Follow me as I launch my platform to teach public speaking and the psychology behind overcoming your fears. Enjoy the ride!
It's been over a month since I started podcasting! Feels quite incredible to be honest, so here's one to the future, and all that it may hold!
It's good to be back! Hello again from behind the Great Firewall of China, where it's been difficult to reach out lately, thanks to their National Day coming up. Now that I'm back again, I'd like to share two tips on how to improve your posture onstage, as well as your gestures. Here we go!
After discussing the voice and how to use it in the previous episodes, I just remember a bad memory of mine, and realized that there is another big mental barrier that is holding many people back from taking the stage and doing any kind of public speaking. The fact is that most people don't like the sound of their own voice. And if they don't like it,how can anyone else possibly like it? How important is it to have a great voice? How important is it to love your own voice? That's what today is all about!
Here's the next installment on voice control. This time, we'll talk more in depth about pacing and pausing, and the effect they have on your speech.
Let's keep talking about the voice! Continuing on from the last video, here are even more tips here on how to use your voice as a weapon to get your message across. The focus this time is on the holy trinity of pitching, pacing, and pausing...
Now, let's talk about our primary weapon for speaking, namely the voice. A special shoutout to my friend @Mari Shofner for inspiring me to add some singing and singing experience into these talks on public speaking, I've really enjoyed it so far! A lot can be said, and has been said, about how to use the voice to better get our message across, and I will definitely return to this topic many times in the future. But for now, here's some tips to get you started, even if you're not a fan of singing ;) Here's the silly voices skit I mentioned, unfortunately it's audio only; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwc1FW_Ajx8
Here we go, picking up where we left off last time! Last time we talked about a few ways to prepare yourself before giving a speech, this time we'll focus on one of the key ingredients of a speech or presentation, namely the script. But is it even necessary to have one? Here's my take on this age old question. What's your idea on this matter? ;)
Hey there! In the last episode, I mentioned that one of the keys to commanding the stage is confidence, and that one of the best ways to gain confidence is to be properly prepared. So how do you get prepared then? Here, I'll show you three ways to prepare yourself. These ideas may seem unorthodox at first, but you should try them and see what happens...
Welcome to episode number 10, time really flies! In this episode, we'll discuss something that is vital to being successful onstage. As you're about to find out, it's a truly powerful tool that has been used many times to change the world, both for better and for worse. Learn to master it yourself, if nothing else to ensure it is not used against you with evil intent.
While thinking about what we talked about last time, I came to an important insight about a habit many people overlook. This habit may seem insignificant, but it has greatly impacted how I view some peoplecompared to others, and if adapted, can greatly improve both your reputation and your results. See for yourself what it is...
A short episode this time. I woke up on the wrong sid eof the bed, with a nasty cold, and a sore throat. I really did not want to do any podcasting today, but then I remembered something...
It's time for me to confess a sin. This mistake has held me back in many areas of life, including speaking onstage. It's very obvious when you think about it, but it's well hidden in plain sight, so learn from my mistakes, and save yourself a lot of trouble!
I've got some exciting work in progress that I would like to share with you! It's still early, but I'm feeling great about this, and I can't wait to see it come alive!
Today I would like to talk a bit more about my background, and how I've come to have a passion for all things stage related, and above all else for overcoming stage fright, and help others do the same. Enjoy!
During a talk with a good friend, I got to know about another reason behind stage fright that I didn't know before. This one might actually surprise you a bit...
A short and simple episode today. Here is a simple, but very effective way to improve your confidence and ability to speak in front of others. Enjoy!
In this episode, we are going to look at some ways to overcome your fear of doing new things. I will share some of my earliest attempts at public speaking, and what I learned from them.
Welcome! In this very first episode, I will share a little trick I use to conquer the feeling of not being good enough, or the fear of trying something new. Got a question you want answered or an idea for a topic? Please let me know!
