Pretext | A deeper look into the behind-the-scenes process of creating the Carousel series, specifically the story’s characterisation, the plotting, story mapping and the world-building. The talk (and ramble) about this story might be able to show the process that I have gone through in creating this story. A lot more spoilers are involved as I dissect further into the plot, characters, and the storytelling for this series.

An insight into how Carousel had come into fruition. In this podcast, as this would only be the first session of many, I talked about how the story had started in the first place, the inspiration behind the entire series, and how I took the leap of faith into starting the story. Carousel has been a significant part of my writing journey, the beginning of everything and what had formed me into the writer that I am today. Carousel has since been re-edited and re-written after its initial publishing, and had also been published on ao3, Inkitt, and wattpad. An insight into another one of my old favourites, Undo. On this fic talk, I read a few of my favourite parts from the story and talked about the whole process of making it happen, while I also answered a few frequently asked questions from a few readers. This fic was emotionally challenging and it was one of the focal points where I was finding my writing style and it’s always a pleasure of mine to talk about this one in particular. An insight of how one of my oldest work, Over Again, had come to be. I talked about a few of my favourite parts from the story, how I got the idea and the inspiration behind the story, and the whole process of making it happen. To talk about this series is always such a pleasure for me. This was a favourite work of mine which I wrote based on a specific scene I imagined as I listened to the song which inspired me, but I had also put some of my own personal emotions on some parts of the story which made the whole writing experience became such an emotional process to me. One of the things that helped me describe how both characters progressed as they went through their journey in finding themselves and experiencing changes in their lives was solely because I was experiencing the same thing at the same time. I was starting my new life at a new state just like how the OC did, and I was in the process of moving on from a certain part of my past just like how Jimin did. I had always talked about how Over Again had been such a ride to write, and it’ll always be the one that is most precious to me personally. Questions I was answering:
