The TRST BLCK WMXN Podcast is a part of a creative ecosystem including a personal pilgrimage and theological claim which centers the holy voices, stories and knowledges of Black women. In this sacred space, we take seriously the question “what does it mean to trust Black women,” and unpack healing, justice, community, family, relationships and God. We even ask ourselves, what does it mean when we can't trust Black women -- all from Black feminist and womanist lens. This is the pulpit re-imagined; and you'll experience first hand the wisdom of Black women. Curated by: ashlove
For this version TRST BLCK WMXN, I’m continuing conversations with Black women in search of the lessons that our grandmothers and mothers taught us. I’m sharing sacred space with Black women in my community to listen deeply as we talk about who shapes us -- and how does that contribute to the work we do — whether it’s social justice work, creative work or ministry. These conversations assess a moral formation but also bridge gaps and uplift the oral tradition of storytelling. I’m not simple asking the question, What does it mean to trust Black women? I’m embodying and practicing trust while in a posture of deep listening. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
In the pilot episode, The TRST BLCK WMXN Podcast is inspired by Dr. Melva Sampson. On this podcast, we take seriously the question of “what it means to trust black women,” and we stretch that question to include “what it means to do so as a holy practice?” We embrace Black feminist and Womanist thought. We center black women’s lived experience. And we honor the bodies, voices, and historically subjugated knowledges of the divine.
