Podcast by FUSS Pod
This week, we discuss the cycle of gentrification and the effect it has on Toronto's music scene with Rabia Munir, an undergraduate student at York University who is working on a project that examines the consequences of an unsupported creative class in urban spaces. We discuss the challenges of being a musician in a city that's losing music venues, the intersections of race and gender and what the future of Toronto's music scene may one day look like.
This week, we're joined by Amber Ghosh, the president of York University’s Federation of Urban Studies Student. Amber is a graduating student here at York University and has put in an immense amount of time and effort to get FUSS, the organization behind this podcast, back on it’s feet and able to represent the urban studies program. She’s a delight to talk to and full of positive energy about the future of this program and what urban studies can offer students.
