This guided practice is for when you feel like you're struggling, and what you most need is self-compassion. It can be difficult to step outside of our inner critic, particularly when we most need to. But it becomes a little easier if we bring to mind the vulnerability of our inner child and offer them our kind and caring words. In this practice, I guide you through a heartfelt visualisation, evoking the image of your younger self and generating the self-compassion you need right now.
The resonance breath can positively affect your emotional wellbeing and build resilience to stress. In this audio we’ll begin by easing into the body and connecting with our abdominal breathing. Once settled, a sound will gently guide your breathing in and out for around ten minutes. We'll end with a few moments of relaxation where you can absorb the results of your resonance breath practice. If you can, grab a set of earphones and find a place where you won’t be disturbed for the next 15 minutes. Sitting up, or lying down, put the world away for a moment and press play on the audio.
The resonance breath can positively affect your emotional wellbeing and build resilience to stress. I'll begin this talk with the science and biology behind the resonance breath, just what makes it so powerful. We'll then settle into the body and connect with some abdominal breathing. With the aid of a sound, you'll have ten minutes to practice the breath, as it guides your breathing in and out. We'll end with a few relaxing minutes where you can absorb the results of your practice.
This talk is about mindful awareness of the inner resistance that holds us back. With an understanding of ourselves, and a gentle encouragement to take compassionate responsibility, we can step out from the waiting room of our lives.
A chance to take a pause for a moment, tune into that bigger perspective, and reflect on what makes a meaningful life. The words in this audio were taken from a chapter in a wonderful book called Silence, by Erling Kagge. The book delves into the power of silence, what it is and why it's important. Erling takes us on a poetic, personal and mindful journey, using some of his own incredible experiences to encourage an exploration into self-discovery.
A short reading of Verse 136 from the Radiance Sutras. A beautiful collection of profound poetry. We are so much more than our experiences. Like the depths of the ocean, we can witness those waves of experience and emotion, and have the courage and presence to witness hold it all.
One way we find meaning in our lives is by discovering and connecting with our true self. This short, practical guide, takes you through four steps to help explore what your true self might look like. We start with acceptance of where you are, gather awareness of the obstacles, discover your values, and look at what's needed to stay on the path. There's a particular focus on the qualities of openness and curiosity, compassion, forgiveness and patience, to hold and support you through the process.
