Pastor Adam and Steph relate the childhood enthusiasm for receiving parents’ gifts […]

How using compression for better circulation has always been around but why it's recently become a popular way to help deal with blood circulation issues in people of all ages. 2). The science behind how compression helps to greatly improve blood flow throughout your body when used regularly and properly. 3). Helpful information on the different levels of compression style stockings and where you can usually find them. 4). Who would be a good candidate to consider using compression stockings based on health profile, history with blood circulation or daily activities. 5). The difference between compression wear and brace type outer wear like a knee brace or ankle brace etc. /// We hope the information we've shared in this episode on compression stockings is helpful to you or someone you know who may be having issues with proper blood circulation. We go deep into this week's topics and break into the stories covered. What's happening with bot detection these days? Traditional CAPTCHAs are becoming ineffective as bots are now able to solve them easily. This has led to developers exploring alternative methods like behavior analysis and biometrics, but these come with their own privacy and accessibility concerns. The rise of AI agents further complicates things, requiring platforms to distinguish between helpful and harmful bots. Are car companies being hypocritical about data privacy? Yes, senators are calling out automakers for opposing "right-to-repair" laws while simultaneously selling customer data. They argue that automakers' cybersecurity concerns are a smokescreen for maintaining control over repair profits, as there's no evidence independent shops mishandle data more than dealerships. This raises questions about consumer rights concerning vehicle repairs and data privacy. What's the problem with digital license plates? A security researcher has demonstrated that digital license plates can be hacked to display false information, enabling users to evade tolls and tickets or even incriminate others. The vulnerability lies in the hardware and requires replacing the plate's chip to fix it, making it a costly solution. While digital plates offer convenient features, their security flaws present a significant risk. How is a GPS tracking company ironically exposing customer data? Hapn, a company specializing in GPS tracking, ironically exposed customer names, email addresses, and device serial numbers due to a misconfigured server. This incident highlights the importance of robust cybersecurity measures, especially for companies handling sensitive location data. It serves as a reminder to research a company's security practices before entrusting them with your data. Is there a privacy-focused alternative to Alexa or Google Assistant? Yes, Home Assistant has launched Voice PE, a voice-controlled device that operates entirely offline, ensuring user privacy. It supports multiple languages, offers customizable wake words, and can integrate with AI models like ChatGPT. While still in development, it offers a promising alternative for those seeking a local, privacy-centric smart home voice control system. What is Apple doing about spyware attacks on its users? Apple is directing victims of spyware attacks to a nonprofit security lab for assistance. This lab specializes in cybersecurity and provides resources to help victims understand and address spyware threats. This partnership highlights Apple's commitment to user security and privacy and emphasizes the importance of community efforts in tackling cybersecurity challenges. Why is Australia changing its cryptography standards? Australia is proactively phasing out certain cryptographic algorithms by 2030 to mitigate the threat of future quantum computing attacks. These algorithms, currently widely used, are expected to become vulnerable as quantum computing technology advances. What are the latest concerns about SMS-based authentication? Federal agencies are warning against using SMS for two-factor authentication due to its vulnerability to interception and phishing attacks. SMS messages are unencrypted, making them susceptible to compromise. Opt for more secure alternatives, like authenticator apps or passkeys, whenever available, to enhance their online security. Are there security concerns with global telecommunications networks? The Department of Homeland Security has revealed that countries like China, Russia, Iran, and Israel are exploiting weaknesses in the SS7 protocol, which connects global telecom systems, to spy on Americans. Users are encouraged to consider using encrypted communication apps and limiting location tracking to minimize their exposure to such surveillance.
Episode 222 For our first story Bot Detection Is No Longer Working. CAPTCHAs are now a reverse IQ test—humans fail while bots ace them effortlessly. Then senators rip into the automakers: Car makers sell your data but won't let you fix your car—talk about a two-for-one insult.Fancy digital plates? Cool until someone hacks them to dodge tolls—or make you pay theirs.A GPS tracker company left customer data exposed, which is a little ironic for a business built on knowing your every move. Then a new smart assistant that won't gossip about you to the cloud. It's still got some rough edges, but we'll take rough over exposed.Apple's sending spyware victims to a nonprofit because even their genius bar needs backup sometimes.Australia's future-proofing by ditching old cryptography—quantum hackers, this puts them way ahead of the elliptic curve! From there it's another day, another healthcare hack. This time it's 5.6 million patients learning about their healthcare provider's poor data hygiene the hard way.Still using SMS for 2FA? The feds say it's a lot like locking your door but leaving the key under the mat.The US Department of Homeland Security says global spies are routinely using old and completely insecure SS7 telecom flaws. Maybe you want to rethink that unencrypted text you just sent.We filled your stockings with this weeks update, and the best part? Not a single piece of coal in sight! Let's get unwrapping! Find the full transcript to this podcast here.
