As educators, we have a duty to promote the books and literature we provide within the classroom. Reading is essential to understanding and interpreting the world. At an early age we teach children and students the inherent power literature has and how it can be relevant to their lives as well as their academic success. Literature is a very important tool to teach and mold young (and old) students. It is especially influential to students when they relate to the characters and the content of the book.
