'A Pair Of Silk Stockings'

A lovely story - notice the simile 'like an owl' with reference to our Else. Is she the wiser of all the children? Notice also how the girl's imitate their parents as they grow older. I have read this story in many Shared Reading groups where we have discussed it's themes, surprisingly not everybody gets the sense of inequality that I think Mansfield wanted to portray. I'm afraid you'll have to listen carefully, I've updated my audio however it still doesn't sound great consistently. Leave a comment if you want to discuss this story.

This story is from 'The Awakening & Selected Stories ' by Kate Chopin. A level literature students may want to listen to the story before reading it or read along. Unfortunately the sound quality is not great however I hope to rectify that for further episodes.

The final part of the story will be in the next episode with some discussion. Please advise if the sound quality is not very good. This is my first podcast and I would like to get a better sound quality however for now I'm testing whether anybody will listen to the stories I choose.
