determine how the girth, length, and kernel weight are affected by stress. Differences are converted to a percentage to show how each yield component influences total ear flex by product. You can fine-tune management to protect genetic yield potential by knowing how hybrids respond to stress.Links discussed in this episode:Our Corn Products - Wyffels HybridsRequest our Product Guide with Yield Component Information.Between the Rows® - Fungicide Use on Wyffels HybridsWyffels Hybrids Trial ResultsWe want to hear from you. On this episode of The Dr. Hyman Show, I sit down with Dr. Robert Hedaya, a psychiatrist who has spent decades working at the intersection of biology, brain function, and mental health. His approach starts with a different question than most psychiatry asks: what's interfering with the brain's ability to regulate, adapt, and repair itself? We talk about why many mental health diagnoses describe symptoms without explaining causes—and how measuring brain function, energy, and network activity is opening the door to more precise, individualized care. Watch the full conversation on YouTube or listen wherever you get your podcasts. [YOUTUBE THUMBNAIL] We discuss: • How biological imbalances can drive anxiety, depression, and cognitive symptoms • Why many “treatment-resistant” mental health issues have overlooked root causes • How brain energy and mitochondrial function influence mood and cognition • What advanced brain mapping reveals about how your brain is actually working For far too long, mental health care has focused on managing symptoms in isolation. This discussion looks at what becomes possible when we treat the brain as part of the whole system and support its ability to heal. In this episode of The Child Psych Podcast, we're joined by Alyssa Blask Campbell—educator, emotional-development expert, and author of the bestselling book Tiny Humans, Big Emotions. Alyssa invites us into the heart of her groundbreaking framework, the Collaborative Emotion Processing (CEP) method—a research-based approach designed to help parents and educators respond to children's emotions with intention rather than reactivity.Through this rich conversation, Alyssa explains what it truly means to process emotions collaboratively, starting with the adult's ability to regulate their own nervous system. She shares how the CEP method reframes emotional moments not as crises to fix, but as opportunities for connection and co-regulation. Together, we explore how this framework helps both parents and teachers move beyond behaviour management and into deeper relational understanding—where curiosity, empathy, and attunement replace power struggles and frustration.Alyssa's insights offer a refreshing reminder that emotional intelligence begins with us. When adults pause, breathe, and reflect before reacting, they model the very skills children need to thrive. Her work bridges cutting-edge neuroscience with compassionate, practical tools that fit into everyday life—whether you're navigating a toddler tantrum, a classroom meltdown, or the quiet undercurrent of stress in your own body.Tune in for an inspiring and empowering conversation about what it means to raise and teach with emotional awareness, and how cultivating calm within ourselves is the most powerful gift we can give the children in our care.Alyssa Blask Campbell, M.Ed., is an emotional development expert, teacher, parent, and the founder and CEO of Seed & Sew—a global platform dedicated to raising emotionally intelligent humans by supporting the adults who care for them. She holds a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and is the creator of the Collaborative Emotion Processing (CEP) method, a research-based framework that helps parents and educators respond to children's emotions with intention rather than reactivity.Alyssa is also the host of the popular Voices of Your Village podcast and author of Tiny Humans, Big Emotions (HarperCollins), where she translates the science of emotional intelligence into practical, compassionate tools for everyday life. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post and other major outlets, and she has trained educators and families across the globe on how to build connection through co-regulation and nervous system awareness.LInk to Alyssa's books: Tiny Humans, Big Emotions , and Big Kids, Bigger Feelings Sensory Quiz: https://www.seedandsew.org/linksThe Parent Coach:We're launching The Parent Coach—your new go-to place for instant parenting support. If you've been trying to eat well but feel stuck sorting through conflicting nutrition advice, this episode is for you.  In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Cate Shanahan for a practical conversation about why modern nutrition feels so confusing and how traditional diets offer a simpler framework for long-term health.  We talk through how seed oils quietly replaced more nourishing fats in the modern food supply, why they play such a big role in how processed foods impact our health, and how simple fat swaps can make a real difference without changing everything you eat.  If you're looking for clarity, common sense, and realistic steps you can apply in your everyday life, I think you'll really enjoy this conversation! In this episode, we cover: - Why so many people feel overwhelmed and confused by modern nutrition advice and how looking to traditional diets helps cut through the noise - Dr. Cate's background in genetics and family medicine and how one generation's food choices can shape the next - The four pillars found across traditional cultures that support long-term health (fresh foods, ferments and sprouting, bone broth, and organ meats) - How modern convenience foods quietly replaced nutrient-dense fats with industrial seed oils - Why seed oils are the true driver behind why junk food makes people feel and look unwell - A breakdown of the “Hateful Eight” seed oils to watch for when reading ingredient labels - The difference between toxic seed oils and neutral refined oils and why not all refined