Welcome to Classic Skeptic Metaphysicians! We're re-releasing some of our back catalog so that these gems can be re-discovered!This week: Should We Fear Death? An Honest Conversation with Hospice Nurse Julie McFaddenDeath. It's the one certainty we all share...and the one topic most of us avoid like the plague. For years, Will openly admits his biggest fear was dying. Not just the process… but the terrifying possibility of nothingness afterward. And even after years of exploring consciousness, spirituality, and Near-Death Experiences on this show, that old panic still sneaks in from time to time. So this week, we go straight to the source. We sit down with Hospice Nurse Julie McFadden, a former ICU nurse turned hospice advocate who has witnessed hundreds of deaths, and calls the experience not tragic… but beautiful. Yes. Beautiful. Julie pulls back the curtain on what really happens as the body shuts down, what families often misunderstand about the dying process, and why so many people report seeing deceased loved ones in the final weeks of life. We cover:What actually happens to the body in the final months, weeks, and hoursWhy dying does not automatically mean sufferingThe science behind decreased appetite, increased sleep, and metabolic shiftsWhat “visioning” is, and why it happens to so many peopleWhether atheists experience end-of-life visions tooThe truth behind the “6 ounces of the soul” mythWhat it feels like to be in the room when someone takes their final breathWhy education about death reduces fearAnd the ultimate question: Is there life after death?Julie speaks candidly about the mysterious, metaphysical phenomena she's witnessed, and the sacred stillness that seems to fill a room when someone transitions. This conversation may not give you absolute certainty about what lies beyond… But it may radically change how you think about the journey getting there. If you've ever feared the process of dying… If you've ever sat beside a loved one and wondered if they were suffering… Or if you're simply curious about what really happens when we take our last breath… This episode might bring you more peace than you expect. Why This Episode Matters We spend so much time preparing for life. Almost none preparing for death. And yet, according to someone who sees it daily, the body knows exactly what to do. The real fear may not be death itself…But our misunderstanding of it. Listen in. You may walk away feeling lighter. The Skeptic Metaphysicians is a spiritual awakening podcast for open-minded thinkers who refuse to check their critical thinking at the door. Each episode explores consciousness expansion, enlightenment, soul purpose, and soul growth through honest, grounded conversation with leading voices in metaphysics, psychic phenomenon, quantum healing, and beyond. We dive deep into spiritual awakening, ascension, alignment, and the awakening process without the dogma. From mediumship and spirit guides to Arcturian contact, astrology, and the subconscious mind, we explore it all with curiosity, humor, and zero guru worship. Whether you're in the middle of your own awakening, questioning reality, or just spiritually curious, this is the podcast for seekers and skeptics alike.Subscribe, Rate & Review! If you found this episode enlightening, mind-expanding, or even just thought-provoking (see what we did there?), please take a moment to rate and review us. Sarah and Susie are participating in an unconventional macabre game when they predict which celebrities will die this year, but Sarah argues it's a "celebration of life." We debate the Tourette's Syndrome scandal at the BAFTAs and consider what the appropriate way to handle it was. Susie shares a story of a woman who's AI chatbot started claiming she would meet her soulmate at a particular time and place, and, spoiler alert, she didn't, but now she's raising alarm bells about the persuasive nature of AI and LLMs. We discuss the Olympic skater known as the Quad God and his disappointing performance in Madrid, and we learn the science of "choking" when put under pressure and techniques to help prevent the "yips," or choking when stressed. Susie describes The Queen of Chess documentary, the sexism in the sport, the little girl who beat Bobby Fisher's 30-year record, and why grown men are petrified of losing to a girl.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Get $30 off your first box - PLUS free Croissants for life - when you go to https://wildgrain.com/braincandy to start your subscription today! This episode is sponsored by Betterhelp. Mary, a varsity college swimmer, shares her Near-Death Experience -- the moment she slipped beneath the pool water during a competition, saw the face of her grandmother, and heard the unmistakable voice of God behind her. ---------- We open with that powerful encounter. But the story doesn't end in the pool. Years later, after attending one of my talks at a local parish, and initially brushing off the podcast, Mary tuned back in -- and suddenly the message wasn't just interesting. It was personal. And Convicting. Sometimes God lets you drift for a season. And sometimes He brings you back to face the one thing standing between you and freedom. