Living each moment with the zeal of a warrior and the sensitivity of an artist.
I'll never forget the groundbreaking 1996 Album Endtroducing by DJ Shadow. I've listened again and again and I'm still a student of the drum.
A song about searching for answers in a world that appears to be in chaos and sinking.
A song about being on a journey and finally being ready to accept healing.
Spontaneous Vocals by Kabar and Masamichi over a track arranged by @JVANIER - A Halfway Between Collaboration.
A track written in real time in Seattle with @JVANIER guitar and Javriel KABAR Trust-Drake (Halfway Between) on vocals. Likely the most real shit we have on vocals.
How did we get too this place -- Where a man can die just for the color of his face And I as a white man, feel so ashamed, to call myself an American I feel some how I am to blame I can’t breathe, we can’t breath, we can’t see - we are skin deep, we are stuck halfway between And so the fisherman gonna open up your eyes And yes he’ll take you, take you to the sky And yes we roll, we roll on with the tide But that fisherman gonna take you to the sky Somewhere on a universal plane All things like pain and age seem the very same I think you know just what it is that I mean Seeing this state of need and state of greed I pray that the generations of youth that will lead us into the future find a way to go beyond the failings of their forefathers.
This is a track I started working on back in 2006 in Mumbai India. Then in 2013, I went into the Seattle Guitar Center's "beautiful guitars" room, grabbed the best acoustic I could get my hands on, turned on my iPhone audio recorder and wrote the rest (75%) of this track on the spot. A bit raw and I hope you enjoy it. halfwaybetween.com
