What's Holding You Back?

This episode I share a personal story about fear. I've allowed fear to hold me back in the past, but not anymore! It left me feeling stuck, and as if I couldn't move, and it wasn't the best feeling. I had to dig and understand what was making me feel so stagnant and only after confronting that was I able to begin moving forward. We all have our reasons for being fearful, and I hope that by sharing my story and how I've started to overcome that fear and move forward, it will inspire you to take your steps towards growth. Part of my journey has been to stop overthinking and replace that wasted time with more action! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jaymilltalks/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jaymilltalks/support

Can positive thinking help?

Thanks for finding the episode! This one is about the power of positivity and how it has been transformative in my life since I have started to understand what the idea of positive thinking means. In the episode, I discuss how practicing positive thinking is an ongoing ordeal. It is more than just one-off instances of making more beneficial decisions or thinking good thoughts. Positive thinking is challenging and a lifestyle choice that requires daily practice and monitoring of your own thoughts and decisions. Positive thinking is about doing making tough decisions and fighting with our brains a little bit when we naturally want to take the easy route. Maybe that's why I get off task so easily?? With everything there are setbacks, practicing positive thinking is no different. As long as we are able to notice what's going on in our minds and actively redirect when we can, that is progress. I hope you will take on the challenge to add more positivity to your life if that's something you need as I do from time to time. Remember, be patient and kind to yourself when you are trying new things! How's social distancing going?

We are in a very unique time with everything that's going on in the world. There is a lot of uncertainty and a lot of negative going around at the moment. I want this episode to have a different tone from what's been going on in the media and find some positives to our current situation. Social distancing has freed up a lot of time for some of us out there and we've got to make the most of that time, but also take care of ourselves and the people around us. In this episode, I share some things that have helped me focus mya attention and give myself something productive to do while we have this time away from normal life. My goal is to have this episode remind you of somethings you may not have paid attention to while you were so busy a few weeks ago, and look deeper into those passions and other things that can bring your life some joy. Remember to do what you can to help out your community and we will all get through this. I hope you'll enjoy the episode! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jaymilltalks/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jaymilltalks/support

Don't Forget to Make Time for Yourself

I want this episode to serve as a reminder to the listeners that it is okay to make yourself a priority. So often I feel we get caught up in taking care of others and being there for other people that we forget to give ourselves the same energy. In this episode, I share a few things that I do to make sure I'm monitoring myself and just making sure I'm doing things for myself from time to time. My self-care looks different from what others may do, some of what I do is quirky, some of my methods have come only after doing research and reading and that's okay! Our processes or methods of self-care don't have to be the same, the important part is that we are actively doing things that are positively affecting us.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jaymilltalks/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jaymilltalks/support