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. Shawna Ristic is a nationally recognized healer who shares the story of her Near Death Experience when, at 19, a catastrophic car accident left her in a coma for several weeks and changed the course of her life. During her NDE, she met a Council of vibrational beings, that she works with to this day, and awakened to the love that is the fabric of everything and the essence of each of us. Upon awakening from the coma, Shawna realized she had come to earth to help people heal and find their way home, back to awareness of Love, and set out on a path to do that. Today, we're celebrating Sarah's birthday by hoping she gets to do what she loves most, sneaking food into the cinema. We also vent about a torturous hike ruined by unprompted motivational speeches from men on the trail. Then, we get into the science of attraction. Think you have a "type"? In this episode I'm talking to Barbara Bartolome about her two near death experiences.Barbara is a two time NDEr. Her first NDE resulted from a childhood illness at 18 months of age, when a high fever caused her to go into convulsions and stop breathing, which resulted in cardiac arrest. As the ambulance arrived outside their home, her parents and older siblings witnessed her spontaneously regain consciousness, after an 8-10 minute period without heart or lung activity. She was not informed of this early-life event until her siblings finally disclosed it, when she was 53 years old.Her second NDE occurred when she went into cardiac arrest due to a radiology technician's error during a pre-surgery diagnostic procedure in 1987, at St. Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara. Finding herself above the x-ray table, she watched the medical team's resuscitation efforts and experienced the presence of a magnificent spiritual being. After being successfully resuscitated, she accurately recounted to the astonished medical team their individual comments and actions during the resuscitation, which was quite alarming to the team. Because her medical team and the hospital staff then strictly avoided discussing her experience with her, she rarely spoke about it for over twenty years, until she found the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (www.nderf.org) in 2007 and the IANDS organization (www.iands.org) in 2009.These organizations helped to connect her to others who had experienced NDEs and they expanded her understanding of death and the survival of consciousness beyond death, allowing her to finally assimilate her experiences, as well as to understand their impact upon her life and worldview. She considers her NDEs as incredible gifts, deeply feeling that it is her life purpose to share what they teach with others. Barbara founded IANDS Santa Barbara in August 2011 and is strongly committed to the IANDS organization's purpose in promoting responsible, multi-disciplinary exploration of near-death and similar experiences, examining their effects on people's lives, and their implications for the change to our beliefs about life, death, afterlife, consciousness, and human purpose. She serves as the IANDS designated Group Mentor to all IANDS groups in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, and Hawaii. Barbara has talked about her NDE experiences in videos, documentaries, podcasts, radio and TV shows, and at conferences, symposiums, hospitals, hospices, colleges, churches, and at various groups all over the country, and beyond!IANDS Santa Barbara https://www.iandssb.com/#/ https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. What if consciousness isn't just in your brain, but in every cell of the universe? In this episode of Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, Dr. Marjorie Woollacott—renowned neuroscientist and leading researcher on consciousness and spiritual experience—shares her personal journey of spiritual awakening. She describes a transformative guided meditation where she felt an electric current flow from her head to her heart, accompanied by an overwhelming sense of love unlike anything she'd ever experienced. Dr. Woollacott dives into the science, the mysticism, and the practical wisdom behind spiritual transformation, including: - Why it's vital to integrate spiritual experiences into daily life and how she finally merged her academic & spiritual paths after keeping them separate for so long - Neural features in the brain that limit access to extrasensory perception, and why some people are born with “their