This episode of the podcast you can learn some basic Japanese vocabulary through children's books. In the early days of learning, listening to a native Japanese speaker go through really simple material is perfect for beginners.
Another episode with Hamano Sensei. I believe in this one we read some children books. I find children books great for new vocabulary as well as getting a sense of the grammar without having to understand it 100%.