fats are equal - How to identify truly healthy fats by taste, labeling, and how they're processed - Why simply swapping fats (without changing the rest of the meal) can have a major impact on health - The hidden places seed oils show up (even in organic and “healthy” grocery items) - A realistic, low-stress approach to reducing seed oils without trying to overhaul everything overnight - Why consumer demand is finally shifting the food industry toward better fat choices and what that means for home cooks View full show notes on the blog + watch this episode on YouTube. Seed oils are widely promoted as “heart-healthy” and appear in most modern nutrition guidelines — yet many women continue to struggle with inflammation, fatigue, hormone imbalance, and weight loss resistance while following this advice. In this episode, we explore how seed oils interact with the female body, why highly processed industrial fats affect inflammation, metabolism, hormone signaling, and nervous system regulation, and what nutrition guidelines often fail to explain about fat quality, oxidation, and real-world metabolic health. This conversation covers: What seed oils are and how they are made Why polyunsaturated industrial fats are biologically unstable How seed oils can contribute to chronic inflammation and metabolic stress The connection between fat quality, hormone signaling, and insulin resistance Why women are especially vulnerable to the effects of modern fats Healthier fat choices that better support metabolism and hormonal balance This episode is not about fear, food rules, or perfection. It's about understanding how modern nutrition guidelines can overlook female physiology — and how to make informed, nourishing choices that support long-term health. If you've ever wondered why eating “healthy” still leaves you feeling unwell, this episode offers clarity and context you won't find on a food label. https://www.heart.org/en/news/2024/08/20/theres-no-reason-to-avoid-seed-oils-and-plenty-of-reasons-to-eat-them     This is the newly rebranded podcast, formerly known as "Your Birth, God's Way". After the death of Abel and the departure of Cain, Moses records the genealogy of Adam through Seth. Banned from Eden, the sons of Adam inherit his sinful image and likeness. The first generations lived for incredibly long periods of time, seeing far more generations after them than we do now. This faithful line that goes through Seth believes and passes down the promises of God throughout their lifetimes. Nonetheless, sin means that each one in turn dies. This genealogy ends with Noah and his three sons. The prophecy that Lamech speaks about his son Noah sets the stage for the rest that God will bring, all the while pointing forward to the Son who comes many years later in this genealogy. He will provide the fullness of rest: Jesus.  Rev. Kale Hanson, pastor at Zion Lutheran Church and School in Bethalto, IL, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Genesis 5:1-32.  To learn more about Zion Lutheran, visit zionbethalto.org. “In the Beginning” is a series on Sharper Iron that studies Genesis. The first book of Moses sets the stage for God's entire story of salvation. As we learn the beginning of the story, God prepares us to receive the fulfillment of the story: Jesus Christ, the Offspring of the woman who has crushed our enemy's head.  Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to: listener@kfuo.org

BLAST FROM THE PAST: FIRST AIRED NOVEMBER 14, 2023 In this episode, Tara welcomes Alyssa Blask Campbell, CEO of Sew and Seed. Alyssa is a trusted expert in emotional development and the host of the popular podcast "Voices of Your Village." The conversation centers around Alyssa's new book, "Tiny Humans, Big Emotions: How to Navigate Tantrums, Meltdowns, and Defiance to Raise Emotionally Intelligent Children." Alyssa shares that the book is based on Collaborative Emotion Processing (CEP), a method for being with and moving through hard things. She and her colleague, Lauren Stauble developed this method after realizing that traditional behavior-focused approaches were not effective in real-life parenting situations. They wanted to create a comprehensive approach that focuses on the adult's self-awareness and self-care, as well as the interaction between adults and children. Tara and Alyssa discuss the importance of emotional intelligence and its impact on daily life. Alyssa shares how her perspective on emotional intelligence shifted when she started envisioning a world where these tools were accessible to everyone, including her own child and future generations. She emphasizes the need for emotional intelligence in adults, especially those in positions of power, so they can support others and model healthy ways of navigating difficult situations. Alyssa explains that emotional intelligence consists of five components: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social skills, and motivation. She highlights the significance of self-awareness, as it is the foundation for regulating emotions and accessing the other components. Alyssa uses personal examples, such as a social media backlash, to illustrate the importance of recognizing dysregulation cues and taking a step back before responding. They also touch on empathy and how it is best taught through modeling. Instead of claiming to understand exactly how someone feels in a given situation, she suggests connecting with the emotions someone is experiencing, rather than focusing on why they are feeling that way. If you're interested in teaching your children empathy, you should listen to this episode! Jesus shows how the same Word can produce different results, not because the seed is flawed, but because the condition of the heart matters. We walk through the four types of soil, unpacking why spiritual growth takes time, how emotion differs from depth, and how distractions can quietly choke faith. The good news? Your soil isn't permanent. God desires to cultivate your heart so His Word can take root and bear lasting fruit.

