In this episode of For Your Information I delve into snippets from the history of prostitution in India. In order to learn about the history of prostitution in India you can read the very interesting works of Uma Chakravarti, Usha Ramanathan, Padma Anagol, Sumanta Banerjee, Ratna Kapur, or you can just listen to me ramble about the most interesting aspects of the subject for half an hour too long.

This podcast is a rambling history of the popular song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". I tell you about its original composer, Solomon Linda, who (well, his successors) only got royalties from Disney for his 1952 composition in 2006. I make random observations along the way and never really get to the point I start out making; and where I take 20 minutes to tell you that Linda was done badly by but later things got sorted fine.
