A podcast by Jim Dexter of ILA Cohort #9, 2019 Nova Scotia Education Leadership Consortium.
The second episode is centred around a lengthy interview I conducted with my father, Noel Dexter, as we compared and contrasted Instructional Leadership now and then over the course of more than 75 minutes. Questions focused on his past, my present, and we looked at topics like assessment, supervision of teachers, and leadership in education in general. I owe my father a lot ... his simplest advice to me was always to "look after my own baileywick". If you Google "baileywick", the second alternate meaning reads: the sphere in which one has superior knowledge or authority. In other words, take care of what's immediate and that you know best! Thanks Dad, I love you and very much appreciate what you and mom have done for me.
Intended to be my reflection on the learnings in Course 1 as part of the Instructional Leadership Academy. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1PKqu66392aHAGx1M0mXVCLpv1KvrkkSmY7RbX0gfv8E/edit?usp=sharing
