Welcome to the Guest Service Volunteer Podcast - where we share conversations and thoughts to help you as a volunteer.
Episode 12: When you choose to trust people, they tend to be trustworthy. The healthiest of teams and the happiest of people tend to default towards trust over suspicion. Join us for this conversation with Clay Scroggins as we discover how to practice being a person who starts with trust.
Episode 11: Kaylee Kerr joins us today as we discuss the various qualities which make a person stand out as a great teammate. More importantly, she will help us look at ways that each of us can become a great teammate.
Episode 10: Moses was a murderer. King David was an adulterer & Rahab was a prostitute. None of us are perfect. Today’s conversation is about the idea that God chooses to work through our weakness.
Episode 9: Being a volunteer has its perks. But what happens when those perks become expectations? Today we discuss how to serve like Jesus by focusing on what I can give instead of what I can get.
Episode 8: You cannot do everything for everybody, but you can do for one what you wish you could do for everyone. In this conversation with Cory Lebovitz, we talk about the ways that you can offer next-level service to individuals on Sunday’s.
Episode 7: Becoming an owner is not about having the most stock. It is not about having your name on the bottom of the deed or the top of the org chart. Each of us can be owners in the areas of life that matter most. How can you and I express ownership in our roles at work, in our home and at our church? This conversation with Buckhead Church Inside Out Director Beth Brady is a great way to start.
Episode 6: Cory Lebovitz dives into a conversation about the fact that a difficult person is not a problem to solve, but rather a person to know.
Episode 5: Mackenzie Ziegler chats about the importance of remembering to value the guests we serve above the systems that serve us.
Episode 4: Lead Pastor of Buckhead Church, Clay Scroggins talks about the power of having great influences who encourage you to become a better version of yourself.
Episode 3: No one is perfect, but everyone has the ability to be excellent.
Episode 2: As volunteers, we pour into the lives of others when we serve. We partner with God as we serve others. In order to pour out you have to first be poured into. That’s why this week our volunteer resource we sent out was around the idea of being a cup or a pitcher. Cups are great for serving a person, pitchers serve many - and when we serve you and I are like a pitcher.
Episode 1: These ideas will help you as a Guest Services Team member and we hope they also fuel, inspire, and equip you to lead well in every area of life.
