For this episode, the title says it all. Indigenous People Day has been a time of deep contemplation since he read A Different Mirror. He actually didn’t finish, he looked at me with watery eyes and said he just couldn’t take another broken treaty and the book has been on the self since then. That was last year. This year we had a conversation that left us both speechless. A loose tooth brought a few giggles but mainly we processed hard truths together. History is a hard subject to teach but I find that advocacy makes the realities of history feel less hopeless.
