Mountain of Zen

When it comes to seeing the essential aspects of ourselves and of reality, we must be serious about committing to practice -- because, after all, we have a lifetime of conditioning to overcome. But if we will make this a priority, the fruits will speak for themselves. In time, insights begin to arise that speak to a very different kind of seeing and experiencing ourselves and the world.

Just because we experience something consistently and convincingly, doesn’t mean it’s real. I mean, really real. With enough examination, we find that the notion of the separate self is exactly one of these kinds of matters. It’s not real. Not really. It only has substance in a relative kind of way. We examine this in this the second edition of the Mountain of Zen podcast.

After much adieu — finally — the inaugural edition of the Mountain of Zen podcast is now available. In this first — of what I hope to be many editions of the MoZ podcast (that’s a nice short-form version of the name, don’t you think?) — I offer an introductory discussion on what I plan to do with this podcast. What’s the point? What will I be talking about? Why have I decided to move in the direction of audio uploads rather than written articles? I touch on all of these points in this initial, introductory podcast.
