We are looking at the New Testament book of Acts, chapter 2 in this broadcast.
We begin our series, Acts: The Extraordinarily Ordinary Life of the Church, with an introduction from Acts 1:1-3.
Christ's love is unlike the love of the world. The love of the world is fickle and prone to change. Jesus loves His people in spite of their faults, and comes in grace to them—revealing Himself to them; restoring them; and giving them purpose by commissioning them.
We see the supremacy of Jesus Kingdom in John chapter 20, in the resurrection of Christ. He conquers death, calls His sheep, commissions His disciples, and convinces those who doubt.
In the crucifixion of Christ, Christ is accomplishing exactly that for which He came—the salvation of sinners. In the eyes of the world, the death of a king is always a defeat of His Kingdom; but we know that this is not the end of the story for Christ and His Kingdom. It is only another victory in the unfailing march of His Kingdom.
Christ's Kingdom is not like the kingdoms of this world. The Kingdom of Christ is spiritual, and will prevail over the kingdoms of this world.
