Hi. this is storytime, a storytelling podcast by storytellers London. We bring you tales from all over the world. I am PJ and I am your host. I am originally Jamaican living in London and I am a poet. I am a descendant and practitioner of a rich tradition of performing arts and oral culture, passed on to me both by way of direct inheritance and ancestral echoes. Some of the best times I can recall spending with my mother was when she was telling us stories or reciting poems to us. Everything about it was tender and direct and in that moment, there was presence. There was no laundry to be done, no meals to prep, no chores to be discharged. There was no being propelled by the dailiness of survival. just us, the moment and the magic. This podcast seeks to honour that. The pleasure. The transcendence. The moments. The weavers. The stories and the storytellers. Stories are what this is about. The story of me, of you, of us. Stories that make us immortal. Stories that tell of our magic. Stories that chart our journeys, the highs, the lows and everything in between. There is always a story to showcase, and an audience to indulge.
