We dive into a shallow start about the discovery of insulin and the controversial ethics of it, type 1 diabetes and the insulin pump. I briefly interviewed Ryan Lum, a teenager living with Type 1 diabetes, and included some snippets of his medical life through recordings.
‘Before the discovery of insulin, diabetes was a feared disease that led to certain death’. Scientists had limited knowledge on what caused type 1 diabetes and how to cure it, as their methods of refined diets only prolonged the lifespan of patients briefly before they died.