There is more than just creatures stirring in the NBA household as we get ready for the annual Christmas Day slate this Wednesday, and right before the gifts are delivered, Adam Murray and Andrew Riche, Place To Be Nation's NBA-Team, are sending out their Christmas cards (and in Adam's case for some teams, Grinch-mas coal). All the discourse might involves too many three's and sagging ratings, but why was a low-scoring NBA Cup final between the Bucks and Thunder a strange breath of fresh air? Are the Kings, Heat, and Wolves in a purgatory where they need to make dramatic moves? Why has Riche suddenly become anti-rest? The duo also discuss the Christmas Day broadcast lineup, the overachieving Spurs, Joel Embiid in a mask, and more! So suit up, take it out in episode 329, and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year form the NBA-Team!
Britain recently announced the closure of the country's last coal-fired power plant, as well as an ambitious new energy plan. This week on Possibly, we break down what happened.

Welcome to Campfire Classics, a Literary Comedy Podcast!! Did that title get your attention? Really? I think there might be something seriously wrong with you! But that makes you our kind of people, I guess. This week Heather is reading a story Ken picked out for her by Susan Coolidge called "Who Ate the Pink Sweetmeat?" It's a cute little holiday story about... Socks? Candy? Whipping out your precious in public? Whatever it is, it's not nearly as tragic as your hosts seemed prepared for. Along the way, conversation topics include poncy ravens, talking inanimate objects, and what exactly does gross mean? "Who Ate the Pink Sweetmeat?" was published in 1884. Email us at 5050artsproduction@gmail.com. Remember to tell five friends to check out Campfire Classics. Like, subscribe, leave a review. Now sit back, light a fire (or even a candle), grab a drink, and enjoy.

It's no secret—Americans are set to spend a mind-blowing $1.3 trillion this holiday season. But here's the real question: how much of that spending is driven by guilt, stress, or emotional habits you just can't shake? In this episode, I'm joined by Chad Willardson, a Certified Financial Fiduciary (CFF), the President and Founder of Pacific Capital and Platinum Elevated, a five-time bestselling author, and a financial pro who helps 8-9 figure entrepreneurs take control of their money. Together, we're diving deep into the chaos of holiday spending and how you can finally break the cycle of overspending. We'll talk about why guilt spending feels so hard to stop, why experiences almost always beat material gifts, and how to protect your wallet while still enjoying the season. If you've ever felt like your finances are out of control during the holidays, this episode is your permission slip to flip the script and start fresh. What You'll Learn: Why emotional spending takes over during the holidays—and how to stop it. The dangers of guilt spending and its long-term impact on your finances. How to prioritize meaningful experiences over mindless shopping. Practical tips for planning your spending, even last-minute. How to use past financial regrets to fuel smarter decisions this year. A promoter promises to buy a cargo of defective silk stockings from a businessman through a pyramid scheme. Original Air Date: December 12, 1952 Season 3, Episode 13
Segment 2, November 16th, 2024 When we last spoke with our next guest, we had a sneak preview of a proposed restoration project involving NC's most prolific cold water fish hatchery, the Bobby N. Setzer Hatchery in Pisgah forest. Of course Helene's devastation brought unimaginable devastation to property, lives, & communities across parts of WNC. It also has caused a possible change of plans to recreational fishing in the mountains. Jake Rash is the Coldwater Research Coordinator for the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, where he helps with the coordination of research and management of NC's trout resources. He recently spoke with Carolina Outdoor host, Bill Bartee, about the trout waters on North Carolina in 2024. Show Highlights: The Armstrong Fish Hatchery near Marion had the most damage during the Helene storm There is a revised trout stocking occurring for the rest of 2024. The NC Wildlife Resource Commission is developing plans on how to properly move forward. The western region of North Carolina & its economy count on trout fishing and it was important to safely stock the streams for people. The Trout Page is the best resource to learn plans as they are announced and developed. Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture approved Jacob "Jake" Rash as its new Chairman in 2022. He says that he's anxious to find how the Brookies handle the storm in certain parts of the state. They can handle lots of water but the landslides are another story. Things You'll Learn by Listening: Jake Rash will be on-hand in Charlotte on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. as a part of the open Rocky River Trout Unlimited meeting at Jesse Brown's. Everyone is invited to come out and meet Jake and learn more about the cold water trout resources. Trout Page: www.ncwildlife.org/trout The Carolina Outdoors is powered by the Charlotte fly shop, Jesse Brown's. Get a 7 weight fly rod & take on a smallmouth bass in 2025 instead of that 3-weight rod for trout.

