Underneath the behavior of teenagers are thoughts and emotions that have long been there. There are two primal emotions which are unconscious: love and fear. All of our behavior stems from whether we approach conversations, confrontations or other communication with a preset switch to either love or fear. When parenting we need to know if we are approaching our kids out of love or fear and equally be aware of they are approaching us out of love or fear. This ultimately effects all behavior, especially for the teenager.
