TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of rape and victim blaming. Welcome to the first episode of Eye House! Today we will be starting off with a bang and delving into a controversial poem by yours truly. Read to you by Cate, Mother Sun tells the story of the narrator who was raped by a family member on Christmas Eve and yet never got justice for this heinous crime. This poem is based on modern rape culture and the rise of the bs hashtag ‘#NotAllMen’. I hope through this form of prose some people with an opposite mentality can learn to understand that trauma and rape convictions are not black and white issues and push for changes that will brings these heinous criminals to justice through this poem rather than pass it off by saying ‘not all men’. Thank you for listening and enjoy Mother Sun written and read by Cate.
