After God graces Gideon with miraculous signs and assembles an army of men behind him, God shrinks his army to a mere 300 men to face the 135,000 strong Midianites. Gideon acts on God's authority and follows the command without argument. Yet he was fearful and concerned. What's your 32,000 to 300 moment? And how should we respond?
Gideon had God's promise but he still doubted and asked for signs from God that He would actually do what He said. Why? Because Gideon didn't know God. When we know God we will know His promise.
God challenges Gideon's identity calling him to rise to a new belief, renew his mind and actions, and rebuild the community around him.
