When you think about the history of Nigeria, there are two things that comes to mind- the military coups and the civil war. The losts of life, losts of property, the poverty, the insecurity that bestowed on us as a nation. But these are negative histories. Look a further back before the civil war and the military coups, you realize that Nigeria is founded on a more lovely history and that is the history that brought about our Independence. The history that saw men and women from different backgrounds, men and women who spoke different languages come together to fight a common battle and that was to end the British rule.