Erin Nichole Whinnery is the designer and maker behind Mija Handmade. Erin grew up, as she says, under her mother's sewing table. In 2011, she made a quilt for her niece, then her sewing sat on the backburner. Then, like a lot of us, she wanted something creative to do during the 2020 lockdown. She picked up some fabric and zippers and started making striped zippered pouches. When the novelty of pouches wore off, she dove into sewing in other ways. Stockings, home decor, quilts, improv... and along came the Sharrow Quilt. The first design of many to come from Mija Handmade. As you'll see in her patterns, Erin loves to incorporate bold lines with interesting geometry and movement. This is also demonstrated in her current Block of the Month: Learning Curves 2024. Erin and Amanda chatted about the beauty and inspiration that comes from what we see, and in the technical side of writing patterns. Erin views it as its own art, and Amanda agrees. Erin Nichole just released her latest pattern, Grandma Core, and is available now! You can also purchase acrylic templates to help get crisp even curves. Skirts below the knee. No jewelry, accessories, or makeup. Stockings in bed and no relaxing your hair. Does this sound familiar? For those raised in the church like Alechi, Dani, and their guest - religious trauma healer Pamela Merritt, this conversation is for you. Tune in as Pamela discusses church hurt versus trauma, how the Black community embodies religion, and the often confusing emotions around sex and religion. And be sure to lean in for her advice for reimagining your faith and reconnecting to the divine outside the church. KEY POINTS: Why is church membership dramatically dropping? Is the rise in community violence correlated with the lack of connection to spirituality? Do we need the church to teach us accountability and structure? The positive benefits of the church What trauma looks like and how it's perpetuated from the pulpit How to nourish your relationship with the divine outside of the church QUOTABLES: “For black church kids, we embody the music. We embody the feel of church. We embody the culture. We embody the community that Black church gives us. So when people come to me for religious trauma, consultations, and they are transitioning, what I'm helping them with is understanding that their religious space does not determine the structure that they have to their life.” - Pamela Merritt “Once you understand who you are and what your needs are and what your beliefs are, you can reimagine your connection with the divine in a different way.” - Pamela Merritt GUEST RESOURCES: Pamela Merritt holysmokesmovement.com thefaithcommunity.org PRODUCTS / RESOURCES: For more info, visit their website: triggeredafpodcast.com Like what you're hearing? Jacques is enraptured by Amiens' music and begs for more. Meanwhile, Orlando leaves the elderly and exhausted Adam to find food for them to eat. Later in the day, Duke Senior comes upon Jacques, who is elated by his conversation with a fool he met in the forest (Touchstone). As they sit down to eat with their entourage, Orlando enters, sword drawn, and orders them to give him food. Duke Senior soothes him and welcomes him to their feast. Orlando apologizes for his rude behavior and goes to get Adam. Jacques describes how all the world's a stage. Orlando re-enters with Adam and they all dine together. As Amiens sings another song, Orlando describes his saga to Duke Senior, who replies that she knew and loved Orlando's father, and wants to hear more. Back at the Court, Duke Frederick berates Oliver for failing to kill Orlando. He seizes Oliver's land and property, ordering him to find his brother and bring him back within a week or be banished from the realm forever. Back in the forest of Arden (or Woodstock), Orlando hangs poems to Rosalind on the trees and gives them to everyone he sees. Meanwhile, Corin and Touchstone debate the attributes of courtly and country life. They hear Rosalind (or “Johnnyseed”) reading Orlando's bad poetry. Touchstone steps forward to mock the poetry and is joined by Celia. They all laugh together.
