This is the hour of Prime, an hour lost during Breviary reforms. This is my second favorite hour in the Carmelite Rite Little Office because of the Psalm selection, and the collect asking God’s protection against our fragility when faced with sin.
Lauds is the prayer with the coming of the dawn. It is often said with Matins, but can be said alone. I recorded this as a stand alone. It is often considered “morning prayer.”
This is prayer at night, the prayer before bed.
