A podcast about being stuck at home, indefinitely, with whoever else lives there. “Together All the Time” follows the lives of three households through the first four months of the Covid pandemic in America, from lockdown through reopening. The 10-part podcast paints an authentic picture of life in and around New York City in the spring and summer of 2020. The series explores how the pandemic has changed our relationships with food, sleep, nature, friendship, and family, and how it has altered our understanding of science, justice, race, and ultimately, each other.
As the podcast concludes, our guests reflect on their participation in “Together All the Time” and share how it has shaped their experience of the pandemic so far. They also report on recent personal developments.
As restrictions are relaxed and summer begins, some aspects of normalcy return. Our guests take more risks, protest, socialize, and even travel.
In the wake of protests over police brutality, we discuss racism in America. Our guests also comment on life at day 100 of the Covid virus in New York State.
For the first time since the pandemic began, our guests socialize outside the household. We also explore quarantine trends and what makes us resilient.
It's easy to get mad at strangers. We also explore sound during the pandemic, and what is revealed once the noise stops.
Having adapted to the "new normal", our guests anticipate an eventual, uneasy return to the old. Meanwhile, they learn to maintain and even make new social connections while stuck inside.
We finally meet the other members of the three households we’ve been following, and learn what being together all the time feels like for them.
Our guests begin to lose track of time. We explore sleep and dreams during the pandemic, and what connects us when we have so little actual contact.