senses wide open” - Why you don't need a scientific explanation to fully embrace the positive transformation of a spiritual awakening - Practical tips to quiet your mind & deepen meditation, even if you've struggled in the past - How connection matters more than ever in challenging global times - Who is more likely to have psi abilities, and how Near Death Experiences can unlock hidden potential - How some people can go beyond space & time if they believe it's possible - Why placebo works & how to balance self-agency with surrendering to the universe - Her belief that consciousness exists differently in dreams & alternate states, and how collective consciousness can create real-world change - The incredible story of a doctor's out-of-body experience during hypnotic regression in an NDE, and what it teaches us about the mind and soul - Scientific argument for why telekinesis could be possible - Importance of finding purpose, noticing synchronicities, and staying “open” to life's hidden signals - Power of prayer & Reiki, and why establishing energetic boundaries between healer & patient is essential Whether you're curious about spiritual awakening, consciousness, extrasensory perception, near death experiences, or the science behind mysticism, this conversation will expand your mind, open your heart, and challenge what you thought was possible. Marieta Pehlivanova, PhD, is a research scientist at the University of Virginia’s Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS), which is a highly unique research group that investigates the mind’s relationship to the body, and the possibility of consciousness surviving physical death. They study children who report past-life memories, people who have near-death experiences, and more. Their work is fascinating, and it has the potential to change and shape our understanding of…well, why we’re here in the first place, and what the meaning of our lives really is. This week I'm talking to Nancy Rynes about her Near Death Experience.Nancy Rynes was riding her bicycle when a large SUV approached. The vehicle's driver, absorbed in texting while driving, plowed right into Rynes.Suffering from severe spinal and head injuries, Rynes knew she was dying. At that moment, she underwent the first of two life-changing near-death experiences—her consciousness split between her frightened, injured self laying on the road, and an impartial, peaceful observer-consciousness who watched as first responders fought to keep her alive. Her second, more lengthy near-death experience came days later, during the surgery that attempted to repair her traumatized spine.Rynes, a scientist and confirmed skeptic, was shown the wonders of Heaven, experiencing joy, love, and beauty on such a grand scale that she wept at its magnitude. She then met and spoke with a Being who gave her insights into life, love, and the wonders of Spirit. After her tour of Heaven, she was returned to her body to begin the long, slow process of recovering from injuries her surgeon affirms should have killed her.In her book 'Awakenings from the Light', Rynes recounts the amazing sights of Heaven, and explains the remarkable insights into life she returned with to share with others. She was gifted with a second chance—a precious opportunity to bring a little bit of Heaven into her life on Earth. The wisdom she passes on could well change your life as well.BioMy friends call me "the atheist who went to Heaven."I would never have thought I would be writing a book about spirituality and near-death experiences since I spent my adult life as a scientist and skeptic. Born Roman Catholic, I became an atheist, and later an agnostic, beginning in my late teens when I went off to university to study geology and archaeology. While I started out my education as an artist (at Chicago's American Academy of Art), I went on to earn a degree in geology from Northern Illinois University, then attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, for Masters-level coursework. The sciences taught me to base my views on things I could measure, and since spiritual matters were not measurable, for me they did not exist.During most of my adult life, a part of me hoped there was something more than just physical reality, but I never saw evidence for it. The skepticism remained until January of 2014, when the Divine gave me a wake-up call: an opportunity to return to Spirit! Since my near-death experience, I have returned to a more spiritual and creative life based on the wisdom I learned in Heaven. In the past, I have been an archeological artist, geologist, data analyst, and science/technical writer. But then Heaven threw me a curveball, one I desperately needed. Now I am writing and teaching about my experience of the Divine, what happens when we die, and how we can bring a little bit of "Heaven" to our lives on