This is a big question that we all come across in our christian walk. We've all most likely asked it ourselves and hopefully we've all done some thorough biblical research into the answers. We also challenge you guys to read more than what we or anyone asks of you, for example, in this episode one of the scriptures we quoted was from Romans 6 verse 6 - 7 and verses 14 & 23. we have challenged you to read the entirety of Romans chapter 5, 6 and 7. This is an extremely important part of performing a very thorough reading of scripture and will further your scriptural understanding in immense amounts. Tim and I share our response and we hardly even mention Eternal damnation. Season 1 Episode 6 Theme - Salvation In this episode, we share some thoughts & our understanding around the question : Why do we need salvation? This is a question that plagues a lot of humanity, and perhaps has even caused many people to give up on pursuing faith. We, as humans, grapple with this question in trying to give pros and cons to salvation, but we believe that thought process is going about it all wrong. We dig into our understanding of what salvation is and then go into further details about why we believe everyone needs salvation. Season 1 Episode 5 Theme - Salvation In this episode Tim and I continue with our theme of Salvation. We follow on from Episode 4 : 'What is Salvation?' and we delve a bit further into the story and narrative that threads through the biblical story, with the gospel of Jesus being the very fabric and fibre of that narrative. **We really enjoyed recording this one and felt it was necessary to put it out, however, Tim did have some technical issues with his microphone so his vocals don't sound as clear as we'd like. We get introspective and share our Testimonies. Tim and I were raised in completely opposite atmospheres and under completely differing belief sets, and still God has weaved Himself into the fabric of our two distinctly different lives and worked in our hearts to His glory and purpose. Sharing our testimonies is very important as it is an incredibly real view of how God has and is at work in our lives. We encourage you to listen and glorify God for His goodness and also to be inspired to share your own testimony and to not be ashamed of what God has reached His hand and pulled you from. Welcome to Season 1 of Imperfect Reflection. We, yes that's correct, 'We' are extremely excited about what is on the roster for this upcoming season. Now let's get back to 'We', This is where Tim joins and Imperfect Reflection becomes what my (Darren's) heart and intentions for it always were; a conversation, people engaged in growing with one another and challenging each other to seek truth and to live authentically, to show truthfully in who we are that Jesus is The Truth. So welcome Tim and let's get to that conversation. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/imperfectreflection/message
The foundation of our faith is the gospel; the good news of Jesus Christ. It is greatly encouraging to know that God reaches out to us amidst the barrage of bad news. **This is a bonus episode that we created to promote the podcast which we entered into the myrodecast 2020 competition.** --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/imperfectreflection/message
We chat about something Unityandgrace.pa said on our instagram feed about how the body of Christ should, pursue, pioneer and foster unity amongst all the churches and all members. We are all parts of the body of Christ. We discuss what is unity and why are called to have it? How do we pursue and foster unity in our churches and in a global sense and then how do we pray for and what do we pray for in order to have unity? I share of our current struggle with understanding God's heart about healing and ask for prayers and revelation of His will and truth, and that He will speak to us directly in our struggle that we will know The truth and be set free. So I started an instagram page for the podcast because I really want us to connect, to be able to share our stories and thoughts. This podcast is not only about my voice, its to stir up all our voices and get us all talking and sharing life. We are not perfect; not a single one of us. So lets not pretend we have it all together, lets help each other out and ask questions. The instagram page is @imperfectreflectionpodcast please share your thoughts, questions, perspective and conversation points on the page. Let's talk.. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/imperfectreflection/message
Sooooo. I deleted the audio from the first podcast by accident and all that was left on the actual podcast was the intro and outro..epic fail. So I did a short (read 14 minute long) summary and then I introduce myself and speak on why I want to do the podcast, Do I think my voice matters and a bit about a struggle I had with lust and porn and then end on what marriage is to Tanzinne and I and how we approach it. Thanks for joining and please respond in any way you can. We are a community designed to serve one another. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/imperfectreflection/message
Episode#2 In this episode we explore God. I chat about the recent realizations I’ve come to within my faith and within understanding who God is outside of my need for Him. We are all imperfect in need of a perfect savior and His perfection is worthy of our adoration. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/imperfectreflection/message
This is a listening guide to help you navigate the episodes as some were initially recorded with just one host whilst we worked out the logistics of recording episodes from across the world. Please note that any episode with (Darren) in the title was only recorded with a single person, any episodes without it, are the podcast in its intended cast and format. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/imperfectreflection/message