In this episode, Layne presents the evidence-based case that seed oils are not uniquely harmful under isocaloric conditions, while Peter steelmans the strongest versions of the opposing argument that seed oils are inherently harmful. They examine how scientific bias and evidence are evaluated, revisit the historical randomized controlled trials that shaped the seed oil controversy, and explore the mechanistic biology underlying LDL oxidation and atherosclerosis. Along the way, Layne unpacks the chemistry and processing of modern seed oils, assesses evolutionary and ancestral nutrition arguments, clarifies the relationship between seed oils, ultra-processed foods, and contemporary dietary patterns, and situates these questions within the larger context of lifestyle factors that drive cardiometabolic health. Layne concludes by offering practical considerations around dietary fats, cooking oils, and real-world food choices. We discuss: The idea behind this episode, biases, and evidence-based thinking [5:15]; The four core arguments behind claims that seed oils are harmful [12:30]; The Minnesota Coronary Experiment (MCE) [14:30]; The differences among saturated, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and trans fats, and why those differences matter for cardiovascular disease [18:30]; Missing trans fat data as a confounder in the Minnesota Coronary Experiment, other limitations of that study, and the challenge detecting meaningful differences in hard outcomes through nutrition research [24:00]; The Sydney Diet Heart Study (SDHS): an attempt to address the "duration problem" by enrolling a much higher-risk population [28:30]; Debating whether evidence from randomized trials supports the idea that seed oils are uniquely harmful once major confounders are removed [34:00]; The Rose Corn Oil trial: an often-cited study used to argue against polyunsaturated fats [36:30]; Three studies where replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated fat produced different results than earlier trials [41:30]; Layne's explanation for why the evidence is pointing towards cardiovascular risk reduction when substituting polyunsaturated fat for saturated fat [47:30]; What Mendelian randomization says about the causal role of LDL cholesterol in ASCVD [56:45]; The compounding effects of life-long exposure to high LDL cholesterol [1:06:45]; Does the linoleic acid (omega-6) content of seed oils cause inflammation? [1:13:45]; Does the linoleic acid (omega-6) content of seed oils increase oxidized LDL? [1:19:30]; Layne's analogy to explain why lower LDL particle number outweighs higher per-particle oxidation risk when comparing polyunsaturated fats to saturated fats [1:26:15]; The role of oxidized LDL in CVD: exploring differences in a diet high in polyunsaturated fat (seed oils) versus high in saturated fat [1:28:00]; Examining whether industrial processing and solvent extraction of seed oils—especially residual hexane—could plausibly cause long-term harm [1:34:00]; The evolutionary and "ancestral diet" argument against seed oils [1:40:45]; Weighing concerns about industrial processing of seed oils against the totality of metabolic and cardiovascular evidence [1:47:30]; Practical considerations around dietary fats, cooking oils, and real-world food choices [1:50:00]; Comparing the health impact of seed oils with that of caloric intake and activity levels, and how to prioritize interventions [2:00:15]; More. In this episode, we sit down with Steven Rofrano, founder of MASA Chips and Vandy Chips, to unpack why seed oils are so controversial and how “science” is often used as marketing. We explore the differences between seed oils and vegetable oils, the ways oils are extracted from nature, and how saturated versus unsaturated fats affect metabolism, mitochondria, and oxidative stress. Steven explains the role of linoleic acid, body temperature, calorie burning, and why eating in alignment with your climate may matter more than we've been taught. We also discuss whether seed oils need to be avoided entirely, their long half-life in the body, and practical strategies for reducing exposure in everyday life. The conversation wraps with a reimagined food pyramid, cooking methods that impact health, and how MASA and Vandy Chips are setting a new standard for cleaner, more satiating snack foods.Steven Rofrano grew up in New Jersey in an Italian-American family that instilled a deep respect for food quality