Earth.https://www.amazon.com/Awakenings-Light-Lessons-Death-Experience-ebook/dp/B010MBT4QC https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This episode I am reading from Lynne McGinnis's book 'Overcoming Adversity by Embracing the Higher Truths: One Woman's Journey to Spiritual Awakening'.Lynne McGinnis grew up feeling defective—bombarded by parental atheism, messages that there was "something wrong" with her, relentless bullying, and a deep-seated panic over death. She sought refuge in compulsive achievements, excelling as a top-ranked law student and later as an attorney. Yet, her prestigious career only masked her chronic anxiety, struggles with body image, and ingrained belief that she was worthless. In the early 1990's, at one particularly low point, spiritual nudges led Lynne to participate in a 12-Step recovery program and study the liberating doctrines of the New Thought movement. This path led her to confront the ultimate fear—death—by discovering the transformative truths of Near Death Experiences and reincarnation, compelling her to seek out the world's foremost authority, Dr. Michael Newton, Ph.D., for a Life Between Lives spiritual regression session. But Lynne learned the hard way that true spiritual awakening requires changing negative thought patterns and embracing not only unconditional love of others but also, unconditional love of oneself. Thus, she continued her relentless attempt to gain self-esteem by overachieving and seeking the approval of others. This ultimately drove her to a mental and emotional collapse - a true dark night of the soul. Only then was she ready to let go of the false messages she had been giving herself for so many years and embrace the Higher Truths.Follow Lynne into the spiritual realm during her life-changing Life Between Lives (LBL) sessions with Dr. Michael Newton (author of Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls) and one of his successors, Scott. Here, her Spirit Guide and Council unlock profound memories and universal insights: Her Pre-Birth Planning: Confirmation of her soul purpose as a Teacher of Souls and her choice of a challenging family life to master the lesson of unconditional self-love. Soul Connections: The identity of her own Soul Group. The Universal View: A deep discourse on the "Watchers of the Planets," revealing why they intervened during the Cuban Missile Crisis and their current dilemma regarding the Earth's environmental crisis. The Path Forward: The ultimate realization that her fear, rage, and competitive drive were merely distractions from her true lesson: unconditional self-love—a love already bestowed by her Creator.Overcoming Adversity by Embracing the Higher Truths is more than a memoir; it is a roadmap to self-acceptance and a powerful confirmation of the soul's enduring journey. Lynne shares how embracing the timeless truth—"We are Eternal Souls human experiences who our Creator loves unconditionally"—finally dissolved decades of fear, rage, and self-sabotage, leading her to hope, purpose, and Divine alignment.Read this book if you are ready to: Heal from decades of negative self-talk and feeling "not good enough." Understand the soul-level purpose behind your deepest struggles. Find comfort in the existence of an unconditionally loving Higher Power. Embrace your true, Eternal Self and step into your highest purpose.BioLynne. I was an attorney who was employed by a large organization for over 21 years. Due to self-imposed pressure and the pressure of meeting seemingly never-ending deadlines, over the years, I felt increasingly anxious and depressed. One day, I had a stress-related breakdown. To recover from the breakdown, I followed a three-step process where I focused on all aspects of myself: my body, my mind, and my soul. This process ultimately led to what I can only describe as a spiritual awakening. My life is now filled with joy and wonder.I now feel called to help those of you who are facing work stress challenges similar to my own. Alex Gómez-Marín is a controversial figure in contemporary neuroscience, known for challenging the materialist framework that dominates scientific accounts of consciousness. He argues that Near Death Experiences (NDEs) raise profound questions about the nature of reality and the limits of reductionist explanation. In this interview, Gómez-Marín reflects on the scientific evidence we have for NDEs and what they might mean for answering ultimate questions about the purpose of human existence. Àlex Gómez-Marín is a Theoretical physicist and neuroscientist, Associate Professor at the Instituto de Neurociencias of Alicante in Spain, and director of the Pari Center in Italy. Please do email us at podcast@iai.tv with any of your thoughts or questions on the episode! To witness such talks live, buy tickets for our upcoming festival: https://howthelightgetsin.org/festivals/And visit our website