Salmon are abundant in Alaska and provide food and fishing jobs for thousands of people. Salmon in Europe, Japan, New England, and the Pacific Northwest have almost disappeared however, as human populations have grown. With increasing urban expansion, mining projects, climate change, and allocation fights between user groups, the future of salmon in Alaska is now at a crossroads, and a conversation about their survival is timely and relevant.
