It is not often that you get to spend time with an undertaker. This piece is a glimpse into the world of Mr Dunga, a funeral practitioner based in a township 15km outside of Cape Town called Gugulethu. The space that he operates from is not the clinical, sterile environment you may associate with the preparation of dead bodies. Rather his funeral home reflects the realities of his everyday experience as he manages death in a context of poverty. A reality he takes on with grace, humour and dignity. Produced by: Kim Winter Recording & Sound Design by: Tim Pringle and Simon Attwell Image by Gregory Gill / Title Music: Whispering Through by Asura