and old-world traditions. Steven struggled with chronic health issues growing up, until he discovered that eliminating seed oils and processed foods made him feel truly healthy for the first time.Fueled by years of obsessive research, Steven became convinced that classic American foods can be both healthy and delicious—if made without toxic ingredients. Determined to prove this, he quit his big tech software job in 2022 to launch Ancient Crunch, starting with MASA Chips, the first nixtamalized tortilla chips cooked in grass-fed beef tallow. Next came Vandy Crisps, tallow-cooked potato chips that restore the 'Great American Snack' to its original seed oil-free glory.Today, Steven remains on a mission to rebuild America's pantry with real, nourishing ingredients—and, of course, to spread a little anti-seed oil “propaganda” along the way.SHOW NOTES:0:40 Welcome to the show!2:53 About Steven Rofrano3:59 Welcome him to the podcast!5:04 Why are seed oils so polarizing?8:47 Is “science” just marketing?11:35 Seed oils vs Vegetable oils13:35 3 ways to get oil from nature17:04 Unsaturated vs saturated fats in the body20:11 Eating per your climate22:25 Linoleic acid, oxidative stress and your mitochondria28:22 How we burn calories & energy33:46 *ELLIE MD*35:36 Lower body temperatures37:04 Do we need to avoid seed oils 100%?40:17 Advice on avoiding seed oils44:07 Half-life of seed oils in the body47:39 Cleaner potato & tortilla chips49:57 Satiation factor of saturated fats51:38 Frying vs baking vs sauteeing55:29 The new Food Pyramid57:09 Where to find MASA & Vandy Chips58:02 His final piece of advice58:40 Thanks for tuning in!ELLIE MD PeptidesRESOURCES:IG: reallytanmanX: reallytanmanMasa Chips - code: BIOHACKERBABES for 20% offIG: masa_chipsX: Masa_ChipsVandy Crisps: IG: https://www.instagram.com/vandy_crispsX: https://x.com/Vandy_CrispsSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/biohacker-babes-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands

Not medical advice.TOPICS DISCUSSED:Soy's rise in farming: Originating from paint uses and wartime chemicals, soy became dominant due to subsidies and large-scale farming practices, but introduces high PUFAs, phytoestrogens, and pesticides into animal feeds.Feed's impact on eggs: Chicken feeds high in soy and corn raise linoleic acid levels in eggs compared to low-soy alternatives; low-PUFA eggs improve digestibility for many.PUFAs & health effects: Feeding PUFAs fattens animals faster and disrupts human gut lining and metabolism; body fat composition changes take time, linking to chronic issues like low energy.Phytoestrogens in soy: These compounds pass into animal products, affecting estrogen signaling and gut health; mainstream nutrition often overlooks their risks despite historical low exposure.Dairy variations: Raw milk retains lactoferrin for iron regulation and gut support, plus enzymes and probiotics destroyed in pasteurization; it may resolve dairy intolerances for some.Regenerative farming model: Armstrong's cooperative emphasizes traditional feeds to “resaturate” foods, reducing PUFAs; supports small farms amid declining farm numbers.Ancestral diets insight: Traditional diets vary but share low PUFA levels, avoiding modern chronic illnesses tied to industrial fats.ABOUT THE GUEST: Ashley Armstrong, PhD co-founded Angel Acres Farm in Michigan and now runs Nourish Food Club, a cooperative of small farms producing low-PUFA, soy-free animal foods.RELATED EPISODE:M&M 273: Nutrition Content of Animal & Plant Foods: Beef, Plant-Based Meat, Raw vs. Processed MilkSupport the showHealth Products by M&M Partners: SporesMD: Premium mushrooms products (gourmet mushrooms, nootropics, research). If you will remember… last week…we began talking about the parable of the seed sower. And in that parable …we said that the seed sower was who? The seed sower was Jesus Christ right? And the seed was the Word of God. And the emphasis last week was on the fact that… when Jesus was sowing seeds…He sowed them with a generous hand! He just scattered them everywhere! He wasn't attempting to be a soil tester...He was simply sowing seed…and that's what we're supposed to do. But this morning… we're gonna discuss the main emphasis in this parable. And the main emphasis of this parable… is the soil! Now there are four different kinds of soil in this parable. And the soil represents the hearts of men and women. It represents the hearts of those who hear the word!
