A history podcast about as much as I can share.
I ramble on about Dorian and Ionian Greeks for some reason. So that’s cool.
We (kinda) finish talking about atonement and why it’s impossible to complete.
Mornathel’s historical podcast episode 1. We talk about what I like to call ‘atonement’. What atonement means is when we rename days and tear down statues and other such acts of blatant historical destruction in order to appease and atone for what we did to other people. We can’t go back in time and stop our ancestors from doing what they did, and these days named after certain people and statues of important historical figures are a reminder of what happened and in some cases, why we should try to avoid making those same mistakes. And to tear those down is to try and rewrite and remake history when we should embrace our past and strive to not make those same mistakes. That’s why history is so important. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some history!
