Each week, Dr. King will go over what’s going on in the statehouse that relates to the health of Indiana, why you should care, and what you can do about it. In just 3-4 minutes, Dr. King will highlight current legislative bills and explain how they may impact the health of the state of Indiana. Indiana’s most recent health rankings have dropped. Indiana is the 41st least healthy state and it’s time to make Indiana healthy! Jason King is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Office for IU Health Morgan. He is also the legislative chair for the Indiana Organization of Nurse Executives. While completing a Nurse Fellowship at the Indiana Statehouse during his Doctoral studies, Dr. King saw how bills have the potential to impact the nursing profession and the patients they serve. His passion grew as he became determined to encourage more nurses to become engaged and active in Health Policy and Advocacy.
