*WARNING! EXPLICIT LANGUAGE*. Did you know that Parents in today’s society contribute in the cyber bullying of other parents and it has become the norm? It’s quite unsettling. I stumbled upon a viral post of a concerned mother of a three year old unvaccinated child who took to Facebook in search of protective suggestions and precautions against a recent measles outbreak in her area. Parents on the opposite side(pro-vaccine) quickly insulted the anti-vaccination mother and brutally attacked/harassed her in the comments section of her post. The comments left by the pro-vaccine Parents were extremely disturbing to say the least. Here’s my current state of mind on the feud between the two side.
Ahhh. Another Facebook video. I really just gotta stop! This episode I want to shed light on the important difference...the HUGE difference between spanking and beating our children to death! Some of us are doing a little too much and it’s time to address it! The line between the two is not thin, it’s in fact quite THICC (as we like to say).
I recently watched a video of a young boy defending himself against a fellow classmate who had been bullying and attacking him online as well as in school (for many years) for simply being himself. After watching the video I was reminded of Matthew Shepard, who was one, amongst many victims affected daily by bullying, hate speech, and hate crimes. The video was deeply saddening to me. It’s time to stand up for others so that they no longer feel the need to have to resort to violence as a way of self defense. I apologize in advance for the tears and the cursing! I’m just super passionate about this subject.
This weeks episode is all about energy exchange in the customer service industry. I talk a bit about my experience working in customer service and compare it to my experience in being a customer. I used to hate my job and it showed! But before I left, I realized something that made a complete change in the way I presented myself to the outside world. This change which ultimately impacted the way I showed up to work was a positive one that I want to share with you all to hopefully create a domino effect in the customer service industry. I recently had an interaction on the phone via customer representative and it was quite unpleasant to say the least but it got me thinking. The root of issues within customer service starts with all of us as individuals transferring and exchanging energy with one another. It’s up to us to make sure the energy is positive. It’s difficult having to deal with negative people who are ultimately unhappy with their jobs but as long as you show kindness, remain positive, calm, and true to yourself when the shoes on the other foot(employee or customer) all will be good with the world( so to speak). From personal experience (myself being the former negative Nancy) I share my story, and my change in mindset before leaving customer service til today. It’s all about energy exchange. Hope you enjoy. Signed, Ele.