for many more articles, videos, and podcasts like this one: https://iai.tv/You can find everything we referenced here: https://linktr.ee/philosophyforourtimesSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Moon comes back from Florida glowing like a man who just discovered winter doesn't have to hurt, and suddenly we're debating snowbird life, Boca Raton condos, and whether Missouri should legally relocate to Destin for spring break. This is your favorite daily comedy show, and today we are aggressively pro-sunlight.We break down Missouri's top spring break destinations (Redneck Riviera confirmed), argue Atlantic vs Gulf Coast beaches like it's a custody hearing, and discuss why Lake Havasu sounds like a Girls Gone Wild fever dream from 2003.Then Valentine's Day stories roll in.Lern takes Tim to the Endangered Wolf Center for an adults-only “VAL” event that included chocolate-covered strawberries and a deeply educational look at wolf mating habits. Yes, there was footage. Yes, Rizz immediately questioned whether the wolves were even real. It's romance, nature-style.Rafe attempts ice skating for the first time in his adult life and learns that there is, in fact, an expiration date for acquiring certain athletic skills. Buckets were stacked. Pride was tested. Heads were lightly bonked. Nobody tore an ACL — which honestly makes this episode a success.Scott celebrates Valentine's with sushi and F1 (bold move showing Brad Pitt on the most romantic night of the year), while Rizz wages war against a florist who tried to invoke “fine print” on a hotel flower delivery. An elite Yelp energy moment if we've ever seen one.We also dive into:– Mardi Gras arrest numbers in Soulard (surprisingly low)– The ethics of alleyway vs. porta potty decision-making– Watching Django Unchained with your teenage son and answering “Was this problematic?”– Why certain movies hit different when you're not 28 anymore– And whether we have officially aged out of learning new sportsIt's reflective. It's ridiculous. It's Midwest sarcasm colliding with Florida optimism. And it's another chaotic installment of your favorite daily comedy show.If you're here for a funny podcast that blends pop culture commentary, real-life fails, St. Louis energy, and Rizz and the gang arguing about beach sand clarity — welcome back to the daily comedy show that refuses to grow up (even if our knees say otherwise).Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
We are officially living the "O-head" Olympic lifestyle, but the podium isn't all glory. This week, we're debating Lindsey Vonn's controversial decision to compete on a torn ACL. Was it a display of heart, or did she rob a healthy athlete of their shot at gold? Plus, we break down the most unhinged post-race interview in history: a Norwegian bronze medalist who decided a global broadcast was the perfect place to trauma-dump about his infidelity and recent breakup. The conversation takes a serious turn as we dive into the Lucy Letby case. We analyze the trial of the neonatal nurse convicted of murdering infants and ask the tough question: was justice served, or did a flawed medical system produce a flawed trial? We also tackle the modern feminist dilemma of splitting the bill on a first date and explore the dark side of the creator economy—YouTubers who use FOIA requests to profit off body cam footage of women being arrested. Finally, Sarah is prepping for jury duty, and we're taking bets on how long it takes her to turn the courtroom into a Law & Order episode. #LucyLetby #OlympicDrama #LindseyVonn #TrueCrimePodcast #FirstDateEtiquetteBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:For 50% off your order, head to https://www.dailylook.com and use code BRAINCANDYFor a limited time, get 60% off your first order, plus free shipping, when you head to https://www.smalls.com/braincandyHead to https://www.brodo.com/CANDY for 20% off your first subscription order and use code CANDY for an additional $10 off. Possible Near Death Experience
In this conversation, I sit down with Trey Jones. Trey Jones is a former convict who spent 10 years in a Tennessee prison, and while in prison, he had a near-death experience that awakened him to a very new and different perspective. While tattooing, Trey was offered a bump, of which turned out to be fentanyl, that put him out for 18 minutes. After six cans of Narcan and three defibrillator shocks, Trey awakened to a new lens on reality. He joins us to share his current teachings on victim mindset, his insights on what he calls ‘inverted narcissism', and his wisdom as a coach - Trey moves now as a Personal Authority Coach under the moniker ‘PrisonToPurpose444' (He's the founder of ‘From Prison To Purpose') - He does 1:1 interventions to dismantle victim identity and rebuild authority. He lives a more grounded life these days, as a proud father with his partner and son in the Great Northwest. I actually met him at the edge of a forest - where a gathering of dancing energy healers, eccentric thinkers, connecting artists, and modern shamans met to evolve together, transmute, and dance through their dharma as one. Jon suffered a nearly-disastrous accident yesterday
