Schooling in The United States

As the semester comes to an end and after completing the EDU 275 Course, we’re revisiting our responses from the beginning and reflecting on how they might have changed now knowing what we know. Join Kevin, Cade, Lauren, and Sydney as they tackle the four course umbrella objective questions. 1. What was, is, and should be the purpose of schooling in the United States? 2. What is our role as a future teacher in fulfilling that purpose? 3. How can schooling continue the existing order? 4. How can schooling transform the existing order?

Several years later, we still find barriers and biases towards minority students in classrooms across America. Join in on the conversation as a group of teachers in training discuss how educational barriers of the past are still haunting students in the present.
