Women in the Abyssinian Pulpit

The theme for Abbyssian’s 2019 women’s month celebration was Hope for Our Daughters. Reverend Dr. Neichelle Guidry, who is the Dean of Chapel at Spelman College , delivered a powerful word to the congregation. Listen to her message about the power of a singing spirit, the biblical story of Paul, the problems of patriarchy and the meaning of Sankofa. Dr. Guidry says, “ the spirit often says sing when the world tells you to be quiet, when we begin to resist, when we begin to disrupt.” She goes on to ask, “What is your song that will set you free?
