A Prayer for God's people. We need prayer more than ever.
I always prided myself on my "talents." Those "good things" which others (and myself), often praised. But being a bond servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, meant not just giving up my lying, my foul mouth, or my fornications, but "everything." Even the good. Allowing Him to do as He please with it all. Because at the end of the day, that's what love is; surrendering all of yourself to the One you love. Because that's just what Christ did for us all.
A lean and hungry look comes from a Lean and hungry heart. One that had many lovers and not one of them was God. Do you have that look? Or have you seen it others?. How to detect the lean and hungry look, and replace it with the confidence that comes from a meek and quiet spirit which is precious in the sight of God.
The atheist and the Materialist of the world would have us believe that there is only the physical world that exist. And as a result human beings are merely a higher animal. That we are "nothing but" evolved pormordial slime, just like the flowers and the animals. But is that true? I'm just musing on this subject, nothing too deep, but definately something to think about.
Scripture is the very words and mind of God; how could we think, for one moment, that we can take those living and active words into our mouths and it have absolutely no effect on the speaker (or listener)? God's word will not return to Him void; it will accomplish what He sent it to do. Either it will draw you, if your motives are pure, or if you are of the prideful or scornful, it will condemn or uncover your schemes.
There is a boldness that comes with walking in obedience to God's will and clear commands. However, when our own choices or desires have clouded our judgement or superseded the guiding of the Holy Spirit, there is hesitancy in our walk. Which the enemy can see and capitalize on.
When we fail to look beyond our own happiness, our desires, preferring rather to have everything our way and making it all about ourselves, we become short-sighted. Which renders us unable to see the long-term effects of our sin. Because instead of yielding our will to God's will and allowing Him to remedy the situation (which many times means waiting or not having our way), we go about "fixing it" ourselves. Which may bring 'some" temporary relief or it may fix some aspects of the problem, but it also produce destruction in the process. And inthe long it's not God's will although He, in His mercy and love, can work it "together" for good.