Love is in the air as Valentine's Day approaches, but while Sarah and Amy are navigating a new romantic milestone, Susie is mostly just finding the whole shift deeply annoying. The duo dives into the social dynamics of the season by dissecting the functional differences between friendship and community, exploring why we need both even if they serve wildly different purposes in our lives. The conversation takes a sharp turn into "fitness cults" as Sarah realizes her old workout routine was less about health and more about a non-religious devotion to a gym leader, before pivoting to a bizarre news story involving a WWI artillery shell and a very delicate emergency room extraction. Naturally, this leads to a candid and hilarious debate over the 69 position; Sarah maintains it is an overrated logistical nightmare, but after Susie's passionate defense, the pair concludes that Sarah's distaste is likely just a result of poor execution.00:00 - New Relationship Dynamics and Valentine's Day Expectations10:19 - Understanding the Different Needs of Friendship and Community16:44 - Film Students and the Decline of Attention Spans24:41 - Manage Your Money and Cancel Subscriptions with Rocket Money26:46 - The Problem with Grading on a Curve in Academia30:47 - A Bizarre Emergency Room Visit: Unexploded Artillery Shell42:07 - Amplify Your Everyday with Thrive Cosmetics and Community Support44:56 - Sarah and Susie Debate the Logistics of the 69 Position49:57 - Experiencing Awe: Aquanauts and the Underwater Overview Effect54:16 - Why Public Dancing is Disappearing and Overcoming EmbarrassmentBrain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Let Rocket Money help you reach your financial goals faster. This episode I am reading from Holly Porter's book 'Near Death Shift : What Dying Taught Me About Life, Business, and Purpose'.When everything fell apart, grace held her together. After seventy days in the hospital—including two intubations, a coma, and a near-death experience—Holly Porter awoke to a life forever changed. Near Death Shift is her breathtaking true story of survival, spiritual awakening, and divine purpose. When Holly entered the hospital, she had no idea her world was about to stop breathing. Fighting for her life through sepsis, paralysis, and weeks on a ventilator, she experienced what few ever have—a journey beyond the veil. In that sacred realm, she found herself surrounded by a radiant stadium of light, angelic choirs, and divine messages that would reshape everything she believed about life, leadership, and love. What she brought back was more than hope—it was a blueprint for transformation. Through her signature SHIFT framework—Surrender, Hope, Intuition, Faith, and Transformation—Holly reveals how pain can become purpose and how surrender can lead to strength. Each lesson offers spiritual and practical guidance for anyone navigating loss, trauma, or the longing to live a more purposeful life.As Holly learned to walk, breathe, and live again, she also learned how to listen—how to trust the quiet voice of divine intuition and follow the signs that would lead her to rebuild not just her body, but her mission. Her near-death experience became a new beginning, inspiring the creation of Retreat RnR, a platform for transformational retreats, and the Adventure Bucket Wish Foundation, dedicated to helping women lead with purpose, passion, and presence.Blending powerful storytelling with timeless spiritual truths, Near Death Shift invites readers to see their own challenges through the lens of grace. It's a reminder that the hardest seasons often carry the seeds of our greatest callings—and that even in the darkest nights, love and light remain.Whether you've faced illness, loss, burnout, or a crisis of faith, this book will meet you where you are and guide you toward healing and hope. With honesty, humor, and hard-won wisdom, Holly shows that no matter what you've endured, your story isn't over—it's shifting you toward the person you were always meant to become.Readers will discover:✨ How to find divine meaning in life's hardest moments✨ The healing power of faith, surrender, and intuition✨ Tools to rebuild life after loss or trauma✨ Ways to transform adversity into abundance✨ Hope, strength, and renewed connection with what truly mattersIf you've ever wondered why you're still here—or what your pain is trying to teach you—Near Death Shift will help you uncover the light hidden within your own story.“I didn't come back to who I was—I came back to who I was created to be.”BioHolly Porter, Hon.
