"The first time I went out on a tandem we went straight out the drive, into the neighbours and nearly hit their garage." Tim Caldwell has an amazing story. 6 years ago to the day of recording this podcast, Tim had a cardiac arrest that nearly killed him. It left him with severe brain injury, loss of vision and unable to walk or talk. He recovered, yet his vision did not return. His cousin Andy persuaded him that a mammoth bike ride from Reading, through the New Forest and around the Isle of Wight was a good way to show how far he has come after the life changing event. Of course this meant that a tandem bike was necessary with Andy as the pilot and Tim doing the hard work at the back. This podcast follows their 200 mile adventure, peppered with anecdotes of bottom pain, snoring and dodging pub landlords. Most of all though, it is a story that is truly inspiring.
