According to an article published by the McGill Tribune in 2018, the School of Social Work at McGill does 800 hours of unpaid internships without any remuneration. Upon some further investigation that I soon found that most female-dominated programs at McGill such as nutrition, education, social work and nursing pay tuition for their internships. This is a stark contrast to male dominated fields such as computer science and engineering, where students get paid for their internships. In today's podcast, I'll be having a conversation with two fellow McGill students about their experiences interning in the faculty of Nutrition and Education.
