Welcome to Share podcast. I'm your host, Chris Cellura, and I want to hear your story. I don't care if you don't think it's interesting - someone out there will. You might think that your story is really not that special. In the days before this podcast started and I was going around telling peopleā¦
Hello everyone. As always thank you for tuning in for what is now the second episode! I hope that you all really enjoyed the first episode. The conversation was fun, light-hearted, and even hysterical at times. I know that both Petti and Charles really had a lot of fun recording it as did I...!For this episode, I want to introduce to you a very dear friend of mine. Though his humility might make it hard for him to admit it: Ben wears many medals of honor - certainly, more than I can recite here. To name a few - Ben is a father, a friend, a son, a fiance and, I might add, an incredibly talented musician.Ben and I ran into each other through a church circle that we both used to belong to. As we are both musicians, we hit it off well musically with Ben's 'spitting fire' and holding the rhythm on guitar while I would pop in here and there with a few little licks on my guitar and hold together the harmony... I can probably find a recording somewhere and - come to think of it - it might even be fun to post as a short musical entry for the podcast one day. Better yet, perhaps Ben and I will get together again now that he is back in town and maybe write something original for the podcast. We'll have to see! (Ben, I know that if you are listening - you would love to do that - so call me. Let's find a time and make that happen! Before we get started here - just a quick word of caution: this episode does contain a bit of explicit material and I would mention that it is not for the faint of heart. If you are easily offended or have small children in the room, I would recommend that you listen at a different time. Also, I would strongly encourage you to please - please listen through to the end of this episode. The first part of Ben's story may come across as being too raw or unruly for some, but out of respect for Ben's incredible vulnerability and honesty in sharing it would only be fair to listen to the end if you are able so that you come away with Ben's entire story. That being said, this is Ben's story and he deserves the final word. Thank you for listening.
For all of you Grease fans out there; you're gonna love this one!
I was driving to work on 694 the other day and this guy cut me off and I got pissed. I mean, I was like... seething inside... And then a thought came into my head, "You just got so angry with that guy, but little do you know: he just got a call that things are taking a turn for the worst with his daughter in the hospital...!" "Oh, I replied... good point. Maybe I shouldn't go straight to anger on the road. Or with my wife... Or with my kids... Or with customers... Or with... anyone really. I guess I can just never know or have complete comprehensive knowledge of any situation no matter how strongly I feel... not even my own!" And this is how the Share podcast was born. We live in a pretty awesome world. In that world, there are pretty awesome people and... some not-so-awesome people. Regardless of whether you feel like you are an awesome person or a not-so-awesome person, let me tell you, dear listener - you have a story. Not only do have a story, but you have a story worth sharing. You might think that your story is really not that special. In the days before this podcast started and I was going around telling people that I wanted to start a podcast that's just all about people sharing their stories, the line that I heard more than any other was, "My life is really not that interesting...I don't have a story." Bullshit. I mean, even if your thing since you've been little has been competitive knitting, scrapbooking, plant collecting, fundamental analysis or accounting, you name it - you have a story! You've just been conditioned to believe that the only stories worth sharing are stories about this or that. Well, throw that all out the window! This is the Share podcast and I want to hear your story! Enjoy listening! I know that I certainly will... -END-
