The government wants you to believe America's food safety system is working. But this latest Salmonella outbreak tells a very different story. Nearly 100 Americans across 17 states have gotten sick. Twenty six have been hospitalized. The source? Eggs from a massive industrial producer. Here's the question nobody in Washington seems willing to answer. If the company found Salmonella in its own testing, why did Americans continue getting sick for months before a recall was finally issued? This outbreak stretches back more than seven months before the government finally acted. Seven months. That is an unacceptable lapse in oversight.